I booked through Carla, quoted £150 for a rental in Brindisi. When I arrived, the supplier told me I owed €295. I called Carla, but they couldn't resolve it and said a supervisor would need to call back. Stranded at the airport with my one-year-old, I had no choice but to pay the €295 directly to Europcar. The result: I lost the £98.39 I had already paid Carla. Carla provided no service. I had to pay again, at a higher rate, just to get a car. Carla have since refused to refund me and instead offered "Carla Cash" — store credit that I neither want nor asked for. This is not a refund. A complete lack of ownership, transparency, or accountability. I strongly advise avoiding Carla and booking directly with a reputable provider.
Renting a car always causes some headaches, but this company is unique. When you make the reservation, one price appears, and then when you pay at the rental counter, another price appears. They simply act in bad faith. Furthermore, there is no phone support. Their phone number is available electronically, but I was never able to reach anyone. I gave them one star because it's impossible to give them zero or negative reviews!
Prices at the counter are 120% more then in the voucher the refused to refund the deposit.

Reserved a car. Canceled after 48 hours, 10 days before pickup. They refuse to reimburse my credit card, only Carla credit which I have no plan to use.
I reserved a vehicle through Carla, only to discover at the last minute that the rental service did not have the car available. This forced us to scramble for an alternative on short notice. Reaching customer service was frustrating, with minimal success in speaking to an actual person. I initially chose this service due to the lower cost, but it ended up being a costly mistake in terms of time and stress.
The service center promised assistance, but it turned out to be a tactic to delay and avoid responsibility. I ended up losing both money and valuable vacation time. I strongly recommend renting directly from the car rental company instead of using third-party services.
If you guys want to waste your money and time then you can use carla. They are very unprofessional. I rented a car and couldn't get a car. I also paid advance deposit of 100$ for it. Carla refused to give me a refund for the service they couldn't provide. First they commit to provide 7 seater car and then totally turned from their words and told me that your booking is only for 5 seater. They failed from commitments and denied me to provide 7 seater car even after I sent them their own executive's email confirmation. Scam company. Never trust.

Their is skip the line option is just fake and they dont give back refund. Passing 20 mins i canceled as there is no confirmed reservation and then refused to refund payment.
I made a reservation for a week's rental. I got to the location to pick up the car, I was told that I couldn't reserve it because I didn't have an international driver's license. Nowhere during the reservation it had said I needed to have an out of country license and nowhere on the confirmation it had stated that guideline. They wanted me to pay more and I told them to shove it. Another client came in and they did the exact same thing to him. He lived in Germany however and used a license in the same province. They denied the reservation unless he paid more. Scamming practices.
Carla car rental app is a total SCAM. Carla took $150 upfront and referred me to a remote rental company in Dublin who then demanded $250 for car insurance. I refused and rented from PayLess. Carla then refused to refund my $150 payment citing cancellation policy. Don't use Carla app, go directly to rental companies.
I downloaded the Carla rental app and set up my car rental preferences. Before submitting anything, I decided to check the company's reputation online, as app reviews can sometimes be misleading or paid for. What I found was concerning, so I chose not to proceed with the rental. However, just minutes later, I received a notification that I had been charged for a "PRE-reservation." I NEVER authorized this charge, nor did I press ANY buttons to confirm a reservation. I reported this FRAUDULENT activity to google pay thankfully IMMEDIATELY. Because, maybe another half an hour later they charged me AGAIN god knows for what this time and google declined their attempt. This is ALL WITHOUT EVEN CLICKING RESERVE. THIS IS outright FRAUD. I have also reported them to the FTC also. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Do not rent from this company. I made the mistake of trusting them, and they are not built for trust. I made several reservations with them for the Fall of 2025. When our plans changed slightly they would not allow me to cancel. This is EIGHT months ahead of the time we needed the car. They claim there's some fine print about no refunds, which of course I never would have agreed to. Several emails and they agreed to give me these things called "Carla Dollars". Oh joy. So I tried to use them on several other rentals, and guess what? No can do. So I'm sitting on a pile of useless Carla Dollars. Useless…just like their customer service. In particular Davide and Kimberly were inept, incompetent, and inexcusably worthless at their jobs. About the only thing I can compliment them on is their finely-honed scamming skills.
Rent from them at your own risk…or if you hate yourself or your money.

At the location, they didn't have my confirmation. They didn't have my booked car. They didn't have the insurance that we paid.

We travelled 30 hours from Australia and had booked a car in Calgary Canada. When we arrived, The car rental refused to release the Car as Carl does not provide the insurance company or policy for your insurance. What they don't tell you is Carla does NOT communicate with the rental company ( in this case Routes Rentals) regarding insurance. We had to pay out of pocket and extra $500 Canadian dollars and Carla refused to reimburse us so I'm out here earning everyone. Best to go directly with Car hire company. Less complicated and straight forward that way.
Yes, this company took over $700 for me and I get to the airport first you didn't tell me the right place to go or a reservation number or anything so I get out there and they say I need a major credit card which I don't have one, but they charge me for the complete rental and that's not right they should have Refunded me my money by now. This was eight days ago and they are refusing to give it back or they're gonna get back with me, but you know I have since called my bank and we're gonna get this stopped but I would not recommend this company to anyone their thieves they're scamming people. They're no good. They need to go somewhere else and do business because they're doing that illegally. No one should take anyone's money and not return it to them, especially if they didn't ever get the car.
We just use this app to get a rental from the airport, hertz couldn't find our rental and the money was already taken from our account. When we called Carla, the lady told me no refunds. How is it no refunds when we didn't even get a car? This place is a scam and need to get shut down by the government. I believe this company is based out of another country because the company is not following the rules and regulations that America goes by when being a business owner. This company takes people money for no reason and refuse to return it. Scammers! I have no hope that the company will refund me, but I am filing a dispute with my bank, this is considered fraud and my bank will take care of it.
AVOID CARLA AT ALL COST. It's a scam company. I paid for a 7 seater but was offered a 5 seater car at the counter. I refused delivery, now carla is not refunding me any amount saying its in the contract. If your refuse a bad product / service they will charge you 100%. Total scam stay away
Could someone please start a class action lawsuit on this company because they are scamming people out their money they scam me for $480 and I didn't get a car and they won't refund my cash back
Answer: Total scam. I've reported them to the BBB, The Federal Trade Commision and The Attorney Generals Office in the state their located in, in an attempt to get my money back.Good luck. Run the other way while you can.
Answer: Never use these people, carla.com. If you gave then the reservation fee I hope you can get it back. They took my money and never sent the reservation. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commision, and The Attorney Generals Office.
