“The best website i could find after spending ages looking...”

The best website i could find after spending ages looking for help with my resume was this one. There really isnt any completely free help online for resume writing, despite what u might think when googleing. $5 got a 7-day trial - i just wrote my resume and downloaded it there and then, and made sure i cancelled via the site immediately after i signed up (this is the best thing to do, after researching online it seems a lot of people dont cancel and end up paying every month). Other than that, the site is easy to use, its got a few different styles u can choose from, and i got myself a interview next week so it seems to be effective! Good luck to all the other job seekers out there! ;)

“Refund”

I've recently asked for a refund back due to their service, they didn't meet the standards I was looking for when using their website so I cancelled my subscription with them a week before it was going to renew. A week later I had $39.95 withdrawn out of my account so I asked for a refund and they said it'll come in between 5-10 days. It's been two weeks and I still have not received my refund back, I am mad that not only has their service not meet my standards, they couldn't give me back my refund that I asked for in the given days I was told to wait.

I allowed someone who was working on their resume to use my card for a trial. Yes they advertise as a free resume site then when you go to download your work, they tell you that you MUST sign up for trial in order to print your resume. Thought the account was already cancelled but was charged a matter of hours after it expired and they refused to refund my money. Very deceitful in their practices. Customer svc agent was rude, kept cutting me off and talking over me. Like I said above DON'T DO IT, not with these guys.

This is a cool website. I wasn't convinced by the resume builder aspect of it at first, so I started looking through the the numerous resume writing tips that they give you. They also had a ton of resume examples, so I looked through those and found one related to my field, which is medical work. I realized my resume was pretty lacking and didn't look nearly as good as the one they had on the site.

So I tried out the resume builder and produced a ridiculously professional looking document. I tried out the trial and used their cover letter too. I don't know, people really seem to respond to resumes that simply look better, even if the content was somewhat similar (the builder helped me write really concise, but information packed sentences.)

Was totally worth it for me. Rated 5 because the site is full of good, free information, and the resume builder is all that it's cracked up to be.

You're much better off creating a resume yourself or on a different site. The services they offer aren't even good. They don't make it clear that you're going to be paying $40 MONTHLY for this, and customer service is absolutely useless and rude. They know how much they're scamming people, and preying off the fact 99% of people don't realise they're being charged. Please don't make the same mistake I did!

They do not make it clear that you will be charged $40 a MONTH after the trial service. It is a paid $2.00 trail but their silence after the trial period ended shows they rely on tricking people into continuously using their services.

I finished using this resume builder and had a new resume for my job applications in the Data Entry and Admin industry. I received a several interview offers with this new professional resume. One interviewer even complemented my resume. The builder is easy to use and for $4.95 I couldn't be happier as I got a job 2 days ago.

Spent my time working on my resume and when i finished and wanted to download it, I needed to buy a 14 trial. Bought the trial and still couldn't download it. I called their number and it took me to an insurance advertisement. Practically a scam.

Unless you want to pay at least $40 for your resume. You can do the same thing with Microsoft Docs or Google. And customer service wasn't friendly either.

I bought a 14 day trial with them and forgot to cancel it. They automatically renewed my account charging $53.64 CAD, I called asking for a refund and they refused to give me my money back. They said it's their policy to cancel before the trial ends and they don't give refunds even though I didn't use any of their services or even login to their website after my 14 day trail. I didn't get an e-mail the day before reminding me they are going to charge. I feel like I was scammed 50 bucks. They told me what day my trial would end, but they sent it to me the day I bought it. Sure, it's my fault for forgetting to cancel my account two weeks later, but the fact they refused to give my money back shows where their real priorities lie.

I just spent the last 2 hours building a resume and the site messed up and deleted my completed resume before I could download it. Customer service basically said sorry... wish I would have read the reviews before...

If its to good to be true your right it is, you spend time thinking your getting someing done and spend a couple of hours being conned. I had questions before i paid i got no answers thru help line, chat line or web site, know why they dont answer, or there closed or there busy they want your money and then make it hard to stop getting charged. I will take this to the better business bureua, its sites like this that need to be stopped.

What a rip off! My son went in for a $4.95. I looked at the credit card yesterday and over $300 later We are still being charged! If the service is so good then why do they feel the need to trick people into over paying for the service?

I'm not sure about the other reviewer but I've had a great experience with their product. Exporting to text file is actually free (I guess the other reviewer didn't bother to read the website) and since thats all I needed to post my resume to monster and careerbuilder, it was perfect for me.

