Have you ever had an unexpected change in travel plans not in your control? If you it happens with this company, you are absolutely SCREWED!
My flight was canceled... on the day of my trip...
Called Priceline for assistance, this is how the conversation went...
Me: Hi, my flight was just canceled and I am not sure what to do - can you help?
Priceline rep: Yes, I will be happy to help you cancel you reservations.
Me: No, I am not trying to cancel, my flight was canceled. Can you please help me with my options?
Priceline rep: Why did you cancel your flight?
Me: I didn't cancel my flight, the airline canceled my flight?
Priceline rep: When did you cancel your flight?
Me: I didn't cancel my flight, there is an issue with the flight and I am trying to figure out what to do next.
Priceline rep: Ok, I will contact the airline and cancel your flight for you?
Four representatives later and 1.5 hours on the phone, this story repeats itself.
Conclusion... I had to spend an additional $700 to change my flights. Priceline could care less, offered no assistance, and just gave me the run around.
Never again will I use their service.
Placed an order on site, called with in 3 mins to cancel due to other person coming with already booked. Called the car company and they cancelled no problem and said that priceline would need to refund. When I called priceline, was told that they dont do any refund what so ever! Explained situation and they didnt care. When i asked for a manager as the site says free cancelation, the Guy named Tray said that they were busy with other callers that were a priority, BUT he would send up a ticket anyway! Still waiting to hear back from manager as it has been more than the time he quoted me for wait time...
NEVER USING THEM AGAIN and DETURING OTHERS!
I book very often for business and personal and tend to use various travel companies. This time with Priceline I had a to make an adjustment with a car rental (returning it two days earlier than planned) and I was told I couldn't adjust the reservation. This is 37 Days Beforehand. I then requested to just cancel the reservation and, again I was told that I couldn't because of their policy. I thought this was amazing because of the 37 Day notice and the conversation turned into a "Who's on first" with me asking why and her saying 'because of the policy'. I would ask, "what's the Policy" and she would say "that you can't cancel it"... then I would say "why?" (and repeat.).
VERY disappointed with the service and their 'policy'. Perhaps a day before would be difficult to manage but, I certainly feel 37 Days is plenty of time to allow slipping past this ridiculous policy.
Many companies offer the same Travel access and deals but I've certainly had much better luck with customer service with other companies both with courteous customer service providers and "policies".
Last night, I used Priceline (for the first time) to book a room at a hotel in the area where we were traveling. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that they were completely sold out. Further, since they had previous customers arrive with Priceline bookings, the manager had called Priceline to ensure that they stopped overbooking the property! Since my booking fee was non-refundable, I called Priceline to try an get my money back. They needed to talk to the front desk people (who were very busy booking in other clients), so that took a while. Then, I had to talk to their relocation people. The first person I talked to didn't have his tools working (!). The second person could find rooms on their system but when I had her call to confirm, she found out that they were also sold out. Thus, the Priceline system seems to be worthless. Eventually, she told me that she couldn't find a room and that she wouldn't book me into a higher price hotel without charging me the difference (seems really odd since it was totally a Priceline issue). After over an hour on the phone, I managed to get a refund. Then, I used Hotels.com to book a room. Never again will I use Priceline. William Shatner, you let me down.
I purchased a plane ticket from priceline.com sadly. I set up a plane ticket for the 19th to arrive on the 20th at 5 am. I scheduled my PTO and car rental around that time frame. When going over my ticket i noticed it said the 18th. I called and expected something, instead I received not one, not two, but three "Extraordinary Customer Service Representatives" <---( Joke!) 1 being a supervisor. I was told over and over again what the itinerary said, knowing good d@#@d well I knew what it said that was why I was calling. They refused to do anything about it, then told me that to cancel would cost me half of the ticket price. The supervisor I could barely understand had to have her repeat herself 6 times til i finally gave up.
If you are looking for a good deal stay away from this company, they are dishonest, unethical, American Job killing outsourcing thieves. I have to fly at least 8 more times this year, they can count on me NEVER using this scummy company again
In the meantime I get to lose more money by my Job extra non PTO time, changing my car rental etc. Im very upset, there should be some law that prohibits companies altering your scheduled time at time of purchase.
Booked a trip with a live agent whom lied about the room type and details also once I received the confirmation, the amount was more than I was quoted. Contacted customer service at least a dozen times and advised them to listen to the recording which they refuse to do. All they can do is have me wait until checkin, 60 days from now, and upgrade the room then but they cannot guarantee room availability. The issue is there are 5 of us and the room they lied about only sleeps 4 and a sofa bed or cot cannot be provided with the room type due to the fire code.
The priceline rep moved the room reservation to one that has a sofa bed. I called the hotel the next morning and priceline removed 3 guests, 2 were adults. Hotel will charge additional fees for additonal adults. Remains unresolved. I would recommend not using Priceline.
