Do not ever use this company, they rescheduled 3 times with me and never ended up keeping an appointment. Couldn't even call me to work out a new date/time. Horrible service.
Horrendous experience, tch reeked of Marijuana, did not have correct tools. Now need to purchase new washer. PULS takes zero responsibility! Screw added by tech, now washer cannot be fixed $1300
I began making appointments on July 21. I changed that appt 5 times when they said "we're - we have to cancel your appointment." Five times! Horrible customer service.
Honest Review,
Do not use this company. Had my ice maker broken, tech came out to "repair" my ice maker. All he did was defrost ice with his little steamer for 3 hours and then realized he cracked a piece inside my ice maker. So he mentioned we had to reschedule and he would order the parts.
They charge me 400$ for ice removal labor... drinking two bottles of my water and using a steam machine, is $400 worth of labor and repair?
Fast forward to next week the tech shows up with flip flops on, and cat hair all over. He ordered the wrong part, it didnt fit. So he says, well i got the wrong part you will just have to epoxy this by yourself... I said so when is the repair? He tried to lecture me about was a repair means but he did not fix anything and unproffesionally left by saying I trust you will do the right thing.
I called to ask for a refund for the 200$ repair fee and a company full of indians with awful customer service could not make it happen they wanted to send the same tech out.
They also tried adding hidden Service fees.
I placed an order to get my refrigerator repaired on October 23. I called two weeks later to say my refrigerator was not working. They agreed to send a repair person out. I have been waiting on Angel to return for 2 weeks now. DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF. USE ANOTHER COMPANY
Edit 5/14: I've updated my review from 1 star to 3 stars. This is because Puls did agree that the $250+ charge for a no-parts button press on a dishwasher, and a hard sell to buy a subscription was unfair, and they refunded us so that the total charge was the initial quoted price of $89. I appreciate their efforts in investigating this with me, and getting to a resolution.
==============
Don't even think about calling these guys. They engage in deceptive and extortionate "sales practice". Their current Director of Customer Success is open about the fact on his LinkedIn that one of his biggest accomplishments is that he, ".increased the company net contribution by launching a Direct to Consumer membership sales program." I would hardly call that an accomplishment when the revenue for that membership program was obtained by deception, and extortion.
We were quoted $89 for a call-out to look at the dishwasher. My husband then went out to get some food. In the minutes he was out, the Puls rep pressed a button on the dishwasher and said he had done a hard reset. He then told me I had to pay $250. If he had told us upfront that, "Oh it's not $89, it's actually $250" I would have told him, "no thank you."
He then said we should just pay for a subscription to Puls (where you can have them visit you for various repairs for a year). My husband had already told him no. I told him no again. He said well we still had to pay the $250 anyway. This was an obvious dodgy sales practice to try to turn a $89 service into an annual membership fee - a real bait and switch. He was a 6'0+ guy who would not leave my house, I am a 5'0 woman and when I pressed him on why we had to pay, he kept repeating the same talk track, "You're just better off paying the $250. It's just better for you. You get all this for a year." He did not even seem to listen to me.
It appears from other reviews that this is Puls' business model - to push people to sign up for their $250+ annual service, which we did not ask for and repeatedly said no to. It astounds me that companies like this are still in business - should have been hauled in to a court for deceptive business practices and extortion.
Avoid.
PULS is a broker type company aligning 'technicians' with customers in need of assistance with their broken appliance.
With that, you have a complete spectrum of 'technicians' that PULS 'dispatches' to your location. NONE of them carry ANY parts so do not think your appliance will be fixed when they leave. The $89 you spend on the service call is for that visit. Meaning,if you do not approve the quote immediately when provided by the tech at your house, the next service tech that comes to install the part that get ordered, and delivered to your house, charges you another $89. That's because PULS is a broker, not an appliance repair company.
My tech didn't have the proper tooling and did not know how to remove shelving or the doors to my fridge so he broke one of the plastic shelf arm retention clips (no, he did not offer to fix or replace it). He also needed assistance interpreting the schematic diagram (he thought it was a wiring diagram). I helped him to understand symbology, circuitry, and where to measure voltage and continuity. I should have been paid the $89!
