It is possible to find some great bargains, but the shipping/handling costs tend to be so high it's prohibitive unless you're looking for a very expensive item - and don't be misled by the option to combine items for shipping, as this can actually increase the overall costs rather than reducing them.

Passing 10 days, and they are saying due to COVID they cannot ship. Have sent an email to their support stating I will cancel the order before Christmas if they do not ship my guitar amp.
EDIT: After getting someone else's attention by posting a review on their Facebook page, they finally got my amp shipped and to me.
I purchased an item, when it arrived missing a part what was shown in the pictures I contacted support to send it back(it also took them 5 days to ship it out and I had to reach out to remind them that I bought an item and would like it shipped), im hoping just to send it back get my money back and go on as usual right? Wrong lol, they give me the label to ship it back, I send it back and when it arrives at their HQ, THEY DELETE MY ACCOUNT WHAT THE SH*T? 265$, gone! They take their product back and keep my money! How shady they wont even reply to my emails on why I was deleted or why they wont refund me!
They also use bot bidders, a night vision scope has been up for a few months because they want it to sell for over 300$+ So they use the bot bidders to get it up around 200$ and when you bid on it they will auto outbid you to try and get you to pay over 300 for it, if you want to sell it for 300 or more why not just give it a bloody set price instead of having illusory bidding! So dishonest!
If you get a good price on something, they will sometimes "lose" your bid, won that cool game for a low price? Well we don't think you paid enough for it sorry better luck next time!
They also sport INSANE shipping and handling prices! I know damn well that those aviator shades are not a pound and they don't need a giant box to be shipped in!
STAY AWAY! OR USE EXTREME CAUTION, NEVER BUY ANY ELECTRONICS AND ONLY BUY IF THERE ARE LOTS OF IMAGES ON IT! Better yet just use ebay!
I just received my third item from ShopGoodwill and like the other two, this one is defective and should never have been put up for sale on a bidding site. It's one thing to sell items like this in a store where the buyer can actually try out the item, but to ship them to unsuspecting bidders is a scam.
The first two items I let slide and didn't request a refund because the defect was kind of obscure but this last one is so obviously defective as to be illegal. The item is essentially useless.
I've learned my lesson and won't purchase anymore from Goodwill.
One last thing, in my research on the non-profit, they are a multi-billion dollar business and the top managers make millions every year in salary all while paying the people doing the grunt work a pittance. This non-profit is a scam.
Have bought numerous items over the years, and must say most of the items are poorly packed and arrived DOA. I gravitate towards antiques and it is a loss to see some rare items packed by a dipsh*t and see it arrived worthless. And SGW could care less. They have a deal with FedEx (to there loss) that keeps the $$ rolling in. Have not bought in a year or so anything of value, but large antique vase had no packing bubbles on bottom and the peanuts do not do crap for protection. Bottom of vase broken off. They never seen to upgrade there practices, just keep falling short. I would not say criminal outfit, but very close.
It seems a complete scam, and rip off to the public,,, shipping rates and they tax my entire Oder including shipping and handling fee,,, never again, that's site is a scammer paradise, inside trading, misleading and general poor service
Before you bid check the shipping details this will give you the cost
It will give you postage and handling fees
So you know how much before you bid
I can tell you that this is the most dishonest place I have ever done business with. Purchsed DS online, won't even power on, second DS chewed up by a dog not shown in pictures, Nike + watch doesn't work missing parts. This place should be sued for their terrible business practices. Their moto is "We put people to work". Well they teach employees how to steal money from people that are usually already short on funds if they are shopping at goodwill. Their moto should be we rip people off and steal their money through lies and deception. I'm only 39 so this isn't just some older person ranting. God's honest truth, these people are crooks.
I have been ripped off by them twice. I got a pair of San grasses and they hid tge damage in the photos. The damage was not in the Description of the item. This is nothing lesser than gross misrepresentation and theft of moneys. I have emailed them and nothing. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.
I bid on a brooch, weighs 3 oz, paid $7 on a winning bid, ended up paying $17.85 for shipping and handling!
I purchased a vacuum cleaner and a printer through the auction. It took a long time to get my items. Neither of my items worked and I ended up being out of $72. My advice is to just go to the actual goodwill store. You can test your items in the store and they have a return policy which the site does not. Don't waste your time and money on broken crap like I did. Wish I had known.
