I should have read these reviews prior to wasting my time with them. I tried to purchase a plane ticket, and after I put in all my info, my booking failed. I didn't make much of it at first, and I ran a different search. All the search results required an overnight stay or a very long layover, which I wasn't willing to do.
I decided that I was going to look elsewhere for a better flight, I found one but when I tried to purchase the ticket my debit cars got declined. I thought that was odd, and when I checked my bank account, I saw a pending charge for $1081 from Priceline. I immediately checked my email to see if maybe my reservation was confirmed after all, but there was no email.
Priceline had put a hold on my funds, even though they didn't give me a ticket. After spending all day on the phone, and speaking to at least 4-5 ppl, including that Celine lady from Customer Relations, and doing at least 3 conference calls between Priceline and my bank, I find out that only Priceline could release my funds.
I spent the whole day doing this; priceline has the decency to tell me that it would take 3-7 business days for my funds to be released. I was furious. I will never ever ever use Priceline again
When you sell something you don't have its called fraud. For Priceline it's standard business practice. I arrived with my family this past Saturday night at the Motel I (thought) I had booked through Priceline. I was told there was no reservation corresponding to my confirmation number. In fact, this motel had stopped accepting reservations booked through Priceline because of recurrent problems with overbooking, doublebooking, making reservation when no rooms were available. They had done this before the date I had made the original reservation. When I called Priceline I was told "yes you do have a reservation for the night." Priceline was not able to find a room for me, so I had to scramble to find one of the few remaining motel rooms in town and pay an extra $300 for a place that was definitely no palace. Priceline agreed to reimburse me for the difference if I could find a place "with a comparable number of stars." I haven't tried to get reimbursed yet but, you and I can see what their excuse will be a mile away: " the original room you booked and paid for was only 2.5 stars and the room you stayed at was 3 stars"... This is clearly not a mistake, or an isolated incident it is a fraudulent business practice which is tolerated if not dictated by the CEO (Brett Keller). I encourage everyone reading this to BOYCOTT PRICELINE!
Havent used priceline for a long time now I remember why - the "too good to be true pricing" on a rental car is quickly wiped away by fees and trickery. I paid priceline 377.77 for a rental car... when I got charged an unexpected amount on my credit card I called Budget and they revealed to me (erroneously) that priceline only paid them 325.77, keeping 52.50 of my money as profit. So my total bill from Budget was 395.98. So instead of owing them the difference from what I paid to Priceline of 18.21 ended up costing me 70.71. I had to cover Pricelines profit. While this might seem like small potatoes/come out in the wash,... the reality is I thought I was paying for 7 days of a car, taxes and fees on that car. What the confirmation should have said is 7 days of a car, taxes and fees AND PRICELINES profit on that car. Its a sobering reminder that if you have a budget and you try to take advantage of a good deal to stay within that budget, that you are going to go overbudget because of glazing over the true price of a car rental... will be going directly thru car place from now on...
Priceline IS A SCAM i booked a hotel on the site that clearly shows a pool. After i booked i called to make sure my reservation was in and thet the pool would be open, i was informed that this location doesnt have a pool on the website (priceline) it shows a pool. Called priceline the refused to refund me or switch hotels. I explained it showes a pool on the site she says those are just advertisings I said i need a refund or to cxl and be refuned she said we don't refund spoke with a supervisor she said she cant refund me because of a picture. I am LIVID. Never again with them!
I booked a refundable flight, and tacked on a rental car. Then I realized I didn't need the rental car and tried to cancel. Unfortunately, it only said in the fine print that the rental car could not be canceled, even a month in advance.
The fine print said that the rental car could not be canceled if you purchased with the "Name your price" plan. I was never asked to name my price or told I was purchasing with the name your price plan, so this basically seems like a scam. To top it off, it says nothing about the car being non-refundable until you're almost done with the payment (I went through it again to verify this)
This seems ridiculous to me, because other sites like orbitz and yahoo travel allow you to completely cancel rental cars up to 24 hours in advance.
The agent tried to get me to just suck up the loss, but I got angry and asked to speak to their manager. Eventually, they told me I could only cancel the rental car if I also canceled the flight, and payed a $36 fee.
No way to cancel the rental car without canceling the flight?! You gotta be kidding me. It's not like the rental cars come attached to the plane.
They talk about how great their negotiator is in their ads, but instead of him negotiating for you, it's more like you're negotiating against him.
Stay away from this site. Use orbitz or yahoo travel, which both have much better customer service, and allow rental car cancellations.
NOBODY BOOK TROUGH THIS BUSINESS UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN. Their website glitched causing me to book a room for 15 days after I needed it, when I IMMEDIATELY tried to correct it I was told it was nonrefundable and they couldnt change it. I have gone through it ALL trying to get my money back including contacting the hotel and the hotels corporate and been told that ONLY Priceline has the final say in refunding me, and guess what? Priceline says too bad theres nothing they can do. THEIR WEBSITE IS DESIGNED TO STEAL YOUR MONEY AND THEY GOT MINE AND WONT GIVE IT BACK. Save yourself the trouble and book through expedia.com they are the real MVP at least they warn you the room in nonrefundable and offer you insurance on your booking in case you need to cancel. Priceline is a joke!
