Absolutely horrible horrible service and customer service! Would be a negative star review if I could. I called several times about the placement of my trash cans by their men. They placed my trash cans right in middle of my driveway where I was unable to get around them and I live on a relatively busy road with nowhere to go to get out and move the trash cans. I would be forced to stop in middle of my road, get out with the risk of getting hit, and move the cans as quickly as I could. ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE ALSO EVERY RECEIVED! They don't care about their customers in the slightest.

I have spent hours calling and complaining about the garbage service at my business. There have been numerous tomes where the truck drivers have not picked up our dumpster.

Sometimes it has been because the homeless has turned our dumpster over or simply made a mess and scattered the garbage. As a small business, we are mostly ignored and our services are not performed as paid for. Recently, we have fabricated steel paddle locks hasps on the dumpster and provided our own locks. We buy the locks 4 at a time because the dumpster divers break a lock every other week.
Mind you, Republic did nothing but promise us a "site review" over and over without that ever happening.

I have spent hours on hold on the phone and have had to take our business garbage home to use our Pacific Sanitation service. The difference between the 2 garbage companies is night and day. I believe it is wrong that we are forced to do business with Republic Services and the monopoly they hold on us in Salem, Oregon.
Once again on Thursday, January 12,2023, the drivers didn't pick up our 1-yard dumpster. We didn't notice until tonight, Saturday 21,2023, when we needed to take out our garbage from our two buildings.

The driver and their dispatch didn't inform us.

So, we are stuck this weekend with a dumpster crammed full.
Republic Services is a horrible company with horrible customer service and does not do the services they are paid for yet we are forced to do business with them. I wonder who is getting the kickback for arranging that?

Worst service ever
August 12, 2021

Missing pick ups three times in a row! Before that they installed organic and recycle bins and charging me 150$ for two and didn't pick it up for 5 month! After I called to ask why my rates are so high they refused to credit me for 5 month. Ending is best, I called to cancel service and they said my account representative will give me a call back, and guess what HE DIDN'T CALL ME FOR 3 WEEEKS! I CAN'T CANCEL SERVICE!

They are horrible! They brought me a trash can with a big hole in it. Promised to switch it out but never showed up. This isn't the only bad experience with them. Don't use them!

Fraud + scam

This company will not provide you the services you request and still send you an invoice. We had service for a bin and for it to be emptied twice a week. We are not always onsite so it is an honor system that they will come and empty the bin When they miss a pick up I have to call them & tell them the driver missed our account. If I didn't call they would have just charged me as if I had received the service. They say the driver did not send a note of missed service. This happened at least 1 time if not more each month. I had to pay one of our guys to go to the site each Mon. & Thurs to be sure the bin was emptied. They have no quality control or customer service other than what the customers provide. They steal your money and pretend to provide service. Who knows how many other accounts they have been scamming like this over the years. They probably only go back and do the work if they are caught. Since we are in a City that requires us to use this sham of a company we had no choice. Fortunately we have just moved and no longer will be gouged by these crooks.

Lazy Drivers
May 10, 2023

Only had the service for 3 months and stopped services. The drivers are lazy and don't want to work. They called on me every week for not moving my can to the street but when I canceled they had not problem getting out to take half my trash out to put in the grass. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!

Terrible

I used republic for several years, the drivers are great, nothing to complain about there. The rest unfortunately is not so great. They verbally quoted a price over the phone then did not honor it, I got an annual rate so I was stuck paying another invoice and doing another year. Prior to the end of the service period, I asked for an annual quote, they are excessively higher than another so I cancelled their services three weeks prior to the end of my current cycle. Now the fun begins, I was told they can pick up the cans or I can drop them off, no mention of a charge to pick them up. Turns out they want to bill me $30 per can to pick up and service fees, two cans totaling $129. I could have and would have dropped them off had I been informed of these excessive fees. Now, after four attempts to speak with a manager, I am getting emails from collections for the $129 (30 per can and fees, ridiculous charges). As for the services, they are very good at telling you they will be late on a scheduled pick up, happens often on either trash or recycle, and your cans will sit out for the day or occasionally the next day. My new provider has not been late or missed. Republic is often late and missed.

I just wanted to thank Republic garbage services for all you do I love y'all I will never go back to Scotty's I've had y'all for 6 years never once have I been dissatisfied or unhappy and I tell everyone I know about y'all I get you a couple of customers a year thank you so much for all you do

Republic Services has an amazing team of professional, probably one of the best, friendly, prompt, very helpful, just truly awesome people and service. I have a little strip mall in Brooksville and stuck with other company for 3 years, couldn't wait for the contract to expired. I have spoken to one of the reps. At Republic Services several years before and if I knew then what I know now, I would have just paid the fine to get out of the other company and sign up with Republic services much sooner. Should anyone have to pay a fine to break the contract, it's truly worth it to go with this great company, which is very responsive, friendly and helpful.

Warren has an amazing memory, he remembers spoken to me many years prior and still taking a great care of any questions, concerned I had and solve issues immediately, just amazing.
I spoke to a super friendly, enthusiastic and eager to help, name Samara Alexander. She was so patience, explained so many questions I had and best yet, followed up. At the end of several calls, I was as impressed with this company as I compared them to any excellent customer services of any luxury hotels. Then, on top of all these, I got a call from Yvonne (apologize for the spelling) introduced herself (super friendly)
You all have earned a very loyal customer, and should anyone have doubt having to pay others to get out of any contracts, it is "worth it" to just pay and switch to Republic Services; you will not regret. The other big company wills un-reasonable price gouging, missing pickup and no caring customer services.

