If I could give Priceline a negative review I would. I made my car rental reservation prior to COVID 19 pandemic. I tried to cancel my reservation through Priceline, but was directed to the car rental place. Went the car rental website and saw that they were very flexible, allowing customers who had reservations directly with them for this time period to cancel. It directed individuals who booked through third parties to call the third party company. Called Priceline and was told that the type of reservation I made could not be canceled and that I was made aware of that during my booking. Fair enough, but how was I to anticipate a pandemic, or stay at home orders? If everyone is changing their policies to accommodate the unprecedented situation, why can't Priceline? I am not asking for a refund, only a credit to be applied to future booking. Shame on you Priceline! I will never use your services again. If you can't show compassion and be more flexible to your customers during times of crisis, what does it say about you?
I am a little experinced on priceline so this review is to help you gain some knowledge on how to make this website and features work for you.
First if you know you need a hotel, always and I mean always use the name your price feature. This feature allows you to choose say a 4 star hotel and offer a set price for that hotel in a certain area. IF any of the hotels are willing to accept your price you pay for it at that time.
We book a 3.5 star hotel in downtown Miami about 3 months before our cruise and saved $300 on the hotel for 2 nights. We told it our dates and what area of Miami we needed a room in and offered our price. It ran our price and matched us with a great hotel for our price.
We also was able to book our plane tickets right on the site. Sure we paid the same price as we would about anywhere but the fact that we did both the airline and hotel all on one website was really nice.
I have never had a bad experience with this site and think if you use it right you can find it useful. Good luck.
I rented a standard car through the Priceline site. Granted, it was via the 'name your own price' link, but the car was disgusting. Avis/Budget (same company now) was unwilling to replace the vehicle. When I told them it smelled of smoke, and was overwhelming and was a trigger for asthma attacks, they would not budge nor do anything about it. I was willing to drive from Camdem to Atlantic City to swap the car, even for a smaller, less expensive car class. There was no working with them. I was told their fleet of cars are 'no smoking,' so no one could have possibly smoked in the vehicle. As soon as the door to the car was opened, one was met with a wave of smoke-scented hot air.
In response to that, I wholeheartedly encourage people renting cars to avoid Priceline's 'name your own price,' avoid Priceline entirely and avoid Avis/Budget at all cost. Hertz has great cars, AMAZING customer service and their rates are competitive, especially with the Gold membership (no cost).
I hope this review gets back to Avis/Budget and Priceline. I DID send letters to both companies. No word back from Priceline, and Avis sent a coupon for a free weekend day in one of their stenchy vehicles.
Before you accept, they have on their own invoice and site what they will charge your credit. They overcharged my credit card and I contacted them right away. After trying to do simple math with the rep for over half hour, I ask for manager. I told him look at the invoice and I have the charges displayed on my credit card and told him they overcharged me. Took few try but finally he agree and gave me an email to submit my invoice and copy of my credit card charge. I waited a few days since they were pending on my credit card then submitted. I was told to give them 5-7 days. After 2 weeks of nothing, I called customer service again and after an infuriating conversation with a rep, I asked for a manager since she just keep telling me I must request cancellation to get my refund and I keep repeating it's not refundable but I can get the difference back after I prove I was overcharged and she even found my email with the invoice and credit card charge. Unfortunately she didn't find any notes from last manager but her manager agree with me and said I didn't need to request cancellation to get reimbursed for difference and she will escalate it and to give 5-7 days. After 7th day still nothing so contacted my credit card company. I will not book anything from Priceline again. This company should go out of business with blatant overcharges and won't right anything they did wrong.
I paid USD 360 for a room at the Mercure Paddington London where the rack rate is GBP 89! The room shown when making the booking bears no resemblance to the actual room. When I challenged Priceline their response is you are saving against a pool of rack rates - what A CON.
Priceline all they care about is making their money, will but you in whatever hotel, and when the cleanliness is not up to standards, they recuse to refund your money
Worst customer services lied about the price, they won't change, modify or cancel your booking, what type of business this is. Don't use Please! Learn it from me, if only I knew.
