The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly resume-building platform, which is praised for its intuitive design, effective templates, and time-saving capabilities. Many customers express satisfaction with the polished results and helpful prompts that enhance their resumes. However, concerns regarding the transparency of pricing practices are prevalent, with some users feeling misled by the marketing of free access. Additionally, issues with customization options and the accuracy of information fetched have been noted. Overall, while the service is highly regarded for its quality and ease of use, addressing pricing clarity could further enhance customer trust.

Cancelled my trial version before the 14 days was up, because hey I don't mind paying about $1 but really, they still charged me $39.95 even after I canceled. Then I called their customer service, which was horribly rude and snobby, and kept interrupting me. They told me the only proof I can give them to get my almost $40 back was by sending them a screenshot of the confirmation email that I should have gotten from them when I cancelled. However, I never received a conformation email saying I cancelled my subscription! How am I supposed to provide proof when they purposely ain't giving me any. I can smell this evil scam!
Why are you scamming innocent people?
I needed an resume for school so I used this website to help me, which ended up costing me $42. After the 14 day trial which costs $1.95 they automatically charge you $40 for a subscription, which is beyond ridiculous. Customer service is absolutely horrible and will not help one bit. Best advice is to use a different website.
They lure you in by promising a free downloaded resume after using their software. Their software works OK but the free download is just plain text with no format of a resume at all. If you want a the resume you've built using their sit then you have to choose one of two plans. The first is a 14 day trial period for $1.95 the second is 7.95/month. I chose the month option. What I found out next was that they charged me $95.00 for the whole year. Even after I cancelled my subscription the charge was the same. The website states customers may be given a refund if it's within the 14 day trial period but so far they won't answer the phone. All I get is what sounds like an answering machine asking to leave a message with my number and telling me the hours of their business. Problem is I've been calling during the correct hours even with the time difference. They don't answer. Then I decide to search for reviews and I find hundreds of people they have ripped off. I don't think I'm going to get my money back. I'm currently unemployed, that's the whole reason I used their site. Do they really think people like me have $95.00 to lose? Avoid these people at all cost. Don't be a sucker like me.
THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATELY RUN BUSINESS- THEY STEAL MONEY AND THEY CHARGE YOU FOR FEES NOT MENTIONED FOR NO REASON AND THEY HVE FALSE ADVERTISING- ABSOLUTE SCAM AND DISGUSTING PEOPLE. I WANT THEM PUT IN JAIL FOR THIS
This place sucks. I thought I had 1 more day to cancell before they charged me full price. They charged me and wouldn't refund after telling them I forgot to cancell. I guess this is the ONLY way this company can make money.
They stole $40 from my credit card. I'm not sure how this isn't illegal. Don't get duped, STAY AWAY FROM THE SCAM!
All these 5-star reviews are a big laugh. They all come on the same day? They are obvious fakes here to push down all the true 1-star reviews reporting about this scam shop.
Rudest people ever. Bait and switch scam built to trick you into buying a $2 resume with your credit card so they can charge you $40 2 weeks later.
I thought it was free. It wasn't. Then I thought it was $2. It wasn't. I got a credit card bill for $40!?!?!?!?! For what? An ugly worthless looking resume? Avoid this bait and switch.
Buyer Beware when working with ResumeGenius.com! If you do decide to use this company please be aware that when the trial period ends you will be charged regardless of your situation. If you forget to cancel within the 14 day period they will automatically charge you $39.95/month (yes folks that is per month) until you log onto their site and cancel your membership. If you are like me and forgot to cancel and logged on several months later your deal of a resume for $1.95 will end up costing you $200+. I tried to call into the company admitting my mistake of forgetting to cancel my membership and they were unwilling to even meet me 1/2 way. I asked them to check my account to see that I hadn't logged on or used the account within the past 5 months and was coldly informed by their Customer Service Rep that they had no way of telling when I logged on and used the account. If you make the mistake and forget to cancel you will find no sympathy from this company. I would have thought ResumeGenius.com would want to leave their trial and past customers with a positive vibe so that we return for future business and recommend their site to family/friends. Instead I was left feeling that I was disposable as a customer to ResumeGenius.com and they had no interest in ever having me as a customer in the future.
Monthly charges are never told to you on the purchase or resume builder page. They hide them in the 3 page terms and conditions somewhere buried in the middle. I cancelled my membership but they waited until after the billing cycle to respond and ell me i was "legally" responsibly for the fees since i didn't cancel in time. This site is trash and nothing but a group of low lives who have nothing better to do then steal from people clearly looking for work. This site should be shut down
What a sham! Spend an hour making your "free" resume then have to pay $2 for it. Then they charge your $40 and refuse to refund it?!?!?!?!? STAY AWAY!
This company advertises free resumes and of course they charge you $39.95, but not only for the one-time you create a resume on their site, but continually every month until you realize you have paid at least 2 or 3 months for nothing. I would have paid $39.95 for the resume I created, although it could just as easily have been done in WORD - the quality was representative of what a free resume service should be. However, I was billed 3 times before I was able to catch it and figure out how to cancel the service. I travel a lot so don't have time to review my credit card accounts in detail every month, and I imagine a lot of business people are in the same situation. Beware and do not deal with this scam of a service. I don't understand why these type businesses are allowed to operate.
SCAM. Immediately cancel your card. They will charge you multiple times. Contact your bank to DISPUTE ALL charges. They will investigate the company/charges for you. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED NOW! SCAM SCAM SCAM. Kelly
I googled "free" resume templates. These people came up. I went through the process and sure enough, in order to receive an actual resume I could download there was a cost. I decided not to take the time and redo the entire process with someone else only to get the same result so I signed up for the $7.95 monthly plan. My credit card was instantly charged $95.40 for a yearly membership. There was nothing to indicate I was signing up for a year. I immediately contacted the company requesting a refund and there attitude was "tough luck pal, you're stuck".
The positive reviews on this company are clearly written by employees, etc. I would avoid this company at all costs.
Resume Genius was of no help in creating my resume. Cancelled my subscription and they still charged my card $39.95 per month. This is a scam. On top of that my bank charged me a foreign transaction fee. I guess they are based in Cypress.
I signed up for a 2 week trial. Yes you guessed it. No one told me I had to cancel or I would be charged $39.95 per month. Do not use it, It is a money scam. Also my credit card company had to send me a new card because they said my card had been compromised.
Learned my lesson. Will not sign up for any trial subscriptions again.
I was just so amazed at how simple and convenient it was to create a resume using Resume Genius. They promised a quality resume in 10-15 minutes and they went delivered! As a single mother of two who had just been laid off, I don't have much time on my hands and was in such a rush to get this done as soon as possible so I can find a new job. But with the help of Resume Genius, I was able to create a professional resume that I feel confident about within a fraction of the time it would take if I had tried to do it on my own!
