I ordered 4 brand name shocks. Two were right, two were an off brand. Because they had the same number on the shock, Rockauto said too bad for me through their auto response system. (You cannot speak to anybody.) I am a long time customer and have had other issues in the past but I have made my very last Rockauto purchase ever. Try this... go to their site and play around with an order in an attempt to get your parts to get shipped from the same warehouse.
Ordered a serpentine belt for a 2009 Toyota Prius, arrives. Look it up on several major auto sites including RockAuto to triple make sure it fits. Nope, does not. When I go back to RockAuto it now says it doesn't fit and doesn't show up when you look up a serpentine for that car. Only thing you can do is return and take a total loss with shipping having to pay it twice. Receipt also says no car specified, that's how I found it by entering an 09 Prius and typing in serpentine belt after that! Definitely never giving them my money again.
Just received and installed a new starter motor for my 95 Ranger. Picked the Bosch & installation was a breeze. Starter fires my engine up immediately and is quality built. Shipping was fine, zero issues. Very pleased with my purchase. Dig the lifetime Bosch warranty too- well worth the money. Would give it more stars if I could.
I have made several purchases from Rockauto and have never been displeased. They sell products that range from economy to similar oem quality - just depends on how much you want to spend. Their shipping is not super fast or usually free, but other than that I have always been pleased. I have used their return system twice with absolutely no issues and they resolved the returns extremely quick (though not free of shipping charge). You can be confident when purchasing from Rockauto.
Just bought some brake rotors, followed their menu, got the right year, make of car, model and noted that it's a sedan but the rotors they shipped me DON'T fit. Now I have to pay the cost to return them which is half the cost of the part itself. Shop local, these guys are horrible. Check the internet, lots of complaints!
Took forever to get my items. Recieved the wrong parts, so i sent it back. They said there was signs of dog hair in the package so the item was used (though clearly unused). Rock auto is a unreliable company and they WILL scam you if they are given the opportunity
Received wrong part in the correct packaging. Poor customer service. No phone number, unhelpful responses & difficult return process which they also try to charge you the shipping back to them of the wrong part they sent. Abruptly closed my case following a comment still leaving the issue unresolved. Stay away!
Last Thursday the front brakes on my '99 Grand Am started making noise and I found the pads were worn out. I ordered a new set of pads and a pair of front rotors for it. They arrived Sunday afternoon! My neighbor helped me install them and everything fit and works great now. I have ordered from Rock Auto many times in the past and they ALWAYS come through with the right quality parts. Prices are incredibly low too.! They are awesome!
Ordered a widow regulator for a 2018 Chevy Cruze and was sent one for a 2016, I know this because it was clearly written on the box the part came in. Absolutely no quality control, jam parts out to customers with no regard whether it's correct. Finally got to doing the work and "surprise", it's been more than 30 days so I am stuck with a part I can't use. You can't even talk to anyone. I will bring my business elsewhere.
Rock Auto sold me the wrong engine gasket kit, then refused to take the $124 return. I ordered it by selecting my vehicle type, then the gasket kit that arrived was for a different smaller engine. I filed for a return to which they agreed to give store credit, having received photos from me of the gasket laying on the engine block for comparison. However they went back on their word, saying it was opened. The only way I could have known it was too small was by comparing it with the engine block. They refuse to entertain the notion of compensating me for their website error and going back on their word. I have all the pictures, screenshots and video to back it up. I literally gave them a picture of the gasket sitting on the engine block, and they said I didn't tell them the package was opened. Do not do business with these guys or it could cost you $$$$
My parts were suppose to be in friday. Its now sunday and still dont have all my parts. They completely ripped me off on shipping and still cant deliver anything on time. They shipped from two different locations because all their doing is playing the middleman and ordering from someone else instead of having it themselves. They claim to be cheaper but after they rip you off on shipping thats never on time you could just go to the dealer and still save more money. This always seems to happen with rock auto and i will never shop here again.
I've ordered countless times from rock auto prices are great delivery is almost always faster than expected and they always have the part I'm looking for I've sent in cores easily and have never had an issue. Great site would recommend to anyone
As a long time RockAuto customer (12 years) transactional experiences have become more and more disappointing. Quality of products is not what it once was compounded by a lack of customer service has lead me to purchase from other online automotive retailers. Most recently I was in the process of ordering a rear bumper cover for my latest project. The price shown in the catalog did not match the price when added to the cart, the cart price increased. There was no one that I could reach out to and no one available for online chat. Time for RockAuto to evaluate their customer service strategy! I'm okay with paying a little more with other online automotive retailers and be able to solve any issues in minutes vs. spending hours messing around with RockAuto. Hopefully to all those reading this your RockAuto experience is better. Sincerely, JM
Never using this website again. Ive ordered twice and neither have come on time. They also have the worst customer service in the entire world. I would never recommend this site. Its worth it paying extra elsewhere
If they send you the wrong part or it doesn't fit. You have pay out of pocket to return the items. I been shopping with rockauto for over 10 years. I'll be using Amazon for now on since they have free returns.
Hi, I ordered a new steering rack from Rockauto for my Ford Exp. To oversee (Europe). At first I was concerned because of the many negative reviews. But everything worked out great and super fast. Ordered on Monday and the part was by me on Thursday.
FedEx shipping costs were great too.
Only thing I can complain about was the packaging. Rockauto should pay more attention to better packaging!
We purchased the appropriate autolite spark plugs for our Subaru WRX. One of them broke apart into the motor within two weeks. The car is now unusable for three months.After sending the defective spark plug back … we have been ghosted. So much for great warranty I read about! I can not recommend this company!
Ordered a 500$ condenser that looked used, rusty and it didn't fit but was in the right box. Sent it back and now they got my money and won't replace the part so I'm out the money and part. Wanted me to pay to have the junk one sent back. I've never had such a horrible experience with buying parts. Haha you got me. NEVER AGAIN... AND no phone number and very hard to find an email. Sketchy, I should of known better.
Quality auto parts for much much less than local sales shops. Fast delivery and easy returns if needed. Customer service line to call and assist you as well if your unsure of something. Awesome site and I've ordered parts for my car from here quite a few times and haven't been disappointed, great site!
Rockauto a absolute fraud! No contact to complain too. I made order and realized i put the wrong part. 7 lug instead of 6. Cleared the cart completely out and started over. Apparently rememberd and 7 lug parts anyway after placing order. Now it costing me 20 dollars a box to return for thier mistake. 2 for 2 i will never use again. They totally suck.
