Purchased a hard to find head light assembly from "Rock Auto" (a$$ auto) and as they only had one side in stock for my Kia Amanti I received the left side and set the package aside to wait for the other side to become available, which happens to be 5 days after there ridiculous policy, and opened up the box that was in great condition to find another box in very good condition - opened it to find light assembly busted in 3 places! No way to contact a customer service rep even by email. Do not use this company for a fuse, you WILL GET SCREWED! This was money I did not have to just waste.
DO NOT USE_ They don't know what they are doing ANd you can't reach them. I regret ever having heard of them and have wasted days waiting for parts only to have them be for an entirely different engine. I honestly don't know how they are still in business.
I recently purchased a Brake Pad and Rotor kit from RockAuto paying a total of $328.63. Once it arrived, it did not fit my vehicle. RockAuto has a sneaky way of not pointing out directly whether the part fits your car or not. They listed the trim level in the same font and writing as all of the other information so it does not stand out. Other major part sellers such as AutoZone, O'Reilly's, and even Amazon all directly tell you in big, bold, colored lettering that "this does / does not fit your vehicle." They will flat out tell you so you can be sure you're purchasing the correct items the first time. RockAuto does not.
When my parts finally arrived, RockAuto shipped them in 2 separate boxes. However, when I attempted to return the unusable order, they only provided me with 1 discounted shipping label. The second box of products cost me $71.08 to ship back! RockAuto did not have any other options nor was there anyone I could call in order to get some help. I understand RockAuto does not set the shipping rates for other companies but how can they only provide 1 discounted shipping label when they sent me 2 boxes of products? Now I am out $71.08 on top of the discounted shipping label they take away from my refund. I will not be doing business with RockAuto again. Buyer Beware! You are truly on your own if you buy from them.

I had ordered and returned 2 CV axles with a set of brake pads. Cost me 160$ I believe and they refunded me 7$ and some change and claimed they didn't get the CV Axles and kept my 100$ for them. There is no way to call them it's all through Email and they quit emailing me. They lost my order and had to look up my order using the Product number so their system obviously was making mistakes and I said there must be a problem somewhere if you lost my order number so can you please look into that further and find the CV axles in the return department. They never said a word back. It's been over a month. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!
I've ordered about 15 parts total and 7 of them have been wrong. I've tried to return them but I was either outside of the 6 week return date on the parts didn't cost enough for them to send a return box. They don't post a phone a number to speak to a person so that just adds to the frustration. STAY AWAY FROM ROCKAUTO!

Used to be a good company and I, working in the Automotive industry, recommended them... now after a few years have gone by: Recently ordered a Carter fuel assembly; Rockauto shipped the cheaper, economy class part which they label as both "Airtex" E2244M for a higher price and as "ultra-power" for a price cheaper than the Carter: the scam is that when you go back and look, you'll think that the airtex, being more than the Carter, is a deal: it's just the same garbage part as "ultra-power". Then when one attempts to return it: endless cycles of online automated nothing: you are stuck paying 25 dollars more for the "ultra/airtex" or with shipping it back and paying more shipping etc. TOTAL SCAM NOW! See photo for proof: they list the same part number for ultra-power and airtex and both under "economy" but one listed as more than even the "daily-driver" etc. etc. SCAM!
Purchased a Truck Carpet, Arrived Covered in Grease. Contacted RockAuto.com and sent them photos. Response was: "I can see some small grease marks, but only on what appears to be the bottom rubber/plastic portion of the carpet. If you can demonstrate that there are in fact grease stains covering the top of the carpet, we can move forward with a resolution, but as it stands, we would not be able to send you a replacement." I sent more photos showing that the entire carpet was in fact covered in grease - no reply. Their customer service is anti-customer and they find it acceptable to send BRAND NEW automotive carpets covered in grease. They are very slow to reply to me and I had to go so far as to open a paypal claim. Absolutely miserable shopping experience, and worst of all, their refusal to take the return and supply me with a clean carpet is delaying my project as my only free time is over the weekend. This was my first and last time EVER shopping at RockAuto.com. All the positive reviews I see here must have been paid for, because when you have a problem with a $200 carpet, they treat you like absolute garbage. That and I paid $55 in shipping for my order because this company decides it is going to ship from 3 separate warehouses. Absolute incompetence.
A bought a few items from them after "garage squad" promoted them. Then it happened! The aluminum radiator I bought for my Jeep didn't come with the nipples for the transmission fluid lines. That's when I found out they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! All they have is return for refund or replace. THEY HAVE NO PHONE NUMBER! I will never use them again and plan on complaining to Motortrend about false advertising!