Updated 4/30/21.11 days and still not resolved. Priceline moved the room type to the one we originally requested, however removed 2 guests. The hotel charges 20 per night for adiitonal adults. Gets better, they charged the credit card however, the hotel does not charge until checkout.
Priceline has terribly uncelar policies as this is how they make their profit. I booked a car rental and intentionally didn't use any of their "name my own price" features as I understand that is like an auction. Instead I just booked a regular car rental and after I gave them my credit card I discovered:
* I had bought insurance not from the rental car company but form some other 3rd party
Company! The whole point is to avoid any hassles, charges, and paperwork when picking up and dropping off the card. This doesn't help me at all.
* I had pre-paid and it was 100% non-refundable. I contacted priceline within 3 minutes of seeing the confirmation page with the wacky insurance details and was told that no matter what, nothing was cancelable or refundable as the card was charged immediately. (Despite the fact that there is only an authorization and not an actual charge on my card.)
So I am left with no option but to dispute the charge with my credit card company - meaning I probably wasted my entire $800! Priceline sticks and takes advantage of older people!
Very bad experience with Priceline first when I came to Bangkok and found my hotel reservation has been cancelled by Priceline and now, I am writing this email from Bangkok my flight should be on 27 May from BKK to Istanbul I am trying to exchange it I realized there is no reservation from BKK to Istanbul I am very frustrated Please I need help here is my phone number **************
Sorry to say very rude people who try to help me.
I called many times nobody helps unfortunately.
I went online and booked a trip to Orlando with flight car and hotel. The only problem I have is with the hotel it's called Main gate and it's in Kissimmee Florida. I checked in on 8/23/23 and checked right back out the very next day. I got transferred to three rooms and all three rooms were very nasty. The first room the air did not work and the rug was dirty. The second room the rug was dirty and the water did not work in the shower, the third room I stayed in because I had no choice when I checked out I got my resort fees back from maingate, but Priceline will not give me back the money since they have not received a response from their email from the hotel. I will never do business with priceline again and I cannot believe they do business with main gate. It is a nasty hotel that nobody should have to stay at. I received an email from priceline stating since they did not receive a response from their email to the hotel, they will not be refunding me my money for the four days which is unbelievable to me Priceline just lost a customer
I made a reservation and before I knew that they made a reservation for tonight and not two nights from now they had already processed the room. I have to drive 2 hrs to take my 4 yr old daughter in for mouth surgery. They asked I be there by 630 am. With 3 children we planned since I was going alone it would be best. When I called in and told them this they refused to change the dates. They said they'd discount the cancelation 50% if I rebooked the rooms. Fine but that's still $90 I have to pay in the end of they refund me. If not I pay $120 plus travel costs.
I asked for if I rebooked if they'd somehow put my daughters name and insurance number on it so I could submit it to insurance. (My insurance would refund one night due to the mix up and Priceline not working with us). They refused to put any of her information on the receipt so I could send it in. And wanted me to pay for insurance on the room.
I understand it's their policy. But most places would allow to change dates if you still pay them. And the fact it's a health related thing this is upsetting. So in return I get to pay double for a room or wake my 5 yr old, 3 yr old, and 3 month old baby up at 330 am and drive 2 hrs
Had to cancel our travel arrangements due to illness. The airlines refunded our money but when we went to cancel our car rental Hertz said if it had been booked through them there would be no issue, if the car is not picked up the reservation is automatically canceled but because we booked through Priceline we had to deal with them. They refused to refund our money even with a Doctors note. The customer service was not only rude but refused to even discuss the situation. We are out $150.00! DO NOT USE PRICELINE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!
I booked a ROUNTRIP flight through Priceline. I realized that I had the incorrect time so I cancelled my trip within the allotted time of 24 hrs. Priceline booked me for 2 separate ONE WAY trips and only one was cancelled. I still have to pay for one way. That's TERRIBLE and VERY DECEIVING.
Worst company to deal with! DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH THEM. Booked a hotel with them, they confirmed but later said it wasn't available and gave me a way inferior hotel in a worse location and told me it was "even better". I refused to stay in the new hotel and went to the original one I wanted and the hotel said they had availability. I asked Priceline to transfer me back to the original hotel I wanted to which they NEVER responded in time and my WHOLE 13 night booking at the other hotel was completely cancelled because Priceline did not bother informing me that if I didnt show up the first night, it would be null. So Priceline basically just stole $3500 and won't do anything to fix other than give generic excuses. Absolutely useless customer service. They will take your money and run with it.
This company should be sued for FRAUD!
