I was misled into one of those national booking sites which did not work at all. I just returned to the Fairmont site and things went smoothly from there.

Online I booked the two queen bed room. The default was 2 people. I tried to change it to 3 people that will be on this reservation. I could not. I called the reservation desk and was told they could not alter a reservation. I got the direct phone number of the hotel and was told to call tomorrow and ask about the number of people that can be in this reservation and there might be an additional charge.

They make their website look like the actual hotel website. The website said FREE cancellation. After booking I had a question about parking so I called the hotel. They informed me that I had not actually booked through them. They had a park and fly package which was a better price than Reservation Counter provided so I called to cancel that reservation. I was told there was a cancellation fee of almost the entire amount of the booking - about 90%! I told him what the website said and he told me I would have to prove it because the confirmation email I received said otherwise. I told him it was a scam and that he knew it.
