HORRIBLE AND A RIPOFF. I referred 9 people and 3 signed up plus made qualifying purchases. No referral has been sent. They send links to click that are broken. When asked for a representative it says " due to covid they don't want to risk employees therefore they can't have a rep call you nor leave voice messages" Huh!? I'm so annoyed that I warned everyone else that I referred to NOT use them nor my referral for this reason. BEWARE! Also you have to keep track of your own account to file your missing funds.

I've had multiple missed CashBack transactions that I've noticed lately. The "expect by" date is well into the past but no action is taken. They all read as pending. When I submit the requests to customer support, I get emails requesting that I copy and paste more emails from the retailer as proof of purchase/receipts. Sometimes, the purchases are months old because I have a job already. I did not intend to work for Rakuten and to keep a calendar of transactions or receipts. There were so many this last time (4th quarter 2022) that I only bothered to report/reclaim transactions that offered $5 or more. It was still a lot of work. I was only notified that one missing transaction, worth about $90, was approved at the beginning of February. I had assumed it was another denial because I submitted the request in December and heard nothing for over a month. It's a LOT to keep up with. I've pretty much given up double checking and making sure the balance is correct. I almost feel like that's the point.

They have really gone down hill. Not happy with $ removed weeks after it was earned. Various excuses used.

Tip for consumers:
They do not notify you that they removed money or the reason it was removed but they do notify you by email when it was supposedly put in your account.

I have the extension as well as often buying through Rakuten/Kobo. While I get some rewards others say"Up to" often meaning no rewards for your purchase, in particular Staples Copy & Print. Spent hundreds and never gotten a dime from them.

Really the rewards are not worth the hassle. Will be cancelling after the next cheque

I used to think they were good. It is only good as long as it work. So I quit looking at my account. I shop a lot on ebay. Activate my shopping trip every time I bid and pay by the button they have. Then went to view my account and see barely any cash back in the past 2 months. I had shopped A LOT on ebay. Contact and in the beginning they were helpful. Started sending my purhcases in, got some of the cashback.

I then tried to figure out why my button is not working. Now I am only getting canned responses. No matter how I explain that I activate before bidding and paying, they just won't listen. I sent screen shots on before activating and after. Then I get an email saying they gave me some of the cash back but won't in the future for missing cash! With no solution for me! I AM using their button! No interest in fixing it I guess. Really not happy with them, they need to look into the technical issue.

When I first signed up, I noticed I would regularly get ebates. Then after a few months, they stopped or were very infrequent. I would have to email with my order info and jump through hoops to get my ebate. Their automatic response would be, that item was not valid for an ebate. So my shopping pattern is pretty much the same, and yet now the items that I'm buying don't earn ebates as often.

It works great for some sites, but if you are the unlucky few that shop at the more expensive sites, ebates will not record your cash-back. If you bring this up with customer service, they will say that they are communicating with the company for you but it could take 45 days. Of course, they tell you that in hopes you will forget about the cash back or even give you back a lower percentage of cash back. For example, Ebates has these "special offers" where they will offer you a higher percentage of cash back for a limited time on a specific store. Of course, by the time they received "confirmation of your purchase" from the store after 45 days, the percentage of cash back has changed and they pocket the difference. I'm owed about $40 in cash back from this one purchase and I will not let it go.

At least, once a year Rakuten takes it upon itself to monitor our account and cancel its use if they don't understand a charge. This has happened 6 times. There have never been any illegal charges on the card, jus the whim of the monitor. As a result, we have lost sale items because they were sold out before we could reinstate the card. Usually it is for a large purchase item ($2,000. Shed, $1500 matress) which I guess they don't want to pay. We have repeatedly asked that they never cancel our card, we will just pay any charge that is not legit. They always promise they will put it in our file, but it still happened.

If u spend big bucks at high end stores u don't earn good money. Otherwise not much back. Didn't care for their customer service.

I am having HUGE problems with this site. They are not accurately tracking the amounts spent and therefore the "payback" is close to nothing. For some reason, several transactions have not even been recorded. To add to that, when I have contacted ebates regarding the issues, NO BODY has called or emailed me back. I have sent yet another email regarding the problems I have been experiencing and still, NOTHING! Go with a more reliable company/website.

