I firmly alert against drawing in with Royal Bank of Canada, as my experience proposes they work as a trick organization. Be careful about any contribution, as it might bring about monetary misfortune and negative outcomes.

I've gotten my cash back and that was just way I could go about it. I found support from. (I Involved THEIR Site URL AS MY Showcase NAME AND PROFILE PICTURE ON THIS Audit INCASE YOU Want Assistance AND Believe Should Connect with THEM).

Note: I did this on account of the severe arrangement here and truly I simply need to help whatever number individuals as would be prudent to get their cash back.

THE WORST BANK
August 30, 2024

The worst bank ever.
Poor customer service. Takes ages to connect and very impolite and not cooperative.
Lost $1,600 to a fraudster and the bank was not willing to find out the reason, neither they provided any reply to my complaint.
Wish I could give 0 stars.
People, don't ever open an account with RBC. You will regret.

Stay away from RBC. They will not provide any help when you need it and close the door behind you with a great fake smile.
All employee's of RBC have the big fake grins, many of them need to brush their ugly teeth before doing so.

27 years ago bought a policy to protect my young family to make sure food was on the table. Now as a senior Canadian citizen after paying RBC 27 years of INS premiums i was involved in a rear end Collison while stopped at a light.I was a ski coach, cyclist, golfer, gardner.farmer and worked 12 hours daily before my injurie reduced my hours to less half of that and took a pay cut.
I was late in my submission for benefits that PROVIDENT/UNUM/ NOW RBC. My claim was denied after waiting 3 months for a response. My criteria was met i am in physio, under doctors care,on meds to sleep, i exercise daily not to seize up. Interesting to find out that these same companies had a class action law suit in the USA 2004. The same time RBC bought these two companies. RBC seemed to side step a multi million judgement against Provident and Unum.I wonder how they managed that? Its seems history is repeating its self in Canada.Being on this earth for 63 years i ve learn to leave things in the past. But being in the present i believe other young unsuspecting families should be made aware of my 27 year+ $50,000cdn lesson taught by RBC I will be happy to place google ad words/use my LinkedIn and Facebook or CBC MARKET PLACE to have these young Canadian know about the lesson from RBC.

Boy I sure hope this was worth it. I have a new Royal Bank Avion business visa and I wanted to get access to online reports in order to track expenses and payments. Well... I was on the phone for 1 1/2 hours and was transferred 7 times before I talked to someone who knew what they were doing and was able to get me set up. Yes, you heard that correctly.

Total incompetence.
July 13, 2023

I went to the Kanata RBC bank and asked for a Master Card that I wanted to use for auto-payment with various businesses. Being a current customer, I just signed a request form and received the card by mail shortly after. Few months later, I contacted the bank to have a $2000 increase, from the original max $2000 credit to avoid exceeding the max credit limit. This is where the problem arouse. They asked me all sort of questions about my house, that I fully own, taxes I paid, proof of my retirement income, and on. I just can't believe this; I was treated like someone who never had a credit card in life! Finally, they refused the credit claiming I had very bad credit record due to very high debts! I never had bad credit, I own my house and cottage and our two cars, all other credit cards are paid in full every month; Ii never had credit dispute... Nothing! It turned out that, when I closed a Master Card with Bank of Montreal few months before, there was an error from BMO for an amount of $4 dollars and cents, that they reported to the credit bureau, thinking I hadn't settle a payment when I closed the account. I contacted BMO and they apologized and corrected the error. So RBC claimed I had high debt problem for an amount of less than $5.00! This is totally ridiculous! So I contacted the ombudsman to report such an incredible treatment. After filling a form explaining all this, the ombudsman replied that they have no authority on the process banks use to evaluate individual's credit records. I consider RBC has treated me in a very poor manner. They have insulted me with false accusations. They showed absolutely no respect for me. They don't have enough judgement to evaluate people's credit history. I feel the ombudsman have failed in their mission to resolve an issue like this. We own over a million dollars in property and goods, we never had bad credit reports, this situation showed how RBC is irrespecutful with people and their attitude goes by as if everything is normal. My advise; don't go to RBC for credit, they don't have the knowledge to do money business.

Scammers
February 6, 2023

Complaint I sent to the bank: Hello, you did a hard check on my credit card. I was not applying for a credit card. Only overdraft protection for my account which you advertised as easy and simple. Had there been a warning about a hard credit check from the very beginning I would have declined. Contact trans union and have this removed from my score. I sent another message and was told my request was too invasive and my case was closed. Excuse me? Please do your job. You basically are saying oh it's too complicated so too bad for you. Not acceptable

I have spent 5 hours in the last week attempting to explore exchange rates charged on my credit card. Worst experience of my life. It involves my westjet elite card. On one transaction I wa charged the eqivalent of 5% exchange whereas they claim to only charge 2.5%. I spent 1 hour 56 minutes waiting for them to pick answer my latest call, was transfered to two different departments and finally was transfered to disputes where I was greeted with the message "sorry our current wait times exceed 1 hour and we will need you to call back". They then disconnected the call. Has anyone heard of automated call back messaging.

I even went to the lkcL bank branch h to be told I needed to call Master card directly
It wouldn't normally be an issue but the total transaction was for $10,000 plus so the overcharge was significant

Support small business?
November 1, 2022

Jorge Gonzalez a "Small Business Account Manager" has finally made me after 23 years as a client with RBC decide I deserve better than what this bank and this man provides. His service is disgusting. His knowledge is subpar. He takes days to answer communications despite the urgency.
He has only been my small business account manager for less than a year but has been so late on responses, taken 6 MONTHS to approve a loan only to tell me several days later he was mistaken and I wasn't approved. He is rude, belligerent, ignorant and should not be dealing with the public let alone be supporting small businesses. I am now taking all of my 4 businesses, personal accounts, house insurance, home insurance, all credit cards and loans to Scotia Bank. The abhorrent behavior I've experienced at the hands of this man is almost unimaginable. Good luck in the future Jorge.

I don't like to complain online but the story I'm about to share should just serve as a warning to all Royal Bank customers traveling abroad.

In February, I used my card to withdraw 800$ in Malaysia. The ATM had a withdrawal limit of 500$ and my transaction was refused. No cash was dispensed. When I checked my online banking, I noticed that the 800$ had been deducted. I was told that this is normal and at the end of the day, when they count the ATM, the system will detect that it's over by 800$ and it will automatically credit the money back to my account. Except this didn't happen. The money was never returned to my account. RBC followed procedure by opening a 90 day investigation. The conclusion was that the cash was correctly dispensed because the ATM machine in question was counted at the end of the day and everything was balanced.

They never checked the CCTV footage of my transaction and they never checked the recorded footage of the people who fill the ATM's. This procedure is usually done by two people and a video camera on a tripod to record them (in Malaysia). Usually, one guy changes the money while the other sits on his phone doing nothing. I can't accuse anyone of stealing the money without evidence, but there was never any efforts made to collect that evidence. I don't know if these people stole my money or if it got lost somewhere in the system. The only fact that I do know is that the ATM is unable to dispense the amount they claim it dispensed (800$). I've gone through many angry letters with many people at RBC and even opened a case with the Ombudsman which didn't lead to anything. Any attempts to get help from the Malaysian bank get refused and I'm told that the only option is to open a case with my bank (which I've done).

At this point, I've given up on recovering the money because it's starting to affect negatively. I haven't experienced this level of anger in many years. So if you're an RBC customer and you're traveling abroad, make sure to be very careful when withdrawing large amounts of money. I'm so paranoid that I film my transactions with my phone now. (not sure if there's even a point).

Just beware and keep your money safe!