Nice kid though. Everyone has to 'begin' somewhere so I didn't mind helping him out, just disappointed that I paid $89 to a 'technician' that needed my assistance.
Oh, I found the part I needed at a local appliance store for 10% cheaper than what PULS was going to charge me and I did the job in an hour, saving myself the $283 fee for the tech to replace it.
I sent this message to Puls this morning regarding my experience with them yesterday:
I had an appointment yesterday for a TV mounting in a two or three hour time frame in the afternoon. I got two emails from you, the first saying you would "see [me] soon," the second saying my technician would be someone named "Jose." There was no indication that you were looking for a technician nor any suggestion that my appointment was less than definite. But neither Jose nor anybody else showed up, and I received no notification that you would not be coming.
I called this morning to decide on whether I should "reschedule." When I asked whether I could be assured that someone would come at the appointed time, your representative candidly told me that there could be no guarantee.
On your web site, you purport to make definite appointments for service. If you were honest, you would say that a technician would come "if available." Even worse than this deceptive advertising is not providing any notice to the consumer that the appointment would not be kept.
I will post this message as a review of your company on all appropriate web sites.
THEY SAID WASHER NEEDED NEW $400.00 pump, that was replaced 1 day later washer leaking from
The bottom. They came back yesterday and Hooked up the washer after telling them not to and left washed barrel full of water and water in the floor and rags in the sink. WASHER STILL NOT FIXED.
When we called Puls they arranged for a technician to come and look at our refrigerator which was not keeping things cold or frozen in the freezer. He determined that it needed a defrost heater coil which before we paid him indicated that after he replaced it it would be as good as new. This defrost heater, which by the way Amazon charges between $15.64 and $29.65, and which we $364 (including labor) for. So we relied on the Puls technician and after he left it would still not freeze as required.
I called the technician an hour after he left and he said that it should be working soon. WRONG! It never worked so we asked for a follow-up free visit under their guarantee policy. After he stood us up on Sunday, January 28, (we waited for him all afternoon), he never showed up. The technician returned two days later and then he decided to check the freon, which he not do on his first visit, and said it was in need of more. Had we known initially of the freon need we would have stopped any more service or charges from Puls. We asked Puls to refund us the net difference of $264 ($353-$89) which they refused to do..
They use local independent service people. However, the billing is done by them and the bill is involved and will include a monthly service agreement.
Scheduled same day service. They rescheduled due to overbooking. When rescheduled appointment time came tech TEXTED my husband to diagnose the issue. We had to put down deposit on parts and service call based on said text. Over a week later he came to replace part. Left me fridge in pieces and tried to charge over $200 over quoted price and did NOT include our deposits and charge us for 2 service calls. We insisted on it being changed. Less than an hour later once WE got the fridge back together the fridge was still not working still giving error codes. We called back and were told they would call tech to see when he could come back out. NO RESPONSE - for days! Then we were told that the tech felt that because our whole house was covered in mold it was not safe to be in house. This is a COMPLETE lie! They said we had to have our house (which we are selling) professionally cleaned before they would come out and fix our fridge again - which work THEY guaranteed! I want a refund immediately!
Puls used unprofessional technicians to install TV mounting on a wall. The technician bent an HDMI cable head in order to connect to the TV accordingly damaging the HDMI which is embedded in the wall. They sent another technician who did not have an instrument to check the continuity of an HDMI cable. The technician just bent the cable back and did not do any repairs to the cable. They damaged my property and did not repair it.
They sent a technician to my house who charged me for service and parts then never showed back up. After following up with Puls they refused to reimburse or follow up on any way.