They took our money for a hotel that doenst exist anymore and the lil $#*! boy at customer service hung up on me these people are nothing but scam artist thieves
Booked a rental and hotel with Priceline to go to Orlando. The rental car company was horrible I declined their insurance and they charged me $90 to decline their insurance on top of what I already paid. I asked if the shuttle would be running at 430 in the morning I was told yes. That was a lie when I returned the car I was told 10 minutes for the shuttle 25 minutes later I had to take a Lyft to airport to not be any later for flight. The name of the rental car place is Nextcar it should be nightmare. Stayed at Townplace suites Flamingo Crossing which was nice no issues until I check out.I had prepaid for the rental and the hotel. I go to check out and I'm told that I owe for my stay even though I have proof that I paid before I even got there. I was told that Priceline virtual card had been declined and that is the reason for it. After I provided proof I was told they would issue a refund for the amount I was charged. I contacted Priceline and told them what happened they contacted the hotel. Still no refund to my account had to dispute with my credit card. Spoke to a supervisor at Priceline who told me when I advised I should have some type of compensation for these inconvenience that there was nothing she would do and I could use other search engines as that's my right. I used my Priceline app for the majority of my travel plans but I will be deleting and installing Expedia. I have no interest in ever using them again.
On 13/05/2015 I bid on a hotel in Montreal, QB Canada and my bid for two nights was for a total f $190.08 at Crown Plaza Montreal airport after this successful bid, I received an email from priceline that has all my hotel reservation information with the total of $190.08 which what I was bid on. However, my credit card was charged $229.30, I called priceline and asked them why is the price is different, they told me no that is what you bid for! I told them no what I bid for is what I got from you by the email and I told them that I can reply the email for them and let them check it. They refused to do anything or to refund my money and they also let me know that if I cancelled the reservations that they would keep the money! No one at Priceline tried to remotely help! Priceline needs to be investigated!
Their customer service & the supervisor who I talked to are impolite, rude, and not even willing to tranfer the call to someone in higher position. They treat their customer like garbage even it is their fault! Never use Priceline again unless you want to get fooled like a pig.
Just at the end of my story, I want to say a word of truth "I have used priceline for almost 3 years for booking more than 23 rental, cars, hotels, and flights" and everything went with them peacefully. However, it seems to me that nothing stay good and everything keep changing. Please ovid them and never trust them.
My husband and I booked a one night stay at a reputable hotel in Keywest through Priceline at $432.00 night. At that price point we expect great accommodations. It was a 1st floor room. I woke up to 2 warm like bugs crawling on the ceiling. I jumped up and screamed for my husband to kill them before they fell on me on the bed. When we open the curtains to let some light in, to out horror, we realized that these bugs were all over the room in different areas at least 10 were located some crawling others curled up in the carpet. We alerted management. They apologized for the inconvenience and said they would refund our money if we booke directly but since we booked through Priceline, we should contact them and they'd refund our money. After multiple calls Priceline refused to refund the $432.00 and did nothing to contact the hotel on our behalf. After the hotel manager inspected the room and witnessed these bugs crawling in the carpet, the hotel processed a refund. Needless to say that this was a gross and traumatizing experience. Most importantly we learned that we should avoid Priceline and a use a booking service that will stand with their customers if there's a concern or complaint. Priceline only worries about their money and could care less about customer satisfaction. I chose not to disclose the hotel chain or post the pictures and videos because the hotel manager did the right thing and refunded our money. As for Priceline Stay away.
Be advised, Priceline has started slipping in booking fees through their partner travel india outlet who is now handlng all airline bookings. All prices include and extra $50-100 extra dollars more than booking directly with any other company online, including booking directly with the airline. They deny it when you asked them about it, but check your credit card statment when they put the charge through and you will see 3 different charges, including one to the airline which was the actual ticket fee.