Car rental for a week due to mechanical problems with mine. I picked up car & had it 4 #1 day¿ no refund
Very Very bad policy I book and trip which was a great price., but we booked an event and all details about event where not online. The ad said pick up at hotel. When we call to confirm they said our hotel was to far and they only pick in one area. There was no parking for us to drive to the event and priceline would not give me a refund or anything, said there is no refunds. Then they say no fees but when we printed everything out there was like 200 in fee's. Taxes ok I know we pay that but other fees for 200 and then hotel fee and then car rental did not have insurance so that was another fee so I paid another 347 on top of what we paid priceline and the lost 112 for the event we could not get to, cause it was on the other side of the island. The only happy part of the trip was the hotel was nice and clean and staff was great we stood at the Embassy suites dorada hotel and casino del mar in Dorado Puerto Rico. But priceline suck's and I lost alot of money to beware when booking with them.
Basically I used my credit card to hold a rental car for me and when I reached my destination I went to pick up the car and found out my card was charged so I canceled the reservation but got charged anyway so I called my credit card company and disputed the charge and priceline kept my money their reason I shouldn't have disputed the charge I should have just called them and they would have given me back my money. So now I'm having to pay priceline for a vehicle I never got because I questioned a charge I should have never gotten. But I will be getting a lawyer and sueing them for my money plus all the interest I have raked up due to this charge that should have never been charged in the first place all I want is my money refunded back to my card!
BOOKED A TRIP FLIGHT + HOTEL + RENTAL CAR, THEY BOOKED THE RENTAL CAR PICK UP@ 11:59 PM AND MY PLANE ARRIVAL@ 12:15 AM NEW YEAR'S EVE. RENTAL CAR DESK *******@12:00 AM. ME AMY FAMILY WERE LEFT ON THE STREET@ TAMPA AIRPORT TILL 4:15 AM
TRYING TO FIND LYFT OR UBER OR ANY TAXI WITCH WAS NOT AVAILABLE THAT NIGHT,
ALSO WHEN I GOT TO THE AIRPORT THE NEXT DAY TO PICK UP THE RENTAL IT WAS A FEE THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR OF $24.50 THAT I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT... IT WAS THE WORST NIGHT I HAD WITH A WIFE AND LITTLE KID ON STREET WITH NO HELP EVEN DOUGH I HAVE THE MONEY FOR THE RIDE, BUT THE RIDE NEVER CAME UNTILL AFTER 4 AM.
BE AWARE NOT GET IN THE SAME SITUATION I HAD, NOT MENTIONING PRICELINE COULDN'T DO MORE THEN JUST HEARING ME COMPLAINT WITH OPOLOGIES...
I booked a flight through a Canadian website (BCAA) and after purchasing, saw right away there was an error, the return date was Aug 6th instead of Aug 7th. I called customer service immediately, minutes after my purchase. I was connected to 'Priceline' (buyer beware! Don't use the BCAA website to purchase a ticket because it is actually Priceline) I didn't get any discount on my ticket compared to buying direct from Westjet, which I will make sure I do in the future. Priceline customer service wanted $100+30 USD to change my date, but, if you are an American, you can change the ticket free of charge within 15 minutes of purchase. I complained to BCAA, they connected me to Priceline who then said they would change the ticket for $30+$20 USD. It took my entire lunch hour on the phone and I still didn't get the ticket changed. I called back the next day and Priceline now wants $160 + $30+$20 +cost of ticket difference, absolutely a rip-off on a $250 airline ticket. Don't use Priceline, there is no price reduction, only price increase over the cost of buying directly from the airline. There is only disadvantages to the customer who buys through Priceline. Scam company.
I was put on hold by priceline escalations department after the first name on a reservation was JOSE and it was suppose to be JOSEPH. They wanted to charge me $75 to put the "ph" on the end of the name and said it was an airline fee. I spoke with american airlines and they stated there wouldnt be a change fee. I was transferred from customer care and then spoke with the escalation department where I told them the issue and they put me on hold for 73 mins before I hung up! WORST SERVICE EVER
I will never use Priceline again. Priceline need to drop their partnership with Next Car or its gonna hurt their business. I was supposed to get a rental car from Next Car also known as Allied car rental in Puerto Rico. When we got there it was supposed to be 70.00. But, they thought we were tourist So they started with the insurance that I bought with the rental car. Everything was supposed be covered. They then tell me oh you need liability insurance also. I look at the policy that I had to prepay for ahead of time. They tell me oh its not enough. Its mandatory to have this insurance and its 11.00 a day. Then they tell me you need Tolls. Its 10.00 a day. I said I don't think I will use tolls. She tells me. Well if you go through a toll in the car, Then you will be fined $50.00 for every toll that you go through. If you don't have ez toll. I say ok. Will i be refunded for the tolls I don't use? She says no. Then she said now I will need a $250. Deposit. I said ok. So its just a hold until I bring the car back right? She says no, you wont be refunded you $250. Until 10-15 business days. How can a simple rental go from $80. To almost $500. By the end of the total transaction. I was like no thank you. I lost my money for the insurance that I was told to pre- pay for that is connected to the rental car. Called Allianz global. This sucks. Thankful for Uber. I called them and they picked me up. You wont force me into being scammed. I didn't see the reviews until while I was there. The company have a 1 please stay clear of Next Car and Allied rental. They are the same. Save your self the trouble.
