I booked a car through rentcarla.com and had no issues. My rental was for 5 days and I paid $11.23 prepayment. My rental was super cheap than original amount. Thank you for securing the booking. Good experience, suggested.
I booked a car to be picked-up from the city center from Carla. They reserved me a car in the airport. When I wanted to cancel the reservation, they charged me for the full fee. I am not booking from Carla again
I gave it at least one star because the app was easy to use. However when you type in the information what you get can be misleading. I wanted to rent a car at Cleveland Hopkins airport. They showed me a four day rental for a Toyota Corolla for $139. That sounded great and I went for it. There was a small reservation fee of around $25. When I finally got more of the information about the rental, I discovered that they were sending me to rent a wreck not even close to the airport. So not knowing what I would get, With this type of thing I canceled my reservation. So even though it was a small loss, I can imagine if you have a few thousand people do this like I did it would add up for them
They are the worst and only use email as communication which can be frustrating when trying to solve a problem. Joel was the one emailing me and he would not give me a number to call because I wanted a refund. The car rental company was willing to give me a refund on their part but Joel with Carla said I would not get a refund nor credit. So do not use this crappy app they will not give you a refund and will not communicate properly. I hope they run out of business because they are such a scam. You are better of renting straight from a rental company.
Ended up paying $213 for a rental that was not available to me. Carla reserved and gave a confirmation # but 2 hours later rental lot called and stated that my reservation could not be fulfilled due to shortage of cars. They were having to cancel at least 8 other rentals that were reserved. I provided cancelation emails from local lot along with contact numbers for manager at local rental lot. 2 months later this still was not resolved. I was offered Carla cash as a credit but never received credit. When I followed up on the credit "carla cash" they told me they could not meet my expectations and wished me a happy holiday. Terrible business! Stay away from Carla Cars. Book Direct no matter how much more it cost. As another customer stated...not worth 1 Star. Chalk it up as a lesson learned! Book Direct - No 3rd Party!
I wasn't able to pick up car due to a system issue. First, contacting them was really hard because they don't have a phone number (only email). I contacted them via email and they denied my refund. When I asked why, I wasn't given a proper reason. Just don't use them.
No customer service, no answer via email or phobe, they did not even send a reservation confirmation with details, so it was impossible to show what I have paid for via their website. Really ruined my holidays, I paid 3x as much as they advertised. Sucked so bad words cannot describe. Never again!
Due to ineffective and what feels like scammy policies (they never mentioned a $500 additional deposit before the rental) and now they are saying it will take up to 10days to refund me for a rental that was for my brothers' wedding. They are screwing me twice and the customer service people are truly underpaid and unhelpful - they string out emails attempting to be polite but really just covering for their scammy company. I honestly just want my money back and I sent the follow up email a few days later so essential it is going to take 2 full weeks to get my moeny back?
My son used a debit card to hold a vehicle. When he realized that he has an issue with his credit card and was unable to use it, he contacted the Carla customer service about the issue. They refused to issue him a refund.
I booked my reservation through the Carla App.
The App. Charged immediately an portion of the total rental amount to reserve my rental car in the amount of $29.55.
At the arrival the rental car agent ask me for my Government Employment ID. I told him I do not work for any Government. The agent explained that - to validate the discount code used by the CARLA APP. I need an Goverment ID.
At the same time the Carla App. Send me an message asking if I got my rental. I text back that the rental company can't rent me a car under the reservation code which was used to reserve the vehicle. In addition to the whole disaster, the Carla App. Charge my Credit Card additional charge in the amount of $23.94.
- No Car just unauthorized charges-
Never again I got ripp off in the amount of 29.55+23.94 = 53.49
This app is fraud. Paid everything, went to pick up the car at the Bolzano airport, no rental car company exist at the airport. Asked refund, but they said refund is not possible. Do not use this app. Money was taken. Really embarrassed
Rented with them in the DR. They refused to give us the car and wanted more money. After much debating on a car we paid in full for ($346), they still refused us a car and wanted $61 more a day and $700 to actually get the car. So we never got the rental and now they're refusing the deposit.
Do not book with these people they will take your money and you will get nothing back total fraud, do not use them for anything

I reserved and paid my rental through Carla. My rental was with Dollar car rental and I had a very good experience. I paid the deposit with my debit card and paid the rental price with affirm. I will pay my rental in 4 mothns. Good experience. I didn't contact with customer support. I get my confirmation fast.
I tried to rent a car without a credit card. I clicked on I don't have a credit card and I was still charged and not allowed a refund. The app is now not allowing me access to my funds or the reservation I made. I paid for free trip cancelation and I was not allowed to cancel.
I booked a car through these idiots. They charged me 89. Upfront with the promise of a refund in the event of cancelation. I had to cancel due to the fact that the rental company would not accept the deposit from a cloud bank. Thrifty car rental also told me you should NEVER be charged a fee to book a car. I could go to their website and book the damn car for free. So I guess I'll be contacting the BBB and the Federal Trade Commision about carla.com. It's a complete scam
The request was canceled in minutes and they refuse to give me a refund. I have been reaching since October to get this situation fixed. All I get is someone emailing that I got Carla cash that can be used any time. I never got Carla Cash. I don't want Carla Cash I want a refund. I think it's sad that my money was basically stolen and there's is no one to talk too.
If i could rate this in the negitives i would. I tried to rent a car through here and i placed the exact amount of money on my card. When i clicked book my account declined it due to scam activites and when i went into the app to accept and approve of the charge it turns out it declined because they tried to charge me 4 TIMES for the same amount. Thank HOD i dont put more then i need to in my card cause i would have lost about $1400. When i tried the customer service they pulled some crap saying when it declined they automatically tried again but thats not what my bank says. They pulled the same amount 4 times at the same time!
Answer: Total scam. I've reported them to the BBB, The Federal Trade Commision and The Attorney Generals Office in the state their located in, in an attempt to get my money back.Good luck. Run the other way while you can.
Answer: Never use these people, carla.com. If you gave then the reservation fee I hope you can get it back. They took my money and never sent the reservation. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commision, and The Attorney Generals Office.