And dare I forget to mention: NO PRICELINE MATCH GUARNATEE ANYMORE even after fighitng with them for 3 days and sending them all the screenshots
Priceline gave me a total of 94.02 for a 2 day basic car rental. When I got to Hertz, I was quoted a daily price of $12/day. How the hell is that a deal! Kiss my AZZ PRICELINE!
I use priceline for hotels and flights sometimes but Im very disappointed because this has happened to me a few times where I purchase a flight or a hotel with the wrong dates by mistake I call them to see if they can help me to cancel or change the dates I tell the I will rebook through them again with correct dates, well they tell me reservation is can not be change or cancel, I tell them I book through them for years and they don't care at all, priceline rather to loose a client than helping you and keep you as a client. That's the main reason I give them 2 stars, I've been doing customer service for many years and to me they don't appreciate the client, and another thing the Customer service Rep can't speak English so is very hard to understand, I believe they haver their center at another Country. I will never book through them ever again.
Watch out Priceline is a nasty crooked group. I purchased a hotel room via priceline express deals (not name your own price) and realized I needed a hotel closer by so I booked with another hotel as well via priceline express deals and I also purchased trip interruption insurance thinking that I could cancel. NEVER PURCHASE TRIP INTERRUPTION INSURANCE it does not enable you to cancel and price line turns your claim over to a 3rd party who only pays a portion of the insurance. I have used priceline for years without a problem but they got me big time on this one. They would not let me cancel either reservation even though the hotel did process the canelation. I disputed the charge on my credit card and it was removed only to have priceline place the charge again. SNEAKY and SLEAZY should be priceline's name. And to hell with you William Shatner for supporting these crooks.
I have been a loyal VIP customer for 20+ years and after today, I will NEVER use priceline for my bookings ever again. I paid $1007 per ticket for airfare through priceline, the price dropped to $450 per ticket, and they would do NOTHING for me- I called the airline direct and had I booked through them, I would have paid a $99 change fee, and then rebooked my flights for the going price. Priceline would do NOTHING - and have lost a customer for life! Hope its worth it.
Booked a hotel and with in30 min of booking had a medical emergency with my sin so I tried to cancel and was told I could not so they take your money anyway.
DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM PRICELINE. THEY DO NOT GOVE REFUNDS. SOMEONE ELSE MADE A RESERVATION UNDER MY NAME. I CALLES TO DISPUTE IT AND THEY ROLD ME I CANT GET MY $400 BACK. THERE GOES MY HARD EARNED MONEY. YOU ARE BETTER OFF WITH KAYAK, ORBITZ OR EXPEDIA
Trying to cancel my ticket to New York for COVID-19 related reasons within 24 hours of reservation customer service trying to buy the time until you pass the 24 hours then they will tell you you are not eligible for a refund stay away
Priceline Customer Service:
My family ordered our very first airline tickets from Priceline last Spring. After a few difficult years (divorce, foreclosure, deaths in the family, etc.), my adult children and I decided that a Christmas spent out of townsomeplace warm and sunnywould be the ideal Christmas gift for all of us.
I had never ordered tickets from Priceline before, but we decided to do so. We always buy flight insuranceand this time was no different. The destination we chose?
Puerto Rico.
Our hearts go out to the people of Puerto Rico, and we would love to visit there sometime, but 2017 is definitely not our year to vacation there. We have respectfully requested a refund of our tickets at least twice and were denied both times.
It is absolutely impossible for the four of us to find a time we can travel together by the voucher deadline (date of purchase, May 9.) Nor do we want a dream vacation to turn in to a rushed, last-minute trip that we only take because well have wasted flights otherwise.
Please re-consider your refund policy and allow the refund of at least two of our four tickets that were purchased for Puerto Rico this Christmas. It was a big financial commitment to treat all of us to such a trip. Imagine my distress when I learned the flight insurance I had purchased did not protect me from Hurricane Maria and its aftermath.
Thank you for re-considering. Your commercials advertise your great rates, and Im hoping you can be noted for your great customer service, as well.
Sincerely,
Nancy Williams Parks and Family
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
