I bought an expensive Steelcase Chair from them. It was great for about 6 months, then the cylinder broke and it would no longer stay up. I wrote them initially in December of 2019, and they wrote back and gave me instructions on how to fix it myself. The instructions were poor and I could not follow them, so I asked for help. They did not reply so I wrote to Steelcase, who wrote back and showed me the very small disclaimer on seating mind's website that this company is not an official seller of their product, so no warranty comes from steelcase for their chairs.
I then had a friend come over and try the "repair", but when the seat was removed through a lot of effort, the cylinder was not the same kind as the one in the instructions and there was no repair that could be done. I wrote back a couple more times, no acknowledgment of my supposed 5 year warranty. I checked with the local steelcase seller and they wanted 300.00 to repair it.
They SUCK. Do not buy anything from them.
I strongly advise against from buying from Seating Mind. I had a problem with an order and have gotten no response to multiple emails and voice mails. My next step is to contest the purchase with my credit card company. Very disappointed with the company. Stay away!
They send you an email that says Item has been shipped. Which actually means they sent the shipping information to Fed Ex, not sent the item. It was about 2 weeks and a half when I placed the order and no update was made. Save yourself the time of waiting for an item to arrive in a month and shop elsewhere.
Frankenstein Herman Miller chairs. All sorts of pieces parts in the two I have and both are absent the labels underneath to identify their origin. (they got that one right).
Tell ya what - if a bargain for this is ok with you - then get one because the price cannot be beaten but if you are all about the real deal just suck it up and pull out your $1k at a reputable retailer.
I've bought 2 Aeron Chairs, site said it was "open-box". They arrived and were ridiculously used – more than 10 years or use. It's a shame to call it "open-box" in the first place. On top of that, both were incredibly dirty, with lots of grease and hair stuck in the wheels, and one was simply broken – one arm rest wasn't moving sideways as it should. Ridiculous used stuff sold without the most basic cleaning nor refurbishment as "open-box". After a long discussion, they accepted to take one back, I've shipped it to UPS and they never refunded a single penny! They claim "the refund system is broken"! It is ridiculous, I wish I had researched more before buying, because it is not unfair to call those folks scammers!
As they say, you get what you pay for. And in this case you get to pay but receive nothing. Great stuff. Could not be more disappointed, spent a lot of time on hold with FedEx to figure out where my package was only to find out it never shipped. Then called Seating Mind and as you can probably guess, there's no one to pick up the phone, emailed and their SLA to get back to you is two days. If my suggestion is worth anything, pay more to actually get something vs getting scammed. My next stop will be the Better Business Bureau. Crazy, just wanted a chair and now will have to sink loads of time into figuring out what's next.
Not much to say - search Trustpilot, search BBB.org, search NJ websites to try and find anything legit about this company. Owner will reply back about 15 years in business - but at the end of the day - let the numerous negative reviews, that have taken people time to write - let them speak for themselves and make up your own mind.
I purchased a chair months ago and never received it. Back and forth with customer service I finally canceled after waiting over 45 days for it to ship! They charged me 10% for doing nothing! They literally kept $55 from me because it's part of their policy. Is it part of your policy as well to not ship someone something they've ordered? Customer service is a joke. Read other review sites too to get an accurate story on this place. Terrible.
I purchased a chair online which arrived damaged and in a battered rain soaked box. I tried to exchange it for a different chair. I called 5 times but could never get a call back. I sent 15 emails back and forth with the worst customer service agent ever, who never answered any of my questions, and I couldn't get her to escalate with a customer service manager and I could never get someone to call me. Ultimately I sent it back and paid a 20% restocking fee and am going to go buy a chair elsewhere. I strongly advise you to not purchase from this company. PS I also couldn't post a review on their site.
Same company as Office Chairs at Work. Check all review sites. Same address. Two names to hide their horrible reputation. All chairs are used. They aren't clear about that. So they're all in different conditions, not close to new. So, they may or may not have what inventory they describe or show on their website. Ordered a chair with black fabric and a "Titanium base", shown as metal in the pictures. The fabric was gray, the base was beat-up, poorly spray painted, black plastic. Asked them to send the correct chair, they literally told me no. Seriously. I don't think they had what they showed on the site. They said "LOL. WE'RE NOT SENDING YOU ANYTHING". I was told to shop elsewhere. Pretty shocking. Problem is I don't dare return it. I don't know if I'll get a refund. They have a 35% restocking fee. So I'll keep this chair I didn't order and cut my losses. Learn from me. Don't shop here.

This refurbished chair purchased from SeatingMind.com, which cost $620 (original price over $1200), makes annoying sound when lowering the height - hopefully not always. Otherwise the chair does the job as expected.
Maybe Herman Miller would return this product for a new one, but with SeatingMind.com, it does not qualify for a return or refund. Their web page looks as if return is free and easy, but you should have a more serious defect than this one in order to qualify for a return.
