Avoid Sears
June 18, 2020

I think I have to share the story and ask people to avoid Sears Home Service. The technician has no knowledge of refrigerator repair. He only collected $99 diagnostic fee and told me he can't fix it because the part is too old to order. I had my refrigerator fixed the next day by another company. It has nothing to do with the part the Sears technician claimed!

DON'T BUY SEARS
June 15, 2020

Worst service ever! One start is being nice! I have a 1.5 year old refrigerator that the compressor went out on. I've been trying to get a person on the phone for two weeks! We have a service warranty and they seem like they don't want to take care of your appliance if you have this. If you tell them you don't have a warranty they come right out. No wonder they went out of business!

Please do not use!
June 13, 2020

Terrible experience with this service. Never repaired my refrigerator. Ordered parts that never came. Made no contact with me in 45 days. I called and found out service order was cancelled. Request a refund for my service call and warranty. Supervisor was to call within 48 hours. It's been 5 days and no call. Long story short. Over 250.00 charged and no service provider. Save your money and go elsewhere.!

BEWARE
June 10, 2020

You will get ripped off. It's just a question of how much $. There come out and quote an outrageous fee for simple job like replace Icemaker. I mean you could buy a new fridge for what they quote. I had to pay $139 for him coming out. I wish I read these other reviews first.

The call center promises anything to get your business. The techs are either inept or instructed to avoid doing actual repairs. Either way an AC system, which they installed has lasted 4 1/2 years and has been out for close to a month. Avoid at all costs.

Terrible service but worst of all is the phone service. The people are OK but hold times are awful and you are cut off after a 30 minute hold. After exactly 2 months our replacement cook top was installed of course it was the wrong model and I am starting all over again.

Bought a KENMORE Refrigerator #*******5711 from SEARS 2 years ago while they were going out of business, I guess I would say I was lucky to have one break down so soon! I just want to write this review to save any of you the trouble of staying away from their warranty and services. While all 3 technicians have been nice, I don't think they have any idea how to diagnose anything, its a hit or miss diagnoses, the trouble of diagnosing and repairing is ridiculous. It will take a week to schedule a tech, then they will guess a part that "may" not be working and order the part. Wait 2 more weeks for the part to arrive. Call another tech to arrive in a week to install part. Fridge still not working, lets try another part, ordered another part wait 2 weeks. Part arrives, call a tech, wait a week, tells me part is working now, wait 24 hrs for fridge "to restart", 24 hrs passed, fridge still not working. Wait another week for a tech to "diagnose" another part with his multi-meter. Parts back-ordered as of today 06/02/2020, waiting till 06/23/2020. I check their searspartdirect website and the "parts" I need are available, it says shipping takes 1 week. What is wrong with this company, no wonder they have run out of business! I expect this fridge after the warranty expires to fail again. I will buy another fridge from Lowes or Home Depot instead. SAVE yourself the time and money somewhere else.

Had appointment for sears dryer repair between 1 and 5 PM. Now one showed no one called, no one texted. Spent almost 1 hour on phone trying to get so information. Got absolutely nowhere. I have experienced bad service before but this on takes 1st. Place. I will never use them again and go out of my way to advertise their total incompetency. Sears should immediately discontinue this service before they go out of business. The once great sears and Roebuck is now on the trash heap of failed businesses. Good riddance to Sears.

Terrible service! Can't contact anyone in authority to get help. They play the phone run around game. They pass you from one representative to another saying they can't help, but the next person can. Sears Elite LG refrigerator. This refrigerator has been worked on many times. Nice looking high priced refrigerator, but poorly built and engineered. Sears Home Services has the worst service representatives I have ever dealt with. Can not speak English clearly, they only answer questions that are scripted for them. You ask to speak to their supervisor, they will argue with you and put you on hold for long periods of time. The Sears Consumer Advocate is a joke. You can be on hold for hours and then they hang up while you wait. Then you call back and they put you at the back of the phone line and tell you they did it. You can't leave a message for them to return your call. Sears Home Service appears to be a highly engineered company that plans never to meet their obligations. It takes minus a week to get them to come out the first time. The tech then doesn't have the necessary tools to trouble shoot the problem. I had to find a magnetic and loan it to the tech to see if a switch worked. It worked and then he had to leave and go somewhere else. He then called back and said he would return next week. They act like what you see on Saturday Night Live TV show. They have great advertisements on how they will take care of you. Once they have your money say bye bye to any service.

Please do yourself a favor and never use this company. The freezer part on our fridge has been out since January 2020 and the service department has been at our house for 8 times replacing this and that and the freezer is still not working. My husband has taken off from work numerous times to meet the technician and sometimes she shows up just to take a serial number and that is all. The service technician will come to your house and try to repair your appliance but it their repair did not fix the problem, it will take them 3 weeks to come back - EVERY TIME. You cannot get anyone on the phone that would know anything or help you to get expedited service. Contacting them online does not help - there is no sense of urgency on anyone's part. We have been so disgusted at the level of their service so do yourself a favor and call some other service company.