First Time To Use RockAuto & The Last// Ordered a TBI for my 1989 GMC V6 4.3 the part number was a match for my truck BUT electrical hookup doesn't match [e.g.] cannon plug on unit totally different than "OEM" also butterfly spring setup is a mismatch from "OEM". "I just ate the cost of the unit. If I had bought the TBI locally I could have just returned it. Little to no customer service & no phone # I just rebuilt my old unit and reinstalled.
They steal your money when sending the wrong parts and you return them dont give you your money back by looking for any excuse to do so. No wonder their review is so low with 1.5 rating.
I needed an alternator for my vehicle - the first one came with the plastic clip smashed and couldn't be installed. I ordered another and guess what, a bolt was BROKEN! Both times I paid for a mechanic to come out and replace the part and I paid for him to come for NOTHING. I guess I didn't return the first part fast enough and they won't take it back.
This site sucks - last time I spend a dollar with them.
This morning, I tried to use my store credit that I received on7/13/23. I put in my information and then put in my store credit number. I had an issue with my card and had to start over. At this point, my store credit was gone. It stated it was not found, been used or had no balance. I immediately reached out to their NON EXISTANT custumer email and I could die before I get a response. While we have ordered from there before and had no issue, I am sure that I will not be recommending them again. Without a good customer service with quick response, it makes you wonder.
Parts under warranty fees were charged so I paid twice for my delivery and the exchange was not by the same manufacturer (lower quality) I deleted my account.
DO NOT BUY FROM ROCK AUTO... unless you want total disappointment and frustration.
When there is an issue with a part they wash their hands to the problem and won't refund your money and expect you to pay return shipping on defective parts.
I have purchased thousand of $$$$ of parts and they stick their nose up in the air like I don't exist.
Recently I have had a few situations where I received defective parts and they won't make good on those parts.
ROCK AUTO HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE ONLY EMAIL RESPONSE AND THEIR ATTITUDE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH ORDER IS YOUR PROBLEM NOT THEIRS.
And now they charge tax and shipping your better off going to your local auto parts stores where they stand behind what they sell.
Do your self a favor and buy local you will save time and aggravation and money.
I ordered a pair of front struts, they sent me 2 rights, one of them not even for the right car.
Then theres NO CUSTOMER SERVICE when you have a problem, and when you return the items due to their professional negligence, they fail to refund the tax which is illegal.
I'm going to report them to the FTC, CFPB, and DA, but I thought you all should know about their fraudulent return process.
Absolutely worst online buying experience to date! I made one order purchasing several items, only for ONE item out of SIX To be shipped properly. I received an email notifying me that magically my address was changed on the other five items I was expecting causing those items to be sent back to the warehouse! Even after contacting them before expected delivery attempting to Correct their negligence, The best solution Ralph in customer service could provide me was it was somehow my fault the address changed even though I received a fraction of my order fine and the rest of my parts even though they was a town away "literally a 30 minute drive" they would have to ship the rest of my items back to their warehouse wait three days then refund my money and I could try ordering again?! I desperately tried to reason The logical solution would be give the correct address to FedEx since my package was on hold waiting on their feedback to give the same address that shipped the first part of my order and would only chance being a day late. You can't reach these guys by telephone only email and "Ralph" who gives you the impression your emailing Helen Keller's ignorant and rude step sister is your only chance of help? I would chance eBay parts out of the darkest depths from China before doing business with these folks again. Ralph your the worse excuse of customer support I've ever experienced. I pray you learn some people skills, common sense, or terminated one. Your skills and work ethics wouldn't be good enough for free community service.
I was sent the wrong headlights. There is NO customer service department to speak with to correct issue. Instead I have to pay for shipping to return an item they messed up.
Ordered rotors & brake pads for my work van, October 5th 2020 with FedEx Ground delivery with delivery date October 22nd 2020 never received my package as a result I had to pay my mechanic to purchase and install brake pads and rotors. FedEx said they delivered package to my house which is a lie disputed charge with American Express Federal Express told American Express my package was delivered which is a lie I have to file second dispute with credit card company to get my $261 they ripped me off for. RockAuto has no in-person customer service which is perfect for them to rip off the customers I'll never order anything from them again and tell everybody I know about my experience. Rockauto sucks you don't even deserve one star. Worst experience I've ever had with a online company my advice to anyone never do business with these people
New radiator from ROCKAUTO leaks. Drove vehicle 8 miles and the new radiator leaks. I didn't like the way it looked inside to start with, but installed it. I'm out of the $325 because it is beyond the 30 day time for returns. Never ROCKAUTO AGAIN.
