I purchased a pair of boots in the amount of $59.99 + 10.25% taxes was added which brings the total to $66.13. I returned the boots in 2 business days for a full refund due back in cash in the amount of $66.13. I was only refunded in cash $60.07 I questioned the manager why I wasn't refunded the full about she preceeded to explained that she refunded the correct amount and preceeded with some unreasonable answers. Very unprofessional as for a manager I explained that this is not acceptable and ripping the customers off it will be reported. Ross Store Chicago Illinois Randolph & Wabash.

Hit or miss

I gave this rating because it's hit or miss for me at Ross. Normally i'm trying to find 2 like items and i'll find what i want but can't find the match or two of a kind. So meh.

I had a return today of two items, unworn, tags were off but I still had them along with the receipt. The girl started speaking spanish to the other cashier. I stood there like an idiot while they were discussing me in front of me knowing I don't speak Spanish. I was informed I couldn't return which really wasn't the issue. I could care less about $20 purchase. It was over 30 days, tags were not attached. That's a new rule since covid started I was informed. What ticked me off was them talking about me back and forth in Spanish. If there was a problem talk about in English to me. So trashy and rude, I'm discusted and will never set foot in crappy, cheap store like that again. I get treated better at Walmart. Hard to find good help these days isn't it? Manners are not hard to learn. PS I didn't even want that stuff back and told them to through it away. Trash

Ross, is the store for bargain hunting. If you need a party dress at a great price, this is the store and if you're lucky you'll find the brand you want. Shoes and Purses great brands and even better prices. Everything in their store might be last seassons Items, but who cares? You do have to go with time and MONEY to shop, cause, Oh Boy! You'll find some interesting stuff, even stuff you weren't counting on buying. Their return policy is really flexible, so if you don't have your recipt they can give you store credit with your ID on hand, if an item you bought and you don't have a receipt they will give you a crefit of what that Item is worth at that time (they change prices a lot to clearance). They don't hesitate to credit you.

I shop Ross, a lot, but depending on which store it is, some are well maintained, some look like they had a tornado go through and are not very conducive to wanting to purchase something there.

Bad customer service

Bought my husband some underwear was told I could return if not the right size, so I tried return them and was told no. Is that how they make there money, really sad.

Bad Customer Service!
April 18, 2021

I went to Ross and they told me I couldn't use the restroom because the manager was busy. I was willing to wait cause I had to go but they were just saying she was too busy to ever unlock it for me. Then I went to another Ross while in line I reached to buy on of the items while waiting in line and they had broken glass and when I put my hand down to reach for it that glass cut into my hand. They were kind to get me bandaids and alcohols cause my hand was bleeding everywhere but they didn't ask acknowledge that their store did this! They didn't ask about where the glass was when I told them they had broken glass on their counters they ignored that part and just gave me a bandaide. I'm grateful for the band aide but I am mad at Ross for No sympathy no acknowledgment that their store had broken glass and cut me! Who knows if there is more still there or around there! I tried to tell them but they were disinterested or just didn't want to acknowledge that their store causes it!

Refund policy changed!
Very rude two ladies
The first one her name is Jolle and she is very rude i want do return without recipt because i have the credit card i bought with and it has been only 2 days ago i did bought thoes items. She refused the return and she garbed my items and she left me on the check out waiting and waiting and she went to talk to a other employee and joke and i am still waiting
Then when i asked her to a manager she refused and then she got me Beni the store assassinate which i understood why this rude employee is acting like that... she was even not helpful and she refused to write her name and the employee name which is not right

Refused use of restroom
December 27, 2021

I was at the Ross store in Austin, Tx on Ed Bluestein Blvd and HWY 183. I asked where the restroom was located and the salesperson told me in the back where the fitting rooms. Well after shopping in the store for about 15 minutes, I went to use the restroom and it was blocked off. I asked one of the staff if I could use the restroom she rudely told me I could see it was blocked off (with a clothes rack) because the person was on break and I had to wait for 10 minutes. I told her I would like to use it now that is why I asked her. If they had not been rude I might have waited but at 75, I figured I don't need to hold my bladder until someone comes off their break so I left all the items in the basket and left the store never to return there.

