Some sellers on this site ship fast. Some sellers wait up to seven (7) days before shipping
an item. In the past, I had to email sellers to request a shipping date (this should not happen it you have a
Persons money). If you want to do good business, treat customers like a they are shopping at a regular store (not a thrift store). As soon as you get their money, ship the item no later than (3) business days. It makes you look professional, even if your not.
Goodwill gets everything they sell for free. They're supposed to put everything out in the store - but when managers sees a really nice item, they ship it to the e-commerce department. This is how they cheat the public. They pretend to be a charity, but they don't help anybody. Well, they do help the managers and supervisors make more money. So don't bother looking for nice merchandise in a Goodwill store. It's being sold for high prices on the internet.
Do NOT donate to your local goodwill. It will not go to help your community. Anything worth more than 5 dollars is shipped to Shopgoodwill where shill bidders jack up the bids. If they happen to win, it will be relisted within the week. Dirty!
My favorite. Goodwill will show a box of cards but you cant see no cards, the bids up to 600$. So i ask them and they say, we dont know whats in there, BS.
Nobody bids that much money without knowing.
Employees tell their friends what's in there and they bid. They are shady.
Southern Fla is good for that with their "so-called mystery boxes" dont know whats in the boxes but some go for $1,500 and the box next to it goes for $50 BS
Ive called the AGs office on them. They as bad as Storage Treasures
I bought a necklace that appeared to be for an adult woman. I won a bid for $5. They charged me almost 13 dollars for shipping. When it came I was shocked. The necklace was so cheap, tiny and light it could of been worn by a doll. My own fault should of paid more attention. The little box fit into a tiny envelope; it could have been sent for under 2 dollars. Instead they sent it ground!... and it cost me 13.00. Total scam I don't care if it is for charity I am done and so is my account
The system at goodwill auctions is horribly stacked against the buyer. I have purchased 4 binoculars and 3 cameras from the auctions and NONE has been in usable condition. Problems most encountered were inoperative cameras, and with the optics, fungus in the lenses, bad collimation of binoculars, and in one case a pair of Bausch and Lomb elite binoculars with one tube completely blacked out. What is the common thread? All were described as in good working order, and not returns. It is virtually impossible to assess accurately the condition of an item because of the amateur descriptions of the items, and the really poor photos accompanying the listings. As a final insult the shipping charges are often wildly inflated and may not reflect the charge listing in the live auction. Basically they are selling other people's discarded junk. It won't sell if they list the condition accurately, so they exaggerate or lie.
I had never created an account before last week and thought I had stumbled across an awesome way to save money on Legos. I spent time searching through the items up for bid and lost a few auctions. After a few days I get an error message when I try to log in that says to contact support@. I go ahead and do that just to get a copy and paste message later about how my account was "inactivated" due to nonpayment of wins using previous accounts. I've never had another account! Wanting to get my account back I wrote back a lengthy message on the reasons I think they could've made the error and why those reasons would be incorrect. No response.
I get the feeling that whatever problem they have with their system that causes this issue (since I'm reading others have dealt with this, too), they don't care to fix it and they definitely don't want to talk about their mistakes and try to make things right.
Goodwill sells stuff that is not tested or broken. Also damaged upon delivery. It is very difficult to get credited for the stuff that is does not work. The Staff at good will is a bunch of Snobs. They do not believe or answer your complaint. It is a money making organization. Bottom Line you get Screwed!
I have bid/bought thousands of dollars on this site and now all the sudden they have suspended my account. Stupid company. Tried emailing company and the email keeps getting rejected saying site rejected your email. WTH. Buyer beware stay away. I'd rather go on eBay and be covered by buyer protection then have to deal with these dumbasses. X
Terrible shipping, misleading pics, misleading description, and they out light lie on what they say you will receive. Bought marbles that weren't packed at all they were all broken and scratched. Don't trust on anything they show because you will get ripped off. I will be contesting my purchase through PayPal. I don't care if they shut me off.
The Seattle store has the highest shipping charges of all the stores I have seen. It's not unusual to see an item (example) weigh 10 pounds, and the packaged weight is 20 pounds or more. The item would not be extra large or bulky, they just add the pounds on to get the extra shipping money. I quit buying from them.
I opened an account and have stolen my a good bit iof money with them. I found something I've been looking for forever, bid on it, get notice my account has been suspended. Sent an email to customer service and basically was told 'to bad so sad'...
Do not buy purses off this website, they always take pictures so you cant see the damage. It's happened 2x for me! Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I really don't know why I even did it, I know Goodwill doesn't help anyone but their corporate people. They are a joke! 3 different purses had damage you couldn't see in their pics and they smell like mildew
I recently purchased what I thought was a pair of Keen men's hiking shoes from Shopgoodwill.com online auction. When the "leather" began tearing and disintegrtaing, it was clear that the "leather" was cheap synthetic. I called Keen, and they told me that this particular model of Keen hiking shoe was made with leather, not vinyl! The shoes are counterfeits! Goodwill sells phony products and passes them off as genuine. Shame on you Goodwill!
I have purchase some items from them and have learned their system. Check everything very carefully before bidding. Shipping and handling charges are excessive so factor that in. I purchased a print today from our local store online. I didn't notice until I got home that it had a rip on the edge. They had a tag clipped over rip. When I emailed store they said it was obvious in pictures. (It wasn't) I didn't pay much for it, so it isn't a big loss. There customer service sucks so don't expect any.
Used to get good artwork there, even though I don't know why there're handling fees (aren't they getting the goods for free?) and sometimes the shipping is ridiculous. Not until recently that I get why so many people are calling it a scam, After finding myself lost one auction, I was astounded that his bidding TIME displayed at the bidding history is 4/4/2021 12:35:52 PM, this item ends bid on 4/4/2021 7:02:00 PM, how come anyone can still place a bid after the bid has already ended? The seller was evasive in answering my inquiry until I asked for the third time, finally, they said they're just not sure about it.
This site used to be very good. In the last 3 months: I bought a LOT of boots that were advertised as ladies, they were children's. I purchased a ladies medium cashmere top, it was children's. Sterling silver that was copper, advertised as rubies and diamonds. I had them tested, they were glass. Buyer beware, this site had gone downhill. I used to trust it, I can't anymore
It costs more to get an item shipped to you than you paid for it...fees are very high.and i feel and see items that bring way more than they are worth or that you can buy them for a much cheaper price on ebay.
I have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of stuff from shopgoodwill.com. The shipping and handling charges are outrageous! $20+ when it should be around $6. And, if that wasn't enough to turn you off the site, it could take upwards of a week for them to even ship your item. Then another week or so for their (or it seems so) exclusive courier FedEx to get the item to you.
I have had no success in resolving an old but ongoing issue. I've been unable to find an appropriate phone number for which to make contact but have sent multiple emails with absolutely no response. At this point I am no longer interested in doing business with this company.
Answer: It did not get lost they did not get the price they wanted for the said item so it's lost they will wait for a while and realist it under a different item number and raise the shipping price and bid price with the auto bods so they can get a higher price for the item
Answer: Well look at the salary of their CEO vs. The salary of the Salvation Army's CEO. That will tell you what kind of "non-profit" it is.
Answer: If buyer got to leave their personal experiences with this company, they wouldn't exist in a year. They aren't going to risk that. Only honest sellers want their information posted for everyone to see. So don't expect it from Goodwill.
Answer: If you aren't using paypal or a credit card, there isn't much recourse. With paypal, the seller has to prove you received the item. If they can't, you will get your money back.