If I knew this, I would have just purchased an original product directly from Herman Miller at twice the price. I hope other potential customers make informed decisions when purchasing chairs from SeatingMind.com.
I bought a $900 chair from them. When it arrived the box looked like it had been dropped off the top of their warehouse, holes in the side of the box, and 2/5 wheels had broken off and were actually missing from the box(holes in box). They were very delayed in responding to inquiry, made me send photos several times, offered to send me paint and replacement wheels even though there was extensive visual damage, and when they finally sent me return shipping label(and also denied a replacement chair) they delayed in refunding and when they finally did, they tried to charge a restocking fee which I am currently rejecting via credit card. This was a bizarre transaction and a first for me.
Since the begining of April 2020, trying to return a chair and get my money back:
"I ordered a new chair included in the below email. After several complaints that I did for not arriving on time, I received an used and defective one. I contacted you through the Walmart Market place several times but never receive an answer. After that I began the return using the same marketplace (see attached file). Today I tried to return the chair (in the same box I received it) to a Walmart store but they informed me that they were no allow to receive it (from third party) and that I had to write to this email
Please inform me where I have to return the chair and get my payment back as soon as possible."
On April 28,2022, our small organization spent $6650. 00 on their site for 14 office chairs. Two of the 14 arrived missing parts and one arrived with a defective seat. First, they told us to disassemble the seat and they would send us a new seat. We do not have the tools to do so. And we relayed that to them.
Then they told us to return the chair and they would replace it with another one. It's been weeks and we are still arguing with the customer service department about getting replacement chair and the two parts for the other chairs.
They won't provide a box to send back the defective chair, although their website stated that they would. And, to add insult to injury, the website says we have to pay for the box, which we agreed to do.
But now they won't provide one. NEVER AGAIN.
Worst company I've dealt with and I'm been running organizations for four decades. Tell everyone to avoid them at all costs.
I was concerned immediately after I placed our order. Jacob's written communication is terrible. He is very poor in grammar and punctuation (writes multiple paragraphs as one sentence. When I continued to ask when the order would ship, Jacob and Abe were very vague each time. I asked to cancel the order which they refused at first. I then demanded the cancellation, which they did. Customer service only refunded part of what we paid them. They refused to refund the balance. I filed a dispute with PayPal, who took action and processed the rest of our refund.
Seatingmind.com has 19 complaints with the local Better Business Bureau. If you read these complaints, it is obvious they are operating with next to no integrity whatsoever. Furthermore, seatingmind.com is very close to a fraudulent business. Shame on you if you choose to place an order with this business.
The owner of this company keeps on registering new domain names to make them show up as top 2-3 when you search to buy Aeron chair by Herman Miller in Google. Their e-commerce websites use the same template and marked as 50%-60% percent off. Very attractive but DON'T BE FOOLED!
These companies live on 10% refund. That means, they will only return 90% for each transaction to customer. So they don't care if the product or their customer service is good or not. Google is fooled and i saw lots of 1-star reviews by those people who were fooled by them as well.
Completely misrepresented the color of the chair we purchased, claims to be brown, and pictured as brown. Received a puke yellow color that couldn't pass for brown on a black and white television. Was offered to return with a 10% restocking fee, pathetic service.
I ordered a Herman Miller Aeron in Size C. Paid extra for the larger size. At shipping time, they changed the shipping email to Size B and sent a SIze B. I called customer service and all they did was ask me if I wanted to keep it. There are no Size C available so they sent that. Oh wait, and they kept the upcharge. Cust Svc refuses to address the issue. I dIsputed on my credit card. Then they sent me a return label. These people are not reputable as many reviews on this site show. Give them your credit card at your own risk, as you have been warned,
Seating Mind customer service and return policy is horrible! After requesting to have an order cancelled due to shipping delays. I was advised via email to refuse the shipment as it was already in route. Due to the pandemic the FedEx driver literally dropped the package at my door. I immediately contacted Seating Mind and was provided a return label. I returned the merchandise in its original unopened box. It was received back by Seating Mind 05/05/2020. As of today 06/18/2020 I have yet to receive my refund. I even disputed it through my financial institution. However, Seating Mind refused the chargeback. My financial institution will no longer assist me at this point, which I have also communicated to Seating Mind. I am now working with the Better Business Bureau in an attempt to resolve this issue. BUYER BEWARE!
For six weeks I had no updates and no replies to my emails. Then I got charged a $60 "restocking" fee when I finally told them to cancel my order if they weren't ready to ship it. I'm still salty about it two months later.
Answer: Good question. Every other review site hammers these guys. Beware. This is rigged.
Answer: Honestly. With how I was treated. These guys must be mafia.
Answer: This company may be legit, but from the research I have done online after my purchase experience with them, they totally scam people with their outrageous "restocking fee" policy.
Answer: Prices. But you're getting used stuff in god-only-knows condition. Stick with garage sales. These guys are shady. Beware.
Answer: They're all used with blemishes and they don't always send what you order.
