Most cringiest place on the internet. Just be glad its a place where all the losers and incels congregate so you know where to avoid them
Edit - i wanted to know what others think of reddit and omg it's worse than you can imagine. If this doesn't convince you to avoid reddit idk what will:
1. https://bit.ly/3Z3mKkd (quora post about reddit abuse history)
2. https://bit.ly/3losWWh (hacker news post about reddit abuse history)
1. AMA's appear to have limited functionality because the hosts do not answer legit questions.
2. Moderators appear to have no disciplinary chain of command from the site Admin. Thus, if a moderator begins making accusations against you, you have no defense against the trolling of a mod.
3. Mods apparently do not really care about US federal laws on information flow and sharing related to US national defense and security.
4. Mods apparently lack expertise in the sub/reddits that they moderate. Therefore, you can have a person with absolutely no experience managing a highly technical scientific discussion. This is totally unacceptable because a moderator who lacks such experience can not effectively judge the accuracy of postings.
5. The downvoting at Reddit is totally ridiculous. Why even have down votes? They post in multiple places in some subject areas that downvoting is not allowed. But, upon the whim of some moderators, suddenly a bunch of down votes occur from a cyber mob of moderators who apparently can decide to show up at a moment's notice.
6. Subject matter in each subject area is controlled by a priority other than the timing of discussions and the number of responses.
Many of the moderators arent fit to judge based on objectivity. For example, there is a new moderator for cringeanarchy named "CA_cleanup" and another moderator subbed to "r/cuckoldry". This is not objectivity this is abuse of control. In summary, reddit sucks and is getting worse.
The best website to find detailed humified information about literally anything, from cars and sports to rocket science. The community is also amazing.
I got banned and downvote form community when I say something different or smart than them Reddit are full of keyboard warrior who think they smart than other
This is awesome site to spend spare time and to a look at popular questions. Meanwhile, your account is limited until you upgrade your karma. This fact disappoints me a lot.
I was unfairly banned from r/place and I did nothing wrong. There is something wrong with it. Help just acted like $#*!s and didn't help me with my problem at all. BAD USERBASE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
I been on here a while but it's just the same stuff day by day full of bots and people steal peoples comments to use as there own and it's just memes and not alot else
I've been attack on this website for the most insignificant reasons by people. Comments are often clear cut cases of hate, harassment, and going against subreddit guidelines. Yet, it you report individual comments most of the time no action is taken and the comment remains. I once had someone report me as suicidal, which is anything close to true. The moderators of the subreddits are often trolls themselves and mentally unstable. I've been banned from some subreddits for merely having a difference of opinion. So much for freedom of speech. The trolls are masters in social engineering as I've been suspended for merely responding in kind to trolling comments. If you appeal to or write Reddit to explain, they ignore you.
Edit: 10/25/23 - Was just permanently banned after a handful of users this week posted trolling comments to my replies long enough to generate an email to me then deleted the comments right away to delete the evidence. I emailed them calling them out on it and referring to them as "wimps" and "P's". One of the trolls flagged my email, and Reddit banned me for harassment.
I just deleted my Reddit account. I was permanently banned from a page because I shared a You Tube video. The page was for single parents and there were a lot of people talking about being lonely. Statically, people who are lonely, especially during the holidays, they usually get depressed and the risk of suicides are MUCH higher. The video that I shared was Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. The extremely ignorant moderators immediately banned me permanently from that page for the video. When I tried to explain it, the ignorantly thought that I was encouraging suicide. The song is about how everybody hurts, everybody cries, everybody has difficult times in their lives but to not give up and to hang on. They weren't interested in the song at all or its meaning. They were just obsessed with bullying me for posting it and ignorantly accused me of encouraging people to kill themselves.
The people of Reddit have no concept of reality or the real world. They probably live with mommy and daddy and either don't want a real job (which they'd probably get fired from very quickly anyway) or they can't get a real job (no surprise there), so they moderator social media platforms and bully people about things that they don't understand and block people because they don't understand things about the real world. These Snowflakes live in their own fantasy world with rainbows and sunshine and nothing bad ever happens. In other words, their safe spaces.
Reddit.com is a site where people can discuss different topics and communties. However, despite the great idea, the execution is not great. The site won't even let you post on most communities if you have "low karma" meaning you have to get people to like you in order for you to simply post on the site. Very poor execution. Also, the moderators on Reddit are known to ban you for stupid reasons, such as for not being specific enough about a post or simply disagreeing with them. There are also porn communities and innapropriate topics discussed, which was quite apalling to me. It's basically just a mix of ABC news and Youtube except innapropriate and despicable content is allowed. Yikes. Not safe for children. Also, there is a high chance that you will get snarky and rude comments on your post regardless of how friendly you are.