Hello my name is Andy I've been living in Wakefield for 20 years, I have never seen a recycle company work so hard than the young man that work Wakefield recycle, he makes sure my barrels are always back in place he picks up the trash that the wind blows away nd still have time to give a smile nd play with my grandkids, I believe his name is Alexis,Replublic services has a great worker on hand thanks again Replublic for ure services.

Trash man: " John Egan " decided to be extremely rude and give additude ontop of LYING about the previous trash pickup. Not only was I threatened and insulted in the end process, he attempted to bring up my work ethic without knowing anything about me, with my mother presented he was disrespectful as hell considering my mother is partially blind. The list goes on, gotta love republic trash services... what a joke. While remaining as calm as possible and attempting to diffuse the situation in the end we were STILL stuck with trash, being forced to wait for next week even though said boxes are FILLED with trash.

Worst Billing Ever
November 23, 2020

Turns out I had two accounts; one for yard waste and one for garbage. I kept receiving late payment notices even though I had paid. When they mailed that they would shut down service, I paid (again) over the phone. Prior to Republic purchasing our local trash service, we had one account. First, I couldn't get anyone on the phone, only the toll-free to pay. The local number on my bill was disconnected. When I finally got a local number, after 30 minutes of me providing bank information showing i not only paid, but OVER paid, we figured out I had over $300 credit on the Yard Waste account and was past due on the regular service. I was told they were going to transfer the credit balance to the other account, still leaving an overall credit balance. I asked to be mailed the credit balance and was told she couldn't.

But the worst was when i got ANOTHER bill for $41.72 for accrued late fees, which they said they would remove given i actually overpaid AND they turned me over to a collection office.

I have invested hours in trying to sort this out and they send my $41.72 in unfairly charged late fees to a collection agency while I still have a credit balance on the other account. Both accounts in the same name, address, etc. I was never told I had two accounts. Again, we only had a single account with CHEF (purchased by Republic) and they invoiced us for both services on one bill.

Tomorrow I get to try, again, to get in touch with them to have it resolved. Disgusted by this company.

Highly recommend any other trash service company, it has been a nightmare cancelling services since March 31, it is now May 26.

Every year Republic Services increased our trash bill by $20 without notice. I've had to reschedule a can removal three different times because somehow they couldn't find our address to remove the trash can. A local representative reached out explaining his guys messed up and claimed the removal fee would be waived because of all the mix up. There is zero communication between departments or ownership of decisions. Since then I've gotten an email notification about a past due removal fee. We called the local representative back and he said he didn't deal with billing, that we would have to contact customer service.

Do not use Republic Services for residential trash services, it is a nightmare if you are unsatisfied with anything. If you enjoy overpaying for trash services then go for it, I'd rather take my trash to the local trash center then deal with Republic Services again.

The title says it all. It's the worse company out there. No integrity. This seems to be the trends no a days with government or public companies doing the work for the city/state. It's a shame.

This is the worst trash company in the us if i could give negative stars i absolutely would, they will not refund for their wrong doings nor send someone out to get trash if they do not dump it, they will say they have dumped it when they never even showed up to the property, and will not get out of the truck to open a gate so they can dump the trash. Every representative you talk to has something completely different to say about said matter, and do not help or work with you. On top of that they have a contract for 36 months that you cannot get out of no matter what. DO NOT USE REPUBLIC SERVICES UNLESS YOU LIKE GREIF AND HEADACHE EVERYTIME THEY DUMP YOUR TRASH. On top of all this only half your total bill is to dump the trash the other $60 they come up with is random environmental and very high fuel fees.

Horrible service
October 12, 2021

We used Republic Services for our trash and recycling for 5 1/2 years. They started off great, but for the past few years they have been horrible. They missed pickups so often, I was calling almost weekly at one point for a credit. When my bill arrived there was no credit, so I called to inquire why. The rep claimed they had no record of any calls. The next time I called, a different rep confirmed that all of the calls were visible. So they actually lied so that they wouldn't have to provide a credit. The driver does not get out of the truck when picking up, so if they drop the recycling but, they leave it (and it blows all over the place) and they register with the company that they completed the service. When I called customer service about this, they just insist that the driver came and completed the service. In the end, for months, it would take a minimum of a 45 min wait to get someone on the phone to address an issue. When we cancelled service, they wanted $66 to pick up the cans. We offered to drop them off and they claimed there is no where to drop them off. So, we got horrible service, they often didn't come pick up on the scheduled weekly date, they would sometimes leave a mess, customer service was dishonest and we had to wait a minimum of 45 minutes to speak to someone and we had to pay $66 to have them pick up their own cans. It's absolutely shameful. We would not recommend them to anyone.

Horrible experience
January 31, 2022

I have never had issues with garbage company. When they miss a pick up they come right back and get it done by next day. My pick up was missed on Wednesday I called them at 3 and they said oh they have till 6:00 PM oh ok and no one pick it up and all my neighbors had theirs picked up. Of course they are not open at 6:00 so now I call on Thursday morning they said we will pick it up on Friday. No pick up again on Friday so I called them at 2:30 PM again they say they have till 6:00 PM as I am bringing it up they say put it back but will set up another pick up on Monday. Of course they are not there at 6:00 PM so I bring it back up. Then I bring it down on Sunday night but this time I call them on Monday morning to make sure it gets picked up. Person tells me right away I will get them to pick it up right away. Again nothing at 2:30 PM. I start bringing it up and call them again and say I am done. She insist have me keep it till 6 again, again no one came and got it. So now got to go back and get it. Everyone can make a mistake but don't keep telling me you going to pick it up and having me bring it down 5 time and nothing
