Quora Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of Quora appears to be declining, with numerous customers expressing dissatisfaction about the platform's moderation policies and perceived bias in content removal. Many users reported experiences of censorship, particularly regarding political views, leading to frustrations over a lack of open dialogue. Despite these concerns, some users still appreciate Quora for its diverse range of topics and the opportunity to engage with a global audience. However, the prevalence of scams and low-quality content has raised significant concerns about the platform's integrity and reliability, suggesting a need for improved moderation and user support.

Quora is the answer
August 28, 2016

How dare anybody give Quora less than a straight 5 stars? I can't comprehend how I had survived all along without it. A wide variety of detailed and informed answers giving different angles and perspectives to the exact query by the user. Priceless

This website is a free Question and Answer site. Its strength is that people are encouraged to post their backgrounds so you can vet the quality of answers and disregard the ones from people who don't bother to do this. On the other hand, the site doesn't verify the background statements or the posted names of contributors so anyone who really wanted to give dangerous bad advice could just use a VPN to hide their IP, post a false name and say whatever they want. From the standpoint of a contributor I felt very unappreciated. Contributors don't get any money so there is no incentive to continue doing it. For this reason you see people mainly doing it socially, either because they are in retirement or disabled. The site really stinks when it comes to controversial religious and political topics. If you aren't politically correct and post a referenced article you will probably gain a following of stalker enemies who read every post and will constantly complain to moderators about you until you get banned from the site. For example, try discussing average IQ differences between races. Legitimate complaints would be ok but moderators are so asinine that they don't even follow their own rules. They will interpret posts discussing a topic as being harassment and attacks on a group just because it is controversial. So you are not allowed to express an opinion that ever is derogatory even when it is earned. It would be analogous to being banned for saying that that Nazi's were mass murderers because this would be hateful towards them. They go out of their way to protect US blacks who are the most vocal. They have also defending medical quackery by supporting unethical chiropractors.

A Disappointment
August 10, 2016

I happened on Quora one day and liked the varied answers. It seemed interesting. But once the political campaigns started, I noticed a bias in the answers. At first, I thought it was just the trolls at work with their commenting. I made some astute observations and answered one rant point-by-point, totally proving my points, and soon after got a message from Quora that there seemed to be a "technical issue" and I would not be able to post nor respond until further notice. If I could figure out how to block them, I would. For now, I dispatch them to junk mail.

If you want a site to be unsafe and potentially get kidnapped and ask questions, Quora is for you! They take your safety and step on it. Any site asking for your full name and making it public, they are most likely trying to kidnap you, remember be safe on the internet because Quora may seem safe but if your username is valid but they think your name is fake, they tell you to put in your real name.

Quora threatening my question asking priveleges so i can add my full name.

Quora is a great example of what a totalitarian website would look like. Censorship, blocking, down voting, and just plain banning are all part of their business plan. Quora may never become a beacon for intellectual thought, but it would have been nice if it hadn't digressed into a site for narrow, like minded bigots.

Bullys rule Quora
July 18, 2016

I went there. Thought it might be a good sight to get ideas. I posted a few times. On a question about being polite to police, I posted and had a gang of males jump all over me. I defended myself and one ole guy named Ross just kept on posting on my responses. So I called him a silly little man. I got an email from Quora with no name of course about what could happen if I continued with responses of that kind. Not a word about the harassment I was getting before I said it. I just noticed that some of the women can't post with out using vulgarity. So I think it must be a site for people who have been there a long time and new people are being discourage. A lot of them seem too stupid or too drunk to even answer a question. Anyway, I wanted to reply to the email and could not. They hide their customer service. They literally can kill my arse. It's a dumb site.

Six month earlier we bought A/C for my home. This AC is very unique and stylish, the quality of the material used is really good and looks awesome. The noise of AC compared to other is very negligible, the fan works very smoothly and provide cool air. You can get a very nice sleep in this AC. I have this AC installed 6months before and I had used it in entire summer season, so far no any problem and satisfied with the performance. I think This is a best option to be expected for the paid amount to buy it.

