Bad business practices
August 22, 2021

I was shipped a clutch assembly kit for my vehicle which promised to be the correct part but upon receipt of the kit it was discovered that it would not fit.
After returning the kit to rock auto, my refund was $100.00 less than my purchase price. They're telling me they won't reimburse shipping costs because it wasn't their mistake.
Don't do business with these thieves, no matter what the cost is to find a real parts dealer.

Your parts are a great price and good quality but your customer service is not so great sent them a message over a week ago and still no answer plus I am not the greatest computer operator there are times when it would be better to talk to a real person

Clueless wonders

Order parts, Rock Auto uses 3 different shippers. Okay i guess that's how they keep prices down. Two of the items show up on time. The 3rd item gets mistakenly sent to Japan. I get the run around from DHL (THE SHIPPER) Rock Auto offers no compensation what so ever! Its been a week and 2 days no package. The Package finally arrives in Canada, the delivery drivers claims he cant delivery the package. Ive had many packages sent to my address, there is a person there to collect packges from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily except Sundays. Endless excuses from Rock auto and DHL. I will not order another part from these clowns. Complete waste of time. If your smart look elsewhere for good sevice and proper shipping.

Lousy customer service

Fed x is the lousy shipper forced on all buyers at rock auto, they have lost part, misdelivered parts, long delivery delays for no known reason, lie and say they tried to deliver and no one was there, ( always at the shop) pull into the drive wat then leave, when you try to contact them you get a computer that follows a script, rock auto wont respond, no real way to contact the either, LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE, autozone advanced, and others are right about their loosing orders then not caring about their customers

If you don't know the part you need go to the morons at a brick and mortar store. Rock Auto is the only time I have got the right parts! I have ordered 17 times or more from them and not one problem. I can't say that from the morons at the part stores. I got so tired going to the partstore and going back because the idiot gave me the wrong part. Many times the parts are half off. If you are an idiot, best for you to stay in your hometown then you and the idiot behind the counter can some day get the right part. For me Rock Auto is the way to go, but I AM NOT A MORON

Shady company

Bought calipers that were "supposed' to fit my vehicle. After finding out that they had sent calipers that would not fit, I followed their directions and returned both items with their return label that I had to pay for! After approximately 2 weeks I received notification that they had received my items and were assessing them to ensure they were complete and unused. Approximately 2 weeks later I received a credit for 1 item and an email that stated if I had returned any additional items they were being assessed as well, After never receiving no credit I emailed customer service inquiring about the 2nd caliper. I was notified that they would check and get back to me. I was notified several days later that their warehouse personnel couldn't find the item therefore no credit would follow. I resent an email asking why would I only return 1 caliper when neither would fit my vehicle! Guess they needed that $80 dollar part to resell to some other individual trying to cheat them as well. Will NEVER buy anything from Rock Auto again and none of friends or family as well, this will cost you more than the 80 bucks you stole from me. You should have done the right thing!

I will NEVER order from this site ever again. They make it nearly impossible to get any corrections made. You can never talk to a real human, they make you go through all these steps to try and get any order fixed just to find out you cant correct it and you have to cancel the whole order to re-order and hope to get a refund for the first one. If your address is changed by the suggestion list and you send it, there's no way to get it corrected without sending it back to the shipper first and starting over. They charge you for sending it back so you dont even get your whole refund. The layout they have you follow for any errors or questions are horrible. They are worse than horrible. If i could, id give them a -3 stars. They stay running bc it's more a scam than a real business in my opinion. Find another.

I ordered a brand new AC Compressor for my Subaru Crosstrek and upon installing the part it worked at maybe half its capacity. I returned the first part for a full refund (to my own amazement) and received the second return part. I had it installed but this time it didn't work at all. I tried to return it but they wanted proof of purchase for more parts that I didn't even need to purchase as I had already purchased them the first time and gave them the receipts already. Terrible quality. Terrible customer service. No capability to cooperate with customers. Definitely should not even be a real business.

I bought an A/C compressor that lasted 3 weeks. It was bought 40 days prior but was not installed until 8 days after I had received it. I was out on a trip and it leaked the Freon out. Took to the mechanic after I got back and compressor was leaking. No refund... Dont buy these chinese parts from this company!

I selected a harmonic balancer for my Toyota from several available. Nowhere on any of the descriptions is there a mention that any of the selections were not compatible with additional pully mounting like my stock one. When I go to return the part they claim they did nothing wrong and charge me half of the return shipping. They offer no option to understand the part listing is inaccurate or how I got tricked thinking I was ordering the correct part. No live help or option to comment like they are not interested in my experience. Sad. Be careful.

Wrong part. Return is a pain.
Return is a pain. They send wrong part. Their part list is not reliable. They list the correct description but the actual part is wrong. They do not refund the full amount. They will only refund a very small portion of the amount. They will refund full but you have to return the item at your cost. I would recommend you shop somewhere else.

I bought 3 Denso coils for a lexus rx 350 the boxes came taped. Denso told me they do not put tape on the boxes. 2 coils look right, but the third one the bag in the box was cut open and had a coil made by AA Ignition, Part # AA111 for a subaru baha in a denso box. Where are these parts coming from? Can you trust any of them? Then they hide behind there web sight. The shipping is a joke too. My road is under construction and fedx will not deliver. Rockauto will not let fedx change the delivery to an an other place like the post office and you cannot contact RA. Then they say it took to much time to be able to return the worng part.

Rockauto are thieves

In Early December 2020 I had ordered a part to fix my daughter's car for X-mas, The part didn't come until February. At that point I had already bought the part locally and installed it and my daughter was off to school. As it had arrived late and I no longer needed the part, I never opened the package. So I decided I would write to return to the item. The program would not let me return the item as it had passed the time limit for returns. So I called my credit card company and reported s fraud. They spoke with Rock auto, they told us to send it baclk, which we did and we have still not received our money back, it is now almost August 2021. We have still not recieved our refund! Horrible company I will never buy from them again.

And not that cheap, not cheap enough to risk getting the wrong part, pay more get parts from a reputable company, plenty out there!
Blatently wrong part, didn't even check the NUMBER!
TIP Always use your credit card for these shady online purchases!
