The reason why they refused because my visa card was "invalid" according to them. They didnt even bother to try to do an authorisation or whatever. How can it be invalid if they took the payment xD? ! They consider my reservation as a no show while I was there but refused to give the car xD

We made a car reservation for Milan. They charged our card. But no booking confirmation ever came to my email and YES for goodness sake, we checked spam! I called. The person on the phone could do nothing without a booking number which I did not have because I never had a confirmation. She asked to send me a form to fill in. She tried four different emails we own. The form never came through. I tried to escalate to a manager. She did not transfer me. She gave me an email. I sent all the details about the booking - dates, names, places, credit card last four digits. We get an email from "Leslie" assuring us she can help and asking for the information I just had already sent, plus a scanned PDF of the charge. I replied with all the information again and a scan of the charge. Very soon I get an email from "Nicole" asking for the exact same information and for me to send a scan of the charge. I reply AGAIN with the same information and a scan of the charge. Very soon I get an email from "Justin" suggesting I check my spam folders. It is very clear that Leslie, Nicole and Justin are all bots and that there is no human looking into this problem. We just contacted AMEX and disputed the charge. I will never use this outfit for booking a car.
I would put less than a star but not possible. I had two problems in one booking and thanks by customer care system I have paid exactly like I could have had the service but without having it.

Flight delayed by 30 mins. When we arrived to pick up car, they had gave away our prepaid car. Call centre refused to help. Only channel via form. After submitting claim we received automatic reply saying sorry and good luck next time. We have lost £850 and rentalcars.com is refusing to return our money. BUYERS BEWARE DONT USE THIS VENDOR!
Really bad experience with them. They just take my money and they find a way to not giving me the car.
And obviously, when you claim a refund, they tell you to contact the real rental agency (avis, hertz,...) and the real rental agency tells you to contact rentalcars. Congratulations! You're now completely $#*!ed!

Our delayed Ryanair flight resulted in us arriving at Shannon late afternoon, an hour and a half late. There should have been no worries as Easirent terms state they hold bookings for 4 hours and their office is open until 12.30am. WRONG!
On arrival I found no one was at Easirent Shannon and discovered everyone had GONE HOME FOR WEEKEND!
After contacting their Dublin Office I was informed that our booking had been treated as "no show"and staff would only collect us if we paid an additional 120 Euros. Faced with this virtual blackmail and the prospect of being stranded, I very reluctantly agreed to pay this extortionate fee.
BTW forget about complaining to their Customer Services whop totally dismissed this complaint…. I suggest you definitely dismiss the idea of d booking with these guys.
Unreliable platform! We made and prepaid a reservation weeks in advance, and we needed to extend the rental period by a few hours, so we called them. Only because we made that call we learnt that the car we had reserved and paid for is in fact unavailable! Instead of being offered an alternative without additional payment, we were given the option to rent a similar car for double the price!
If we had not made this call we would have ended up at the airport with a small child and without a car to rent!
No apology offered either. Appalling service, a disgrace of a company. Don't waste your time and money here.
Hertz collected our rental fees upfront but failed to give us a notice that cars were not available. We arrived at Atlanta airport after midnight, and the Hertz counter was full of unhappy customers. We were not alone. A text or email with some sort of advance notification would have been nice. I will go with Enterprize next time.

My flight was late by 6 hours. When I approached the table, there was no free car for me. When I called Rentalcars they told me they could cancel my booking with a 30% cancellation fee. And keep the visa deposit for the next 5 days. So I had no money for another car. I agreed. But the reservation was not canceled and they do not answer calls from me.
I cancelled my reservation by mistake and called their customer support line to have the booking again and was told that was not possible because the system does not allow to change "the cancel status" and that I lost my money. I asked for a supervisor and was told that option was not available and that they understood how I was feeling but that they could not do anything to help me get my money back. I also received an email saying they would not debit back my US54.06 because of the terms and conditions... As an adult I feel this type of business should not continue offering their service. Is there anyone that can help me with getting my money back? I feel terribly even though this was only a few dollars.

Reserved and paid for car with full insurance with a guaranteed shuttle service. Upon arrival at Liverpool airport at 11.00 pm, I phoned the company to get picked up only to be told I could either walk 20 minutes to the Rentalcars agency or pay £4.00! I paid the fee and was taken to the agency. As I had booked an early morning return flight I asked the agent what time the shuttle bus would take me to the airport only to be told that I could either take a taxi £15 (if one was available, or do the 20 minute walk!
I was then asked for my credit card to cover costs?
As I only have a debit card I was told I would have to pay an extra £35 per day of the rental! At this point I left the agency, refusing to take the car as there was no guarantee I would make my flight back in time and the company obviously can not be trusted with any hidden charges upon returning the car. I was stranded in an industrial zone but I finally made it to my father's funeral thanks to UBER. I have since written and telephoned to no avail, their lack of customer care is disgusting. Don't use the, go with Europcar, I've never had a bad experience with them.

Despite the fact that the reservation said cancellation was free up until 3 days before the booking, the link to "cancel the booking" goes back to the homepage and doesn't provide any way to cancel. There is no phone number to contact anyone, and using their email contact link simply sends the message into the ether. No reply. No confirmation of the message being sent/received. I tried several times to cancel a reservation 2 weeks prior to travelling. Never got a reply. I eventually worked with my credit card company to reverse the charge -- again PRIOR to travelling, during the time window when cancelling without a charge is supposedly premitted. Two weeks AFTER my trip, I get an email from rentalcars.com saying they have cancelled my reservation, refunded $0 and charged me a "cancellation fee" for the entire cost of the rental. What? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
The actual hire went smoothly, but two days after my booking was made I found there to be a charge for a second vehicle on my credit card statement. I immediately contacted Rentalcars and they said that the money would be reimbursed. Two subsequent calls - one of which an agent from Rentalcars hung up on me - and 14 days later still no sign of a refund. I was left with no other option but to contact my credit card company to alert them to the fact that an unauthorised payment was made to Rentalcars.
Booked a rental. Right of the get go something went wrong. Rental car forwarded charges for car and taxes at same time which caused my bank to freeze payment under suspicion of fraudulent activity. While trying to sort this out with the bank, Rentalcars.com cancelled my reservation, but I had already paid the $100 plus charge for taxes. Can't risk calling the company and getting stuck on hold at. 26 cents a minute. No response from email. Just sitting here stuck in a cesspool of exasperation. Did I mention that their "live chat" seems to be perpetually unavailable? In today's world poor communication is almost an insult to the customer.