Quora is run by psychopath moderators. I left it because i found out they torture its members mentally by asking you to explain a crystal clear question and go on asking you to do so inspite of the fact that your answer has started getting answers.

My experience with Quora has been terrible. Never before have I seen such a badly designed site get so much popularity. From what I have gathered, literally anyone with an account can mark your question as "needing improvement". When your question is marked as needing improvement (which 9 times out of 10 it will be then you have to change it to the point of where it isn't even the same question anymore. And when I made a troll question (just to test the broken system) that asked "if lizard people were waging war against carrots" it was never taken down! You can probably find it if you look for a few minutes! There are other sites like Quora that do a much better job than it. Use them instead.

I've been trying to use this website and am most disappointed! (Hence the reason I'm here searching reviews!) The old stuff always sits at the top the latest sinks to the bottom and at times out of sight, especially if it's not the right scientific answer according to Mainstream, regardless of evidence. This is a very biased, closed minded, inaccurate and misleading website.

Assinine quora
June 3, 2016

I have been banned from quora for a week. My offense? I asked if Donald Trump is crooked. This question was banned yet someone else was able to ask if he's a terrorist. Questions knocking Hilary Clinton are okay but criticism against trump, not allowed.

Annoyed
May 18, 2016

I am annoyed with them I was under the impression that if I had an opinion about something and I answered a question that it would be ok to answer questions I had and opinion on I don't believe its far that they take down answers and say they need more info personal experience should be a good enough reason to let an answer stay visible to the asker. They make you feel stupid just for posting a question or an answer if its not a million characters long or has links or photos that's dumb to me.

I submitted a simple two-sentence answer to a question. On submit it popped up a comment that my answer was inadequate and needed a number of fixes. I've been writing online since 2001, and a robot is telling me my work isn't up to snuff? Not going back.

If I could give Quora a zero I would! A lot of this information I was reading was horrible, in accurate and far from the truth! People reading this stuff may buy into, and/or get offended. Open your eyes, society has changed, stop living in history.

Quora is a failed attempt by Atheists and Christians to provoke people against Islam. Majority users are atheists who are old and unfortunately given a computer connection. These wasted lives do nothing but blab all day long. I am using the word "waste" as you would think with age comes wisdom but here it is miserable brainless morons who finally have a portal to yap nonsense all day.

I used this ridiculous site for 2 days with a Muslim and Christian name. Despite reporting several highly disrespectful questions about Islam, Quora never removed them. However when I asked a general question to explain Muslims reality in everyday life, my question was not only removed thrice but marked as inappropriate/needs consideration!

Question was "How many attacks or any horrible incidents you or people you know had in life were by Muslims compared to Christians, Jews, atheists etc?" Media associated Islam & Muslims with terrorism, then how come we don't see Muslims doing that in real life? They are in our neighbors, offices, gatherings, everywhere. How many times have you or people you know have faced terrorism by Muslims as compared to Christians, Jews, Hindus, atheists etc?"

Is this question in any way inappropriate unless it will fail the objective of spreading hatred against Islam.

Islam teaches respect against other religions and nobody likes to be disrespected or insulted regarding themselves, family or religion. Quora only aim is spread incorrect statements against Islam and yet Islam is the biggest religion in the world and still growing!

Quora should be banned and boycotted

Here is example answer consisting of three paragraphs "Having conducted extensive scientific research in the area (i.e. having watched the first two seasons of Grey's Anatomy on Netflix this month...) "and other oversized baloney. Such ridiculous answer is not only promoted to the top, it is deemed useful according o Quora regulations, while short and honest straight to the point answers are discriminated upon. They also annoy you by giving your instructions on how to edit your questions or answers, and god forbid if you didn't write a book on personal experience prior to answering, since you do need sources. Practical answers are not an ESSAY, questions are not an ESSAY, yet quora classified both as such so you are expected to produce minimum of 1500 words, you can as well cite all the tv series you seen or any other random bull$#*!.
