Here is example answer consisting of three paragraphs "Having conducted extensive scientific research in the area (i.e. having watched the first two seasons of Grey's Anatomy on Netflix this month...) "and other oversized baloney. Such ridiculous answer is not only promoted to the top, it is deemed useful according o Quora regulations, while short and honest straight to the point answers are discriminated upon. They also annoy you by giving your instructions on how to edit your questions or answers, and god forbid if you didn't write a book on personal experience prior to answering, since you do need sources. Practical answers are not an ESSAY, questions are not an ESSAY, yet quora classified both as such so you are expected to produce minimum of 1500 words, you can as well cite all the tv series you seen or any other random bull$#*!.
I got blocked by quora staff because I posted factual statements showing their liberal biases. They make threats to conservatives, false stories, lies and hateful comments towards everyone on the right. But as soon as someone confronts them about it. Reported and banned.
This site is just like the brown shirt party. Only there opinions are allowed and how dare you disagree or fire back with the exact same insults they throw out.
Worst site ever seen if you consider accessibility. On opening a link it shows popup which do not have close button. Dont know why it is at the top in google search result. Lots of advertisement makes irritate to user.
Very one sided opinions that heavily lean towards new atheism and the political left. The website also has unnecessarily restrictive rules. Sometimes contains good impartial answers, but these must be fished out of a sea of extreme bias.
Quora is what you get when you give equal amount of publishing power to everyone with a keyboard without prior editorial and peer review all under the guise of creating a library of knowledge. I've seen answers so poor that won't go past even a high school magazine being praised as if we're seeing the next Shakespeare it's absolutely nauseating.
Ideas and personalities don't get properly filtered out so you're basically getting both real smart people and actual $#*!s in one platform with same number of tools to have their ideas published. Not to mention some people have mental issues and on serious power trip, it's shocking to see the extent of hostility and passive aggressive behaviors some had shown to discredit your answers when you offend their sensibilities.
Just don't bother.
I have seen vile things on there, animal abuse, porn, blatantly dangerous ideologies, sexism, and awful bullying about grammar and spelling all of which is deemed completely acceptable, yet when I pointed out to someone (who asked with a photo) that she has candida in her mouth, and advised someone that he was an arsehole for punching his cat, my posts get removed! Unbelievable.
Was somewhat sketchy before (one had to independently verify the credentials of contributors; some posts looked authoritative but were actually opinion pieces), but since monetization has become garbage.
There is no actual, free debate on Quora. The so-called "moderators" censor almost anything which does not support a "politically correct," leftist point of view. Appeals are futile. And, it has become much worse over the past several weeks
I have been on quora for a little while now and I have had no bad issues or experiences with this site. I have met a lot of other great members and I have definitely found some great answers to some questions that I have been wanting to know for a long time. There are a few things that seem kind of different on this site but overall I am very satisfied with it.
The site is nothing but propaganda, lies, and misinformation spread by the left. If you say anything against them 100 bot accounts attack you. It's funny how liberals are always the people without lives that spend way too much time on the internet. Think Quora, Reddit, 4chan. All the same
Quora used to be a much better question-and-answer platform.
In the past, it was much easier to find the answers to anything you were looking for, but now I think with the increased traffic on their platform and the abundance of answers, it is becoming harder to find the right and correct answers.
I guess that the problem with becoming the most popular platform, you need to find a way to handle the abundance of information and fight the false information, but so far no one has found the right way to do so.
You have to dig deep to find anything worth seeing or reading on Quora. That's because there's so much advertising in the feed, advertising embedded in questions, people asking stupid and redundant questions just to keep their space active, etc. You can forget about making new friends or sharing anything important.
It seems for every question (whether light or serious) there will always be a good amount of carefully elaborated answers. It's amazing the quality of professional advice you can find here ---from math to tech entrepreneurship. And it's almost instantly.
Where do I start with what I hate about this site? There's almost nothing on this website that's factual or helps people learn anything. It's also hands down one of the most toxic websites I've seen. I've literally seen questions advocating violence against certain racial groups and nationalities. Did the questions get taken down after I reported them? Nope. They're still up. Garbage moderation that's almost non existent. The users are arrogant, pretentious snobs in love with the smell of their own farts. The website is practically a haven for pro China and anti American propaganda. Which brings me to my last point. Quora is without a doubt the most anti American website I've been on. The average Quora user thinks the US is some satanic nation where dead bodies pile up in the streets and people are all bloodthirsty demons. I'd give this $#*! hole of a website a -1 star rating if I could. For the sake of your mental health, avoid at all costs.
There are people masquerading as Republicans talking about killing liberals in order to stir controversy. This was the final straw for me. Someone threatening violence while pretending to be their opposition is pathetic and dangerous. I can't participate in such a hate filled vitriolic forum. It has no place and needs to be shut down.
Quora's a great site for those who lurk around, soaking knowledge from different topics from users all across the world.
However, its strict moderation, rigid rules and guidelines, and awful interface that causes lag is a turn off. And, there's a 1-in-a-million chance you'll get your answer answered, since it has to be well written, and follow the guidelines, otherwise, it'll be hidden from the rest of Quora until "proper" editing is made.
I like reading what writers write to difficult questions, and they're not as rude and immature as Y! As users, but there's something missing to Quora. It doesn't feel like you're actually connected to anyone (neither did Y! A have a connection, but...) Instead, everyone on Quora is like a robot, answering questions in lengthy detail.
Lastly, make sure you use your real name, or at least a full name that makes sense. I got temporarily banned because I used a nickname.
The moderators ruin it. No chance to declare your case. The real trolls go untouched. Moderators rude. They are anal about formulating questions their way. Vengeful. Q/A is interesting but seriously no humor is allowed making an academic pursuit boring and intimidating. Stupid policy of using real name. Great idea poorly executed.
Quora is a niche site that features site generated questions the mindless drones use to convey what they think never citing any authority for their answer. You will see people guessing at answers, wishful thinking instead of fact, and second hand stories going as best answer. This site has been caught stealing users info. If this site isn't at your level feel free to send your emails over to the spam folder.
Quora is basically a meme. A lot of questions get answered by trolls. They are bad trolls too. Don't take advice or any answer from anyone on this website. Nothing is credible that is posted on the site. I am not even sure why people actually still go to it.
Listen, you can't write almost anything unless it fits into their perfect little bubble of factually incorrect. Most answers are just downright wrong. Correcting others kindly gets you banned. No one answers the questions fully. There are definitely a few good writers, and I use it soley for their content. Otherwise? Trash.
Answer: Yes, the questions about penis size and virginity seems to sponsor endless discussion!
Answer: Because Google put Quora answers at the top of their search results when people search for a question they see the answer from Quora. Which is stupid because most answers on Quora aren't even correct lol. Idk why Google wants to promote that site, if they own it or they want to buy it and incorporate it into Google at some point. I think the site is awful and it should be shut down because it's just a propaganda site. You do not see Quora from any other search engine for example duckduckgo. But you see it in Google.
Answer: No, it is obviously leftist but it does on occasion allow questions or replies for short periods of time that are obviously uncomfortable to the "politicaly correct" crowd in a useless attempt to appear unbiased.
Answer: I honestly feel and highly suspect from certain traits that Quora pays Google to be high on the rank and they get *buddy buddy* with the government. Quora is essentially too big to fail. We no longer have capitalism but now live under governmentism which Trump pledges to end but can he? Does he really mean what he says? That is the million $ question.
Quora has a rating of 1.6 stars from 611 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Quora most frequently mention social media, hate speech and left wing. Quora ranks 79th among Question And Answer sites.