I scheduled a service for my Kitchen aid refrigerator a week ago for Friday the 29th from 10-2. Recevied a phone call the day before confirming the appointment. Received a text at 5PM stating they were changing the appointment to June 3rd. Meantime I have a leaking freezer. I will not be renewing my Sears Home Warranty. The call center is out sourced to the Philippines. They could care less when I called. I asked for a supervisor and was on hold for 20 minutes before they hung up on me! Do not get the Sears Home Service Warranty! No wonder Sears is out of business!

Poor service
May 28, 2020

We have been going back and forth with this group since November 2019 on the same problem. They have been to our house approximately 14 times. They have replaced 3 or 4 parts which one of them was twice. The problem is still NOT repaired. Next to impossible to talk to a manager. The technician tells you one thing and when you call Sears Home Warranty they tell you something else. We are very dissatisfied with the service and some the technicians have a very poor attitude!

Horrible customer service missed diagnosed us, charged almost $500 to change a part that was not bad and tried to refuse to refund us. Don't waste your money and several hours with horrible customer service departments.

I had a small plastic park break in the "On-the-door" water dispenser of my refrigerator. The repairman came and took it apart and showed me what broke. It took 15 minutes. He said he would order the part and have to come back when the part came in. Two weeks later the part arrived, I opened the package as instructed by the repairman and it was broken. I tried to call and let someone know the problem. I was sent from one number to the next, eventually I spoke with someone who informed me that the serviceman had to order the part. So the repairman came back and was here a total of 15 minutes, he reordered the part and set up another appointment.
The part has not come in on time and we will have to have another appt. Ugh!
I tried to work with the automated system to change the appt. I was cut off, then the system told me I wasn't in the computer, and cut me off again. Finally reached someone and they could help. I wasted 40 minutes with the out of date system.
My next problem is that I am being charged $331.50 for LABOR for a job that is virtually labor-less. A few screws and a quick switch of a plastic part. It's excessive overkill.and taking advantage of consumers, especially those of us living on a fixed income.
I have had Sears Repair make repairs several times in my life but I am sorry to say that I will NEVER call Sears Home Repair Again. I just can't afford the inefficiency, aggravation, or the cost.

A complete waste of time and money. The technician came out and checked the temperature on the outside of the unit, then checked the temperature on the wall next to unit, came in-house checked the temp of intake and outage vents. That's it... I knew it was working but wanted a technician to go into the unit and check to see if everything was cleaned and working properly. That's not what happened. Then to add insult to injury they failed to credit my coupon for discount, charging me the full price of $129.99 for absolutely nothing. Now I need to schedule another company to come out and do the job correctly. Don't waste your money!

Don't let Sears have the upper hand here, fight back! Hold them accountable! Either retain a consumer (lemon law) attorney or do it yourself, it is surprisingly rather easy. Sears will not show to small claims because attorneys are not allowed (and they wouldn't waste their time), they will settle with you. I purchased a Kenmore Elite less than two years ago and like everyone else the compressor has failed. Sears Home Services has now cancelled a total of seven appointments, Im going to be forced to shell out of my own pocket for a new compressor that is still under warranty. There is a class action lawsuit, please look it up and get in touch with the law firm. I truly hope everyone reading this will consider filing a lawsuit.

I purchased a Warranty with my refrigerator 2+ years ago and have never had to use the service until now. I am now on my THIRD attempt at getting a technician to actually show up for an appointment! 1st appt was a no-show. 2nd appt gets confirmed via text 3 days prior to, but then cancelled by Sears less than 12hrs before the scheduled appt. Now they have rescheduled my appt for 2 weeks out. Yay - 1 month after my original call for service I will probably be stood up, once again.

I used their online service to set an appointment to have our refrigerator/freezer repaired. I was given a timeframe between 1pm-5pm with an ETA of 4:15 pm. The Technician never showed.
Later that evening after 9 pm the technician calls and says how busy he was and wants to reschedule four days out. I asked why he could not put me at the top of his schedule in the morning. He said he is not in charge of the schedule. I thought to myself "then how can he reschedule me for four days from now?"
My wife sat at home waiting for this guy all day and he did not have the courtesy to call us and let us know he was not coming. Absolutely unacceptable to me and we will not work with them in the future.

I ordered cleaning air duct vents and dryer vent. The technician came and said I have mold in the ducts and he can't clean before treatment to mold. He told the treatment costs 2580$. So I agreed thinking that he will remove mold by using chemicals and some other equipment then he will clean. But his coworker clean and him spraying chemicals into the vent and that's it. I asked his friend if he cleaned the dryer vent well and he said yes. But in fact he just put the air hose inside the dryer not inside the vent. He write the invoice and I signed. When I looked at the bill I saw "blower and coil level 3. I called the technician and told him that the dryer isn't done well and sent him a photo. He came next day apologizing and cleaned it. I showed him the bill and said does it cost 1480 for just spray chemicals into the vent and 1100 to clean blower and coil. I asked did you spray chemicals on coil to cleaned he said no. So how he cleaned the coils just by the air hose and cost me 1100! I called customer service and explained everything and the agent put a note of what happened and told me a manager will call you. Until now nobody called. So I know for sure there was no mold inside my ducts and my coils not cleaned and who knows did they cleaned well the air vents. What a shame for such service that costed me over 2000$. I do not recommend Sears for air ducts cleaning at all. No honesty at all and they will cost you thousands for nothing
