About Me

Average hard working American who can't afford to be taken advantage of by online fraudulent scams. I only wish everyone would research questionable sites and read reviews like those posted on this site first. I have to admit that I'm guilty of not following my own advice at times and I end up paying the price for it by being taken advantage of. I only hope I can reach others and help them avoid being taken advantage of too.

How I Can Help

I spend a lot time on the internet and search for legitimate sites through reviews. Anytime I can help save someone from being robbed I will offer my assistance.

Interests

Really my favorite things are those that are simple. Family, friends things like that.

  • Opera Software

Opera web browser has been around since 1994 and gets its roots from a Norwegian telecommunications company before forming its own company Opera Software ASA in 1995. What can I say about this browser? More like, What can I not say. This latest Opera build is sleek and stylish with well thought out design and function. Kick on the dark theme and suddenly slickness and style become sophisticated. There are a ton of bells and whistles including FREE VPN with no data limit, free ad block, duck duck go default search engine doesn't log your searches, turbo mode when not using the VPN, start screen called Speed Dial has your most frequented sites at the ready. Also stunning "live" wallpaper for the speed dial screen. Free screen shot capture. A side bar that's transparent and out of the way containing quick access to messenger, what's ap, bookmarks, my flow, settings and more. All easily customizable from the settings menu. I love it. It's safe, reliable, offers tons more options and is pleasing to the eye. These are just a few of the things you get with Opera. You ought to try it and judge for yourself. They don't track you, what do you have to lose?

Everybody has their own favorites for ant virus/malware programs and good reasons why. However, I chose to stay the middle coarse and go with 360 total security by Qihoo, a Chinese provider of free anti virus and related applications. It's not silent and in the background like some programs and its not in your face so much that you get tired of it like other programs. It also doesn't tease you with features you have to pay for, although they do offer a paid version. With the free version you get anti virus plus programs that speed up your boot time, clear useless files and such from your hard drive, registry cleaner, browser protection, firewall protection, game booster, document protector, system back up cleaner, disk compression, ransom ware tool, connection to 360 via the cloud, a tool box to open ify programs, PUP protection and more. You do have to check for updates on your own but so far I'm virus free and have been alerted to questionable websites. One of my favorite features is the it clocks your boot time then gives you the option to optimize your start up processes. This has been a valuable tool for me. I hate waiting even 3 minutes for my PC to boot. So far I've shaved it down to 59 sec. And everything runs fine. If your stuck on which antivirus program to chose or if you feel like taking it for a TEST drive please do. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, do the research Qihoo has some smart people working for them. 360 Total Security ranks near the top in a lot of reviews. I must say however, that even though I'm giving them a good review I still have Malwarbytes and Avira on standby. You know just to be sure.

If your like me or at least some of you are like me then you might have a few files, pictures, documents etc., that you may want to keep private and secure. What better way to secure these files than with a password and encryption. Rohos.com provides you with an easy, secure format for doing just that. You navigate to their website, download their free app, (they offer a paid app as well which lets you secure more that 8GB), set it up, add a password and Viola it's done. The app is installed on your flash drive directly and not your PC hard drive. This means you can take your thumb drive anywhere and access your files directly. There were a few steps to setting this up so I would read the download instructions carefully if your not that tech savy. All in all I found this an easy, secure way to keep my private files private. No adware, spyware are malware found at this time. If things change I'll update my post.

This is a SCAM. There is no other way to put it. They advertise a free trial but they'll bill your acct anyway, usually multiple times even after you close your acct with them. They make it difficult to end the free trial because you have to cancel more than one trial basic, premium and more. I was re directed to DonnaPlay by a file download site saying I needed to create and register an acct with DonnaPlay first. I did that but found no connection between the sites. Then I noticed they had withdrawn funds from my acct not once but three days in a row. I think I'll have to close my acct and get a new debit card to stop it. People like this are THIEVES you just can't see them.

They lure you in by promising a free downloaded resume after using their software. Their software works OK but the free download is just plain text with no format of a resume at all. If you want a the resume you've built using their sit then you have to choose one of two plans. The first is a 14 day trial period for $1.95 the second is 7.95/month. I chose the month option. What I found out next was that they charged me $95.00 for the whole year. Even after I cancelled my subscription the charge was the same. The website states customers may be given a refund if it's within the 14 day trial period but so far they won't answer the phone. All I get is what sounds like an answering machine asking to leave a message with my number and telling me the hours of their business. Problem is I've been calling during the correct hours even with the time difference. They don't answer. Then I decide to search for reviews and I find hundreds of people they have ripped off. I don't think I'm going to get my money back. I'm currently unemployed, that's the whole reason I used their site. Do they really think people like me have $95.00 to lose? Avoid these people at all cost. Don't be a sucker like me.