I've been working at Ross for quite a while. Was told if I quit my other job i'd receive full-time as I was needed at the store. Did full time for a few months only for them to drop my schedule down to 20 hours with no notification or given reasoning. Asked for it in writing and received nothing and now they have a new manager that doesn't care about it obviously as it it's not their issue. They screwed me out of living a normal life. I barely made enough locked into my lease with no real way to just switch jobs without missing out on rent. I have called H.R by the way and they never called back if that gives you any indication of the type of way they treat their staff. Being told by a manager that they had to quit because they couldn't tell us that we weren't doing our jobs is insane It's clear they want to shove people out the door no matter what you do. They won't look out for you.

When it comes to actual duties it depends on where you are stationed. If you're locked into the Stockroom you'll eventually break then again my store has had about 4 warehouse managers in three years with everything always changing. Some days they want this, some days they want that. Another thing they justify a 'box' as a unit of measurement when the objects inside said boxes vary. You are required to do a set amount, One box being 6 shoes or possibly 18 shoes or more depending on the day. They want 8 boxes in an hour so you do the math. You tear your flesh apart just to make enough to live off of top ramen.

They promised one Employee that just started $16 an hour and to raise their pay after being there for a while, I called out the past manager ( Brittany) on this and showed her the text she sent to that employee when she tried to deny it.

Overall 3 years with no pay increase and being screwed over. They launched a random investigation, never told me what policy was broken and let me go all over the phone if that's an indication of the type of people you want to work with.

I am making this public as a warning to all future employees at this company

I went to Ross in Addison Texas on beltline and marsh the other day & I had the worst shopping experience of my life time… an older lady with short cut black hair did not greet me she look mad at me, I ask her for a mask & she rudely said that I didn't need a mask, I told her that where in a pandemic & could she give me a mask she replied that she didn't have any. I instructed her that they do have mask on the stand … she opened the door and got a box of mask out, she just held the box like it was nothing in the box so I said to can you give me a mask that's when she gave me one, as I was shopping I ran into her twice she mumbled something under her breathe about me, as I was about yo pay for my stuff she got in line to talk to another employee about me … next thing I know he was watching me, I turned around & ask him was he ok he played it off & said that he was trying to get the cashier attention. That was a lie … I'm thinking about lawsuit

Disappointing
April 4, 2023

I went in to buy a perfume and I found a juicy couture one. For 20$ thinking it was a nice size perfume and I get home and open it and it was so tiny of a bottle that will finish in couple sprays. I was so mad to put a 20$ on a small $#*! bottle of this perfume NEVER AGAIN SHOP HERE FOR PERFUMES. ROSS is a rip off a complete rip off pricy for nothing. Lesson learned.

My Iphone $1,800. Was stolen most likely by Ross employees. Since they refused to check cameras. On 6/8/21 around 3 P.M. Dressing room attendant said a lady found my phone and it was turned to customer service cashier # 9. Security Guard, morning shift was getting off then. The 2nd shift security guard said there was no phone opening one drawer only, he said that the other security guard just left. He asked me to leave a phone number. I requested to speak to manager for that day. They didn't waste any time looking in the drawers for my phone at all. Manager was very rude and careless. She didn't take the time to investigate who received the phone nor gave me access to a phone to speak to police. They totally refused to check cameras for me to see if the security guard walked with my phone or someone else. They acted very suspicious. I think there are thiefs in the Ross stores. Ladies hold to your belonging very secure, there is a risk they steal from you in the that Ross Store. I do have a police report, reporting the incident.

Self checkout
August 1, 2023

This service is a jole says skip lind thats not the case. U have to wait in self checkout line for a staff member to come to u before u cam check out. Thay remove securitty tags and hangers. U go chekout a pay go to leave staff takes ur bag epties it and checks it all against reciept. How is this self checkout? All this took more time then checkout. Get rid of it if this is how ur going to run it.
