Proxibid should NOT be trusted! Their sellers sell items that are misrepresented. Many items are consigned and they have no idea what their selling. For instance; some may say it's sterling when it's not. Some items may sa "rare", but it's just an adjective to get the buyers to bid.
Also, the software goes to the highest bidder and it's not in increments.

Shell game... not our problem the auction. Of course to the auction it was proxibids. The auction employs proxibid not me. If an employee makes a mistake... fix it. Apparently not interested... smacks of fraud, dishonesty, and carnival 3 card monty.
You read that right... I bid on a land deal in the Bahamas that was a total SCAM. I had to send a $10,000 deposit within 24 hours so as not to leave me time to investigate prior to sending money. When I called Proxibid I had to talk to a lazy lame a$$ guy named Gabriel that was probably in on the scam the whole way because he gave me every lame excuse he could think of to take the scam artists side. One other person got scammed too in the same sale and Gabriel lied to me telling me I was the only one until I gave him names and then he started back peddling. Please BEWARE of Proxibid! They welcome scammers with open arms and they are right there waiting to steal your retirement and your dreams!
Wouldn't take my Visa the first time and then second time I bid didn't let me bid, called and got helped right away. Had to re enter some stuff and then wouldn't take security code for discover card, did take visa card that time and has worked good since.
Buyers beware! I bid on an item in one of their auctions. I won the bid (power washer worth at least $500) for only $10! There was NO RESERVE on the item. I had also won another item. I was informed upon pick up that the seller was not going to sell me the power washer because they wanted more money for it. BUT THERE WAS NO RESEVE! So I said I would not be picking up the other item I won, as the power washer was what I really wanted. So they black listed me from Proxibid. Proxibid stated their understanding but said they would only stand by the buyer regardless. There are better auction companies out there! Look at the reviews for Proxibid... there are many many many comments like mine.
There should be a confirmation of your bid before it is finalized, bid on an item by mistake{clicked to wake up my computer} and ended up buying something I had no intension of buying[thank god it wasn't thousands of dollars] you shoud have to click on your bid at hammer of product like all online auto auctions do. Don't let this happen to you!
Why can't I get an item shipped without all this hoopala? Geez. No cost given to ship. No response asking for item to be shipped. If I didn't know better i'd Swear I am gonna get burned by their telling me I waited too long to request shipping.
Proxibid refuses to release credit card information even though there have been no transactions. I am having all kinds of problems to get them to delete my account. I am reporting my credit card as stolen and I am reporting this business to the BBB.
I was bidding on items in a local estate and out of all those items, when the time was up I was the highest bidder on a piece of jewelry. But then they extended the time for 2 minutes and increased the amount of the minimum additional bid on this one item only! And I was the winner at the end of those 2 minutes. Then they added another 2 minutes with another increased additional bid, but I was still the winner. The 3rd time they did it I didn't bid. At a minimum they are a very unethical firm.
I buy shotguns on ProxyBid. Had very good expeiences with RockIsland and James D. Julia
However gor screwed by Glenworth. The description was none descriptive and pictures did not show problem areas. Most other items were much cheaper and this alone should have raised red flag for me. So I learn my lesson. Do not look for jewels in the pile of junk. Do not deal with Glenworth.
Most auctioneers using proxibid seriously break many auction ethics and the law! Proxibid does jack about it, they only care about the money they make from the auction houses, Beware of Major Misrepresentation lot's of T&C Confusion.
August Tues 14th site crashes halfway during an auction and towards the end. The site has been unavailable in the evenings probably trying to fix the issues with their system Proxibid does some great marketing about how great their service is but a whole load of peolle can waste a whole load of time and lose awhole load of mone trusting these clowns. Peter
I really enjoy using Proxibid. Rather simple to use and understand. The internet premiums can be a bit much, but that's the price you pay for convenience.
Auction company backed they have 0% interest in making sure you get what was advertised. Any misrepresented items no matter how bad the item is misrepresented will NOT BE RESOLVED by proxy bid the only issue they will try to get resolved is the money you owe them regardless of what the Auction house has done wrong. There are many good reliable upstanding companies out there that do this right but proxy bid is not one of them.
It's a fun site - if you like live auctions it can be a great way to catch some super deals. Just remember to keep in mind premiums and shipping costs.
Thanks for the variety of antiques, curio and relics on your auctions. It keeps my business going. Very rarely have I come across any problems and the service is there to help. Thanks capt. John
This time was a solid win. The company had good communication. I haven't been as lucky in the past. Probably the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. Still nursing a sore spot.

I'm new at this and have only looked through what was offered, but have yet to make a bid. From what I've seen, I like so far. Thank you for your time and consideration.
I feel this company does a fine job of preparing their clients for success. Not only was the presentation and training professional, Andy was very thorough and listened just as good as he taught.
I bought a model airplane (plastic) that was in it's original box. The box was about 12X12 X5 inches. The auction sent it to a shipper that packed it in a wardrobe box that was way beyonond the size needed and charged me $15.00 for packing. The item only weighed 1 1/2 pounds.
Echoes of Glory continually misrepresents what they auction. I bought what was described as a survival kit but it was only the container in which a survival kit is packed. They sold a Parachute which was only the pack it came in. Proxibid sets no standards for their auction subscribers. I have many more examples. BEWARE!
Answer: You can end up winning the item anywhere between your initial bid and your high bid. Very often we see the pre-bids are outbid, especially if there is a live onsite crowd. Best advice is to put only the amount you feel good about paying and not a dollar more. When you can, participate live. Not only is it fun, but you can enter your bids as the increments go up. Always be sure your computer is working, close things you do not need running in the background. Also, keep in mind if your max bid is 500, someone onsite might win it for 500-dollars and you are outbid, even though the dollar amount is the same. This happens when you are the highest bidder at 475 and the last bidder happens to be someone in the crowd at 500-dollars. In those cases, it might be good for the person running the Proxibid application to know that you are a max bidder for 500 as well, so they can fight to get your bid in first, before an onsite ringer beats you to it. At that point the onsite bidder has to outbid you for 525, if that is what the increment still is. When you are live online it's really a lot of fun and probably makes much more sense, especially when there is audio, what is going on and why you might be paying your max. If you ever feel treated unfairly as an online bidder, contact Proxibid and also contact the auctioneer for whatever company you are using and ask how you ended up at your max. Hope this helps! Proxibid is supposed to be a fun, easy and enjoyable experience.

Proxibid is an online platform that allows Buyers and Sellers to connect and purchase highly valued items ("Listing(s)") via several selling formats including, but not limited to, live and timed auctions ("Event(s)"). When an individual creates a buyer account ("Buyer"), they must acknowledge and agree to the Proxibid Unified User Agreement ("UUA").