Goodwill gets everything they sell for free. They're supposed to put everything out in the store - but when managers sees a really nice item, they ship it to the e-commerce department. This is how they cheat the public. They pretend to be a charity, but they don't help anybody. Well, they do help the managers and supervisors make more money. So don't bother looking for nice merchandise in a Goodwill store. It's being sold for high prices on the internet.
I have been finding alot of really old items I haven't seen since I was a kid. Buying a few of them. And I love to look at everything. If I need anything in the future, I'll look for it here fist. Thank you..
My first purchase on shopgoodwill. I was SO excited to receive my beautiful Lilly Blouse only to open the package to find the front seam clearly stretched and torn into a run. I knew my blouse wasn't going to be new, but I didn't expect it to be damaged so badly it's obviously not wearable. Sent my issue to customer service. I need to return for a FULL refund
I have been using this stie for about two months. You can absolutely come across some great treasures but just when you think you have a decent deal, be prepared to pay two if not three times more than the actual end auction price that you win at. These are donated items and they do the bear minimum in descriptions and everything is as-is. Their handling fees are excessive to say the least and there is such a major discrepancy between postage charges, which are always high. Goodwill is supposed to be a non-profit/good cause but they really don't come across like that. Reduce the starting prices, reduce the handling fees and give buyers better options on postage
I was shopping at your store located at 2600 Fondren Rd. ******* on 10/17/2020 approximately 3pm. An irate customer came in and was being so rude to the cashier. The cashier kept her professional attitude all the way to the end. The manager had to intervene, and she also was very professional. In this day and time this is to be commended. Two people because of their positive attitude, defused a situation that could have ended in the lost of lives. Great Job! Great training!
I have been on and off Shopgoodwill.com going on 6 years. What I've learned about this site and the charity it funds is the administrators of this business is only concern whatsoever is profit. I think a good portion of Americans believe Goodwill helps the needy. What a huge misconception that is. The closest they come to that is providing low paying jobs to sell the huge amount of merchandise good-hearted Americans donate thinking they are helping the needy. Goodwill does NOT directly help the needy. The CEO of this so called nonprofit charity is paid millions annually. Its quite a scam making millions for a select few.
Now about their auction site. As briefly as I can explain. Overcharging for shipping is a mainstay. You can expect it everytime. Tacking on a bogus handling charge which can be upwards of $4 per item. Ridiculous. Then turnaround on shipping the items. Plan on waiting 5-7 days before an item is even shipped plus the shipping time itself, another 2-5 days. Its really not worth it. It may seem like a great deal intionally but its truly not. The perfect business because all of the product Goodwill sells is donated to them. Unreal, please if you want to donate then donate to a real charity that actually helps the needy.
I've had the fortune of finding some treasures. I keep in mind not everything is as it appears in photos and the no return policy makes me think twice before bidding. I can't say every purchase was a positive one, but it's second hand goods being sold by people who couldn't possibly be experts on all things. If I have a question, they answer it; if I have a problem, they have always been professional and assisted me as best they can while in keeping with their policy. The times I have been less than happy were borne out of my own failure to add up the shipping and handling prior to bidding. The item was only $8 but I paid $14 to ship plus $5 - oops. I notice some things sell for crazy high prices which is interesting. I do a little background check on an item to see if it's really the deal of the century and many times find the same or even new product being sold elsewhere for less. Shipping times fluctuate from store to store, so I just accept that as the way it is. They ship using FedEx and they typically pack an item very well. Only two items I purchased were damaged during shipping which was resolved without too much effort or inconvenience. I don't go into any purchase with unreasonable expectations. It's used, it's untested and it's not guaranteed so if you can't afford to take a loss then it's not the place to shop. If you hope to find something unique or vintage, you will; a printer or even a camera for $30, you can; I bought a cello for $60 and it's beautiful. You never know what you'll find.
Answer: It did not get lost they did not get the price they wanted for the said item so it's lost they will wait for a while and realist it under a different item number and raise the shipping price and bid price with the auto bods so they can get a higher price for the item
Answer: Well look at the salary of their CEO vs. The salary of the Salvation Army's CEO. That will tell you what kind of "non-profit" it is.
Answer: If buyer got to leave their personal experiences with this company, they wouldn't exist in a year. They aren't going to risk that. Only honest sellers want their information posted for everyone to see. So don't expect it from Goodwill.
Answer: If you aren't using paypal or a credit card, there isn't much recourse. With paypal, the seller has to prove you received the item. If they can't, you will get your money back.