DONT BOOK WITH PRICELINE THERE STEALING FROM PEOPLE THEY WILL ALLOW YOU TO BOOK A RESERVATION AT A HOTEL AND WHEN U GET TO THE HOTEL THEY TELL YOU THAT THERE BOOKED AND SORRY WE CANT REFUND YOU HOW DO THEY EVEN ALLOW YOU TO MAKE A RESERVATION AT A BOOKED HOTEL THEREFORE THERE STEALING FROM THE GUEST AND I WANT MY REFUND AND I DIDNT WANT TO GIVE ANY STARS BUT THEY MADE ME IN ORDER TO POST A REVIEW I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU
I book a king room a month an half before date. Got a double bed room with terriable beds. They owe me money back but because they dont speak good english they are terriable. Never again. GO THOUGH OTHER ONES. DONT GO THOUUGH PRICELINE. They sold to a out of country company...
I rented a Ford Explorer "Full Size SUV" six month before our vacation, just double checking everything before we left I call Dollar Rental Car to confirm, they told me something was incorrect, they see I rented a Full Size SUV but Priceline transmitted the reservation as a Full SIze Car? They told me to call Priceline, Priceline told me no problem something went wrong and to modify my reservation and rebook the vehicle, its was $ 350.00 more? Priceline said sorry but couldn't help, wasn't able to explain but they couldn't do anything, after two supervisors still nothing - just going to forward it to the next team to review, buyer beware - terrible customer service, when I first asked for a supervisor i was told they would tell me the same answer and it didn't matter who i talked to? Booking with Priceline cost me $ 350.00 not a great way to treat customers
If you want to pay outrageous amounts then go to this website!
If you go onto the website and see a GREAT deal... you will soon find out it is just a catch to get you to spend more!
I called them and the package for two was suppose to be 500 dollars and they set it up and then it was o it went up 11 dollars so I said that was fine... then it jumped all the way to 723 dollars because suddenly in about 2 seconds it had become unavailable.
Needless to say when I asked about it they had no answers were extremely rude to me and said o sometimes the internet may be wrong we have the MOST updated prices... HAHAH then I continued to check out the website because they told me maybe the website was slightly slower and it was still the same price for a week after o and I just looked and still there!
I however went to a different website. Got a round trip direct flight, free baggage, 5 nights in a hotel, two free day trips, and money back gurantee for nearly half the price and am completely satisfied!
Don't let these people trick you
I was only trying to book a vacation for my birthday and was treated like CRAP!
We booked a car rental through Priceline/Ace Car Rental. Paid for in advance. After we booked we read all the reviews with Ace and read where many, many people got to the pick up location and there was no car available. Also, Ace made them pay up to $500 in addition to the rental for other charges such as insurance (not needed). We called Priceline and they would not help. They said the rental was non refundable. We did not want a refund we wanted the monies transferred to another car rental service through Priceline. We asked a supervisor what happens when we get to Ace and no car is available (we are both seniors and my husband has a heart condition). They said we would have to call Priceline (in the Phillipines) at approximately 8 pm and they would see what they would do, had no suggestion as to how we would be helped. Totally outrageous that the United States has to contact the Phillipines to try to work out a situation at night with no guarantees. We have since booked with Budge to guarantee a car.
If you are considering doing business with Priceline. Save yourself the heat and just pay the extra few dollars and go with a reputable company… here is my story thus far. I am approximately 41 days or 6 weeks in with NO resolution…
This is my 12th call since August 3,2021 and each time I am told something different. I had a rental car that literally broke down on me and I received a replacement vehicle that I could NOT drive bc the registration was expired. I was stopped by the police and advised that I should not continue to drive this car. I complained to Thrifty only to be told I MUST report this to Priceline for resolution.
I began contacting Priceline on August 3,2021 and have continuously been given the "runaround" Ever since. Every call has ended with" I will email…. Dept and they will FollowUp with you directly. Only that the FollowUp has NEVER happened …
I have documented my last 3 phone calls. 09/09/21 Priceline Sr Customer Relations Rep Cris - advised he will escalate to "Priceline operations team bc Thrifty was paid using Priceline voucher and he is unsure what is meant by previous representatives note "Thrifty will refund customer directly"
09/13/21 - Marco Priceline no option for Priceline to process a refund. Can only email Thrifty but Priceline canNOT process a refund. Marco was also very rushed and rude. Customer disconnected call.
Called back for 3rd time on 09/13/21 - spoke
Terri - advised she sees the notes but I need to speak with Customer Relations directly bc she is unable to see emails. Transferred me to
Ron - Sr. Agent - still waiting
I made a reservation through Priceline for a rental car (with Thrifty) starting on Dec 27th 11pm and ending on Dec 30th on 9pm. When I got to the car rental office, after waiting for over 1h, I was told there were no cars left and to come back the day after. A shame. I came back on Dec 28th and picked up the car at 9.39AM as per receipt. I claimed a refund from Priceline for the part of car rental that was not honored; they said they reached out to Thrifty and they said there is no proof there was no car left on Dec 27th. This is ridiculous as systems can prove there were no cars left. They did not provide any refund and the customer service agent was just a shame. Stay far from this awful company unless you want them to steal your money.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
