Not Durable

After two years the Ring Doorbell no longer works. For the past 6 months it would lose connection, Live View never worked, chime stopped working... progressively got worse until it no longer works. And yes, we have done EVERY SINGLE THING recommended on the Ring website to fix the problem and a few things recommended online.

The product isn't durable and way too expensive to replace after two years. Most of the new houses in this new neighborhood installed Ring doorbells, and now they're starting to fail.

Horrible customer service

I already inform them the ring wasn't working properly like millions times and they still refuse to do warranty. What a shame! I guess I had to get nest door bell!

Poor performance

While the cameras seem to work "most" of the time, mine would not connect to the hardwired system - doorbell was a nightmare to install and would not work with the hardwired system after that.

Incredible!

At approximately 12:06 am on 11/10/18, I was watching tv in my bedroom & received a motion alert on my ring! I went to investigate and found my 7 yr old nephew sleep walking outside near the garage yelling this brothers name! Thank god for the alert this could have been bad if he entered the street!

They are a nightmare

Customer support is just fine however nothing they've done has made a difference after several interactions with them. You need a super wifi network to make these work as advertised. I have the best wifi I can get... the next step would be a gigabit plan. No way I would recommend them.
The concept is awesome... the reality is a nightmare... look and think long and hard before you buy Ring... I thought I did... I regret my decision. It's been nothing but a headache

Poor Quality

Not compatible with my door chime. In standalone mode does not work at all. Sensor does not pick up movement. Video feed is VERY SLOW and sound is terrible.

I am so very happy that I did reach out to the email from Bilan and a wonderful rep Andrez was so very kind and helpful. THIS is the level of customer service that I expected and have now received. A replacement is on the way! We love our Ring system and understand that sometimes equipment fails. That was never the issue. We just wanted to get a new unit from the warranty coverage so that our home was protected. Thanks Andrez!

We purchased the doorbell and loved it so much, we added the entire security system and stopped using Arlo. 5 days ago, our unit just died. The keypad was locked into Arm mode and we had to unplug everything. Several tries to reboot accomplished nothing. This morning, hubby tried to 'chat' and after 38 minutes it was supposed to be resolved and we were getting a replacement unit ordered. Then, we get this bizarre email telling us we abruptly ended the chat. I am beyond livid as he kept telling them he could not stay online. He just got out of ICU but was so concerned about no alarm system right now that he sat up way longer than he is allowed right now at the PC AND then he started having pain. We asked multiple times to have it escalated to a manager or supervisor without success. SURELY someone in the company, particularly as you are connected to AMAZON who has outstanding customer service, must actually care about the horrid level of service. I have the chat staff name but will not post it here. I also have a copy of the entire chat. Until they get their act together, I highly recommend finding another service or at a minimum purchase from Costco or Amazon who actually provide customer service.

I want to tell everyone reading this that they should not purchase any product from Ring as they have a terrible support system with long waits on hold, and that they do not stand behind their product. I purchased a Ring video doorbell about a month ago and have run into problems from the beginning. First, the message that someone was at my door and the ring did not work. Contacted the company and they "fixed" it but after a couple of days, the same problem appeared. The notification message appeared only occasionally when the doorbell was rung, and frequently, the notification message took as much as 10 minutes to appear on my phone. Again I contacted Ring, worked with a support person and to my surprise was told that they no longer supported my phone event though it was powered by Android. Their website said such Android phones were appropriate for use with their products, but apparently they had changed the rules and did not post it so I was stuck with a doorbell that was not functional. I was told to contact my phone company for help. I worked with the company for 2 hours and it seemed to be fixed but the next day the problem reappeared. They I received a message from Ring that my trial period was over and I either paid up to get my videos or they would not allow me to view them. This final racket made me disconnect the doorbell, and throw it away. I tried to email the company but they do not have that service. I lost $200 on this deal as I could not return the doorbell. While I lost money I am glad to be rid of their product and would advise everyone to not purchase their products. They do not guarantee the product and if you need help, good luck with getting through to their support team. I wasted a couple of days on phone hold just to be told they could not help me.

Always buffering when I need to go live. Never catch any of the actions and motion you need and want. A car accident right in front of the house and did I catch it No. My neighbors handicap ramp stolen broad daylight, right across the street. Did I get it on recording NO! My neighbors. Came over cause I said I had ring and they wanted to know if they should get one. I said he'll no. I'll be selling these $#*!s on eBay or Craigslist and getting some real Hardline $#*!.