Maintenance work is actually OK; but billing is outrageous. Do NOT ever use this company. Don't bill according to quote. Add numerous additional fees. Will NEVER use them again BEWARE
Unprofessional scheduling and business model -- This company proved itself completely unreliable. After scheduling an appointment on a Thursday, a series of follow-on emails from PULS indicated the serviceperson did not arrive that day "due to high demand in the area" and I could "reschedule" using their APP. I insisted they send another repair person to meet their obligation, and after agreeing to do so at a later time that day, the service person emailed me saying his truck was "over-heating" and that he could not make the appointment. It was two days later, a Sunday, before the next appointment was available. When I replied to the newly assigned repair person on the Sunday he was scheduled to arrive, he texted back "I don't work today (Sunday)." Hence, no repair person ever showed up. I immediately fired PULS and sought an alternative repair option. 1. They do not honor their appointments; 2. The main office has little or no effective communication with the "independent contractors" they employ; 3. No two individuals in the PULS organization ever gave me the same answer on a simple question; 4. They had no difficulty attempting to hard-sell me both over the phone and via email/text on a 'total home appliance warranty' prior to every showing up to complete the original repair order. This is some of the worst customer service I have experienced in recent years.
This company is CORRUPT and should be avoided at all cost. They will scam you and their customer service is abysmal. Similar to other people, I paid $400 for a new dishwasher pump. The next day the dishwasher started flooding and caused thousands of dollars in wall and floor damage. I've called PULS several days in a row and the company refused call me back. Even when I said water is gushing and its an emergency. In the absence of being able to have a rep call me back, I have emailed PULS on numerous occasions and also zero response. It was only until I filed a Better Business Bureau claim did they bother to respond and they refused to refund me for a service not completed.
This is a totally CORRUPT company and I cannot recommend enough NOT using this company. The service is abysmal. The company wont honor the repair work of their incompetent techs and will still stick you with a bill. They are quick to respond to negative posts online but wont actually do anything when your house is flooded.
PULS - If you are getting this you picked on the wrong person to cheat and ignore. You should be out of business.
They signed me up for some plan I wasn't aware of and have been draining my account since. When I tried to Stop it, they wouldn't reimburse me. I used them 3 x's and now this night mare. Be careful!
I contacted Puls to repair my oven that wouldn't turn on- malfunctioning "door lock" button. I chose Puls as they had same day service -- big mistake. I should have looked for these reviews & gone with a local company! Didn't realize they weren't local. The technician came out the same day, spent only a few minutes behind the oven & said he needed to order parts & would be back. He didn't really explain the problem -- just showed me the hand-held electronic invoicing machine & said he would try to save me money by not charging as much for labor. He came back a few days later (after cancelling once) and fixed the problem. It only took him about 15 minutes & I was charged nearly $500 for parts & labor - he charged $155 for extra labor! The worst part is minutes after he left, I get TWO phone calls from customer service asking me to pay the invoice. I was busy & it slipped my mind. The next day I get a text from the technician saying "please pay the invoice otherwise I have to retrieve the parts or the legal way." OMG. What kind of company is this? It's okay for them to cancel appointments but they want their money NOW! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! And after reading these reviews I'll need to monitor my credit card so they don't falsely charge me for a membership which I didn't agree to. Lesson learned.
We purchased an 8 drawer dresser, a 6 drawer dresser and 2 nightstands from IKEA and booked with Puls to assemble. My husband laid out all materials and the instructions for the assembler. The night before our appointment, he called to cancel and change days. On the new scheduled date, he arrived promptly and that's where the good news ends! This person started the job at 10:30 am and did not complete it until 8:30pm, of which my husband put the two nightstands together-I assisted with putting the drawers together for the dresser. He didn't have a clue on how to put the items together. He even called a friend to ask for help and was watching YouTube to learn how to assemble. He claimed he didn't have all the materials needed which was a lie because my husband did an inventory of all items when he laid them out. He was unskilled, unorganized and extremely slow. Upon completion of one of the dressers, the drawer didn't even open & close properly. I requested he fix it before leaving, which he did but as long as he took, it should've been pristine. He apologized for the inconvenience though. I did not tip. I think Puls needs to do a better job of screening people, especially for the high price point. This job cost $545 & he gave 100 off since he didn't do the nightstands or most of the drawers. HA!