Would not reccommend. Go to a news site or Youtube, sites which are safe for everyone.
This site is the perfect cure for boredom, or if you just need a 15 minute break. My only warning is that the site can be addictive and the commentators can be mean.
Reddit is THE MOST UN- USER FRIENDLY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCE! REALLY …… DO YOU REALLY NEED TO Persecute everyone under a tiny microscope? GIVE ME A F****** BRAKE! Gonewild IS THE WORST USER FRIENDLY! Stay AWAY From That Site!
I ran one ad using reddit and only authorized a charge of $20.00. After two weeks, I saw another charge for $18 and some change, I did not authorize this charge so I was confused. I went onto ads.reddit.com and tried to remove my card number from the website, the only option I saw was update, so to remove my card I was being forced to add another card, which I do not want to do because I do not wish to continue services with this company. I tried to find a number to call Reddit and was unable to do so on the website and on google. I tried to email customer support and received no guidance on how to remove my card. I called my card issuer Capital One and we three way called Reddit to get help in removing my card. Not only did Reddit customer service hang up on me once, they did it twice. Each representative gave the same phone number to call, which was the same number that we were speaking to. They yelled at me and continued to say they do not have another phone number and they will call back. All I was asking to do was remove my card. This is fraud, what company makes it impossible to remove a credit card from?
DO NOT USE THEM.
This is an online forum to ask questions. I found it hard to use. Things that should be simple are complicated. You are given a limited time to have your question open. After a time, Reddit will close your question and no more answers will be accepted. This is a very stupid policy. I asked one question about Star Wars two years ago and no one answered even though it indicated that it had views.
Mostly people posts asinine jokes that are very dated and I get tired of reading them. You may use this if you have a burning question that is popular, otherwise I recommend that you try your luck somewhere more reliable.
The most common use for this site is the IAmA for professionals or celebrities who have a unique experience and offer a chance for people to ask them anything. Example: I Am A movie star, Ask me Anything.
I need to add that this site discriminates users if your opinions do not agree with their unenlightened administrators. Find a better forum for asking questions. Yahoo Answers was much better and will get immediate responses to any question.
FINAL COMMENT: Reddit does not believe in the freedom of speech, the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. They are unAmerican because they do not believe in these ideals. Reddit administrators harass their users when they censor them. I have firsthand experience in this. They are the perfect candidate for a for a class-action lawsuit.
I own two Hikvision recorders I recently stopped getting notifications on one of my reporters through the ivms-4500 software I thought it was a phone issue. I was soon to find out that Vision has stopped supporting the ivms 4500 software that's fine I was going to go with hike connect instead found it one of the services that my recorders use is no longer supported as well. It was at a property several hours away. I then changed the recorder for an H I E D & S service to IP domain I still receive no function off the alarm or output the push through to my app on my phone phone technical support Hikvision usa.com that was a fruitless venture. After 5 attempts with different people each time no resolution was found. This is called buyer beware when you buy a product that has support and the support for the product disappears you have been screwed. Their best answer was you need to go buy a new video recorder and it's all that and they'll support that with their new line of products and online things. I would assume that when was this going to disappear and I would have to buy another one quote" they said they weren't sure.
Because basically I'm a horse owner I start posting and commenting in subreddit called r/horses I was attacked so much I had to delete my account, these trolls would follow you from one post you commented on to your post to attack you, I tried confronting the trolls but they attacked me more for reporting them, you can't delete hateful comments on your post you can only block the person yet there comment is still there, this app is filled with sociopaths that need to be reported to the authorities and this app needs to be banned more than TikTok, this only happened within 48 hours worst social media I have ever downloaded in my entire life, I have not been attacked like this on my other social media (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
It takes 30 minutes to find a specific post even if you search up exactly what the text said. It always bugs you to download the app too even if you already have it.
The default sub reddits are not a good indication of the breadth of content available on the site. For best results sign up an account and then curate your subreddits.
They killed reddit is fun and that killed my entire experience for reddit. I dislike the new site. I can't stand the reddit app. I'm done with reddit.
Answer: Absolutely cancer. Unless you're an NPC without a brain of your own.
Answer: Use sitejabber, much better. Since they don't make you jump through hoops to post a review and they don't censor negative reviews. TONS of bad sites online. TONS of corrupt sites. Clean up the internet. Break up these monopolistic companies.
Answer: Don't trust reviews from reddit because the site is censored to get rid of negative reviews. Censored by corrupt moderators and admins.