Built (NOT) to last...

I guess many of us bought doorbells around 2 years ago, seemed like a good idea at the time even though quite expensive. And it seems the doorbells do not have a very long lifespan as I can see from previous reviews. Ours has never been "right" always had battery issues (which customer no-service denies) and now it only works intermittently. Example: The doorbell goes off when the wind blows a leaf on a tree but NOT when the UPS driver comes to my door with a new computer in his arms! I am sure it is on its way to a landfill soon. And I cringe when I see the new ads for their security system. NO WAY would I trust my security to their unreliable product.

Support is a joke

Over an hour on "ignore" to try and add ring support to my account. TERRIBLE!
Cant order basic plan online, only expensive monitoring plan. Over 30 minutes on website chat to get nowhere. Called in to order, 30 minutes to pay $30. Unbelieveable.

Ring Doorbell Pro just suddenly stopped working! Rep said it's a known issue but we are outside of warranty. It just shorts out and stops working! He said it's even happened to him and they can't do anything about. Ring Doorbell Pro is too expensive to only last 2 years!

CON ARTISTS!

Smooth talking customer service.
Ring does not work in large homes. Camera requires strong wifi which requires upgrade and professional installation. They lie about returns and refunds. You pay to mail equipment back. Took me 2 months, 4 phone calls, 1/2 hr to 1hr on phone each time and to date ring has not refunded my money. They lied about installation 20 mins to 2 hrs acutally meant 3-4 days! If equipment malfunctions you get to hold 1/2 hr on phone to then you get to trouble shoot equipment with incompetent con man #1, then you get handed off to a supervisor con man #2. An hour later you get to return equipment for exchange. But wait they must test it and deem it faulty... but you are not done yet they need to give you some tracking number nonsense etc., all for a $20 malfunctioning sensor!. Agonizing waste of time for equipment that dosen't work! I give these sails people a 5 star as con artist!

Ring doorbell is junk

Ring doorbell is not that old and keeps losing the WiFi connection. Also the light has Burned out. You have to remove it from the wall in order to reset it.

This RING thing is a great idea and when it works, it's fantastic. Key words, when it works. I have been fighting problems from day one! I've been convinced that it was my WiFi, then it was a battery problem and I need a solar charger, then a WiFi booster, which I bought from them and it made absolutely no difference. Today I get a message that it could not connect because of low battery, well the battery is at 49%. My $2.00 flashlight works until the battery is dead, not half dead. 2 years this has been going on. I'm finished! I would not recommend RING to an enemy. Do your own research, but I would suggest you buy a different product. I'm looking for my replacement but haven't decided.

System did not function from the first moment. Service calls last over 1 hour to no avail. Each service representative will provide a different possible solution, contradicting the prior rep. No success and they just want you off the phone. Do not buy any of their products.

Poor customer support
October 6, 2018

Ordered ring alarm on Sept 23 on ring.com. Has yet to ship as of Oct 6th. Keep getting lied to by Ring support when it will ship. No response to email asking about shipping. If it's out of stock or other issue why not be truthful.
Yet on Amazon who owns Ring you can get two days shipping.
Ring did reach out to me and finally did receive the alarm. Shouldn't take this much effort to receive alarm

Started out with a Ring 2 /professionally installed by security company as courtesy with security system. Alerted to every car down street and doorbell never worked. Customer support, upgraded to Ring Pro professionally installed at my expense. Does not work, no doorbell, though each chime shows connected. Installer could not get support. I cannot get support. Have paid for two Rings that don't work and are junk! NO SUPPORT!

Stay away from this company! Only reason they are in business is because of suckers like me and neighborhood organizations who give people worthless deals. No company support just total lip service! Buyer BEWARE

This was one of my worst experiences as a consumer. Forewarned is forearmed.

Company needs a new CEO who has just a little integrity!

My ring worked well however they now want to charge me for the video recording space. This was NEVER talked about prior to my purchase. Got a notification on my phone thru ring that my video recordings would disappear in x days if I don't sign up and give them my credit card data. The cost is 3$ a month or 30$ a year for the recordings. I am extremely upset about this otherwise I would have never bought this product knowing there was a continuous cost for its operation. Absolute hidden rip off! Buy something that offers the monitoring for its product life, otherwise you will be paying for it over and over again.