I needed to write a resume and searched Google to see if there was a site that helped. Resume Companion was listed and seemed to have some recommendations, so I used it. I was not aware that there was any charge, however, after I had written the resume I found that I had to pay a minimal amount to get a copy of what I had typed. It cost $1.95 for that including a cover letter product that I did not know about. After the 14 day trial, which I did not cancel, my bank was charged $39.95 a monthly charge for the account. The site would cancel my account then at my request but would not refund the monies. I did not notice that there would be a charge initially and had no idea that the monthly charge would be twenty times the cost of the trial access. I think I will make more of a difference between Google's ad listings and search results now. The help in getting the resume written quickly was nice (quite nice, however, someone on the internet could have offered a comparable service--at least what I used--at no charge), however, the unexpected charges and the quickly stated company policy about no refunds for dissatisfied customers after receiving the $39.95 charge felt like being tricked and being mistreated. It reminds me of other services online that seem to ensnare into more expensive versions--who would choose that if they knew? The person from the company who I chatted with said that the prices were not hidden and were not in fine print, and they were included in the sales receipt. I didn't see the $39.95 anywhere except in my bank account :) and as another reviewer said, it was even a surprise to me from what I could see online to have to pay to get a copy of the resume because I had not seen before finishing the resume that I'd have to pay to get a copy of it. Now, if there were other options or more evident listing of such important information (and there might have been; it might be legally required!), wouldn't a nice product make sure you knew about them? Yes, it would. Otherwise it wouldn't be a nice product.

I made a resume, which was simple and easy. I knew i was going to pay 4.95 and would automatically be enrolled in their trial period which is 35 dollars every month unless you cancel it. So, i went back to the website two days after making my resume and the website told me that I was no longer enrolled in the trial. (I assumed I wouldn't be charged) Well, they still charged me. I called their customer service and asked for a refund and told them what the website told me. They said they could refund 80% of the $35. I said okay, it was probably my mistake and I misread something. They then told me that I must verbally state that I won't file a dispute with my bank. That sounded really fishy! So I contacted my bank and they told me to never verbally agree to that. I just filed a dispute with my bank yesterday ;) SCREW RESUME COMPANION. I am sure they are a scam website.

The website allows you to waste however much time you spend making a resume (30 min in my case) only to when you finish tell you that in order to do anything even export your resume you have to pay an auto renewing fee. The website also -to prevent anyone from keeping all their information they just typed- dissallows right clicking. So no spell check and no copy and paste. This alone makes your resume garbage unless you type every word somewhere else to spell check or just have a dictionary handy. And if you export a text file it comes up jumble garbage that is unreadable. It's one of the worst websites I have ever been to.

Just like someone else's review on this site, resume companion screwed me over for thirty dollars. I used the trial for 4.95 or whatever it was and it did tell me that it would change to another package unless i cancelled. Well how do you cancel, no option to call anyone just a link to customer support, which they claim they strive for 100% customer satisfaction. So i email... nothin. Oh, and i have a life so i dont have time to deal with this all day! I best get that thirty dollars back... I cant stand places like this that stay afloat because they deceive just enough people to make their money. BOOOOO

I signed up for the trial, they were nice enough to send an email reminder that I would be charged unless i cann celled. So I went to the cancel my subscription link and it said pro had expired so I assumed it was canceled. Well now I get charged $30 bucks and I take a look at that link now it has a cancel button where before it didn't. What a big fat scam.

Its my fault I should have known better with these trial scams. So beware there is no cancel button until they charge your acct for the $30 then you'll see the cancel button.

The second resume scam site I've come across so far. So many EMPTY PROMISES! And I'm 99% sure the same company as I reviewed before, just using another domain and slightly different setup for the same means of stealing money from unsuspecting customers.

On its MAIN website, before you've registered, input any information, it very plainly says that registration is not required and that you can 1-click export to PDF or Word format.

NOT. TRUE. An absolute scam and lie! They at least let you download a. Txt file, but anything past that requires a 'trial', which you will find with any similar services will continue to bill you for $30/month unless you jump through major hoops and dispute the charges.

You CANNOT USE THIS WEBSITE FOR FREE TO PRODUCE A MEANINGFUL DOCUMENT. Absolute waste of time! They even get money from suckering you in to join job web sites and other promotions from which they get sponsor money if you are tricked into registering by their false statements. I honestly thought I had found a worthwhile service until I reached the end, but I should have seen from the start with a few unavoidable ads they would require you to pay to get something worth using.

CANNOT EXPORT TO PDF UNLESS YOU PAY THEM. They blatantly lie and deceive you from the landing page.

People these days don't take the time to read, and thats unfortunate. After reading all plan options I went with the Pro account or whatever it's called and got my resume back in 2 days fully critiqued. I saved a PDF for emailing to employers as well as a. Docx to modify in the future. Having the ability to have a professionally formatted and edited resume on hand for future use is well worth the 30 bucks.