I placed an order exactly same as my friend's order on same day. I received a lot less cash back then my friend. Also i created an account from invitation so I received $10 but they removed it from my accounts for some reason.
Every time i send a reply to customer service, different people reply which super annoying and i need to repeat myself.

I can tell a fake review from a real one. Most Real reviews you can tell because most people make mistakes and spelling and spacing in their reviews. None of these reviews have any mistakes they are perfectly edited reviews which makes me leery. I won't do anything with a company that does edited reviews and they're so perfect you can tell by looking at them. They have somebody spending a lot of time editing s*** that they didn't want people to see because they didn't want the real thing to come out about their company so this is why they edit all these reviews or put them in just just to say that they're 'five star'. They do this all on purpose to F with your head and make you think that irs such a great company to work for when in reallity, its nothing but a scam and a waste of time. I would never do anything with Ebates just because of reading these fake effing reviews! You have ti be smart!

Ebates picks and chooses which rebates they want to honor. I push the E button before a transaction and sometimes the transaction still is not honored. I write to them identifying the order number, date and transaction and before I can blink they write me an email saying that they cannot find the transaction. I send them back a print screen of the transaction to prove it is on the up and up and they do not say that they are in error, they say: "We didnt find a shopping trip for this order, but as a courtesy we have added your Cash Back for this order." I do not lie. Either they are told not to honor transactions right off or they can't be bothered to do their job. Hey, if they don't want to work - find another job! I find it very frustrating and believe it or not I am an easy going person. The reviewer of this transaction was Tim R. I sincerely thanked him for honoring the transaction and the next thing I get is a thank you for writing a good review. Well, this is my review. I felt that I was being pushed to lie regarding the entire incident. If anyone from upper management would like to contact me - please do so. I have saved the emails I have received. I had used ebates for a few years and did get back a bit more than $200 over the years. However, now, they have been holding the same $4.20 or so for over a year because, one, they changed their rules and you must buy enough eligible stuff to bring your total up to a certain amount before they will issue you that check! And two, so many merchants I used to buy from through Ebates left the program so it's not worth my time anymore. It takes forever to try and find a business I DO shop that is also on the Ebates list!

I have spread the word to all my friends on Facebook and now am posting my review in various places.

Like I said in my title... eBates used to be great, but not anymore. Waste of time unless you shop constantly! But who can afford to do that nowadays!

I know I should not complain about getting money back from shopping, but you should know that the amount of time needed to ensure payment is not worth it. I have had to inquire about every purchase I've made through eBates and then I am asked to provide the order number and amount of purchase, so I search all of emails or log into the websites to find it. If I purchased something as a guest on the site then you can't find that information. So it's just a hassle and not worth the few cents you get back.

I signed up because a family member told me about it. We've made 3 purchases (2 on amazon and 1 on best buy) but nothing we bought seems to qualify. Why make the extra clicks to go through this if you are still at 0. I'm sure there is a benefit to them to track stuff but there doesn't seem to be any benefit to me.

This site was OK for a few months, I earned a little on some purchases I made. Then this month I've used it to purchase several items, and have received no credit. The trips are shown, but still no credit. I contacted them and was told I needed to submit a lot of paperwork (dates, receipts, etc) in order for them to investigate. It's just not worth it for the little I might be credited. I'm through wasting my time going through them before I purchase items.

I tried Ebates and tried to think it was going to help. However, after a few purchases which didn't 'go through' I just gave up on the cash back thing. A few % back isn't worth it if you have to haggle and fight your way to get a measly 1%, of which I did not.

Do not like how you now can't leave Rakuten without loosing everything you input. Ebates used to open a new page that stayed open if you wanted to go to another page to check something out before ordering.

Recently made a $2000. 00 purchase from sears and went thru ebates for 6% cash back. When it didn't show up in pending i wrote c/s and gave them order # and all info. Needed they say with large sums it could take up to 45 days for sears to get back to them. They have the proof. NOT HAPPY