Priceline rates the Grand Hotel in Fort Lauderdale as a 3.5 star hotel when in fact they are transient hotel not worthy of 1 star, Priceline offered no resolution in this matter and told me I was SOL
Had used Priceline for first time to book a rental car. Originally booked for three days as there was going to be a few hours over 48, no problem, or so I thought. My airline was delayed by 6 hours and therefore erased my overage of time so I used the car for less than 48 hrs (2days). Alamo advised me before I picked up the car that there was nothing they coul do about the price paid because it was prepaid through Priceline and I would new to call them (and Alamo said not to expect any help or refund from them). Well that's what I got when I called Priceline customer service, a run around tryin to blame Alamo by saying that since I checked the vehicle out and back in without talking to Alamo first then there was nothing they could do to refund the day not used. So what could have been praise for a good deal now becomes a complaint and promise that I won't actually use Priceline again. Oh by the way Alamo and the first hotel I stayed at on my trip advise me to use them to find a cheap price but call the actual hotel / rental companies to price match thereby cutting these third party companies out of the loop. Just saying, you can't stay in business by screwing your customers. I will use Priceline as a bargaining chip only, but will never book with them again!
Priceline's travel insurance is a complete joke. When my flight got canceled, they refused to cover me! What do I need insurance for, if not for situations like a cancellation?!?!?!? What a ripoff
Priceline is a joke nowadays. I have used them in the past quite often, but recently I have decided I will not waste my time on them. Too many other choices with better customer service and no gimmicks. Had two separate hotel stays booked within the same week and had bad experiences all around. Seems that all of the express deals were really not available if you tried to book them. Wasted soo much time entering in all of my information, even down to all payment information five times, only to have all five of them turn up unavailable in the end. So I selected a hotel and finally booked a room thru priceline at just an average rate. The room I was given at this hotel was on the top floor, directly below all of the airconditioning units. Those were turning off and on all night long! The second room I booked a few nights later was considered downtown Nashville, but it was a $10 cab ride to actually get downtown. Definitely not walking distance. And again the room was substandard for the price. This room had 2 x 4s with 1/2 inch gaps between them as part of the ceiling partially covered in painted duct tape. This was seen up above the window if you looked up under the window treatment. NO noise protection. My kids got an xrated sex show that they could hear as clear as if it were going on right within our own room. MORTIFYING! Bottom line, I think the hotel gives the priceline customer their very worst rooms, knowing that they will not have to deal directly with the customer. And they assume no responsibility for customer satisfaction.
DO NOT USE, I booked a trip on Priceline.com they changed the return flight to what was convenient to them (i did not notice) until i went to print out my boarding passes, I contacted them and they could not do anything. The return flight was a month not a week later. I had to buy 3 more return flight tickets, now that i am back home I checked my account not only did they charge me over a $1200 dollars for the flight, but they cancelled it and I had to stay up all night to get it reinstated (even though i NEVER cancelled it) they then refunded me $574.02 on the day of the flight. But then charged me a additional $782.68 5 days after i returned. After being on the phone with them for well over 3 hours. 2 hours on hold, they said it was THEIR mistake but I need to wait until they are ready to refund my money when asked to to elevated i was told that their was no one higher than a level 1 supervisor. I went to Priceline for a discount flight but it ended up costing me $1200 more than booking thru the airline. Save your self the headache DO NOT USER FOR AIR TRAVEL
If I could give negative stars I would. I booked a trip through Priceline and also paid for the insurance just in case. My sister and I got COVID and of course, Priceline said they couldn't refund me and suggested I submit a claim through insurance I submit the claim. I requested some documentation that the insurance company asked for and now Priceline is saying they gave me a credit which I was not aware of this is very misleading I will never use Priceline again. STAY AWAY FROM PRICELINE!
Long story short 4 miles from checking in hotel, phone rings. Priceline lets me know they are going to have to cancel my reservation due to the hotel being overbooked. But hey we will refund you plus 20% or you can make your own reservation and we'll reimburse you the difference. Well that's great, but all of Nashville was booked and everything within 80 miles was booked due to the Ed Sheeran Concert. No kidding the same concert I was attending, now with NO place to get ready and no place to stay afterwards. Went to the hotel and they confirmed that 3rd party hotels do not get confirmations as they should even though I was holding one in hand. Terrible way to start our one night away, but we made the most out of it. We ended up staying in Cookville. We arrived there around 330 am in the morning. Thanks Priceline! You made our date night beyond stressful and I want to make sure no one else makes the same mistake. It's not worth the 25.00 you might save. Book thru the hotel and have a Guaranteed Reservation!
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
