The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

I have been using Priceline.com for many years. They offered the lowest price and had many options to choose from. Great customer service and great savings from hotel staffs and booking agent from airohub.
When you sell something you don't have its called fraud. For Priceline it's standard business practice. I arrived with my family this past Saturday night at the Motel I (thought) I had booked through Priceline. I was told there was no reservation corresponding to my confirmation number. In fact, this motel had stopped accepting reservations booked through Priceline because of recurrent problems with overbooking, doublebooking, making reservation when no rooms were available. They had done this before the date I had made the original reservation. When I called Priceline I was told "yes you do have a reservation for the night." Priceline was not able to find a room for me, so I had to scramble to find one of the few remaining motel rooms in town and pay an extra $300 for a place that was definitely no palace. Priceline agreed to reimburse me for the difference if I could find a place "with a comparable number of stars." I haven't tried to get reimbursed yet but, you and I can see what their excuse will be a mile away: " the original room you booked and paid for was only 2.5 stars and the room you stayed at was 3 stars"... This is clearly not a mistake, or an isolated incident it is a fraudulent business practice which is tolerated if not dictated by the CEO (Brett Keller). I encourage everyone reading this to BOYCOTT PRICELINE!
Priceline's can not be trusted, period. They do not actually vet the places they send you with their "great deals", which aren't. When the place they send you turns out to be unprofessional or fly by night you can't get your money back because you "signed a contract". I will NEVER use this s*#t for ethics outfit again. In my estimation they just want your money any way they can get it.
WORST EVER- WAISTED HOURS OF MY TIME I CAN NOT GET BACK - DISGUSTING & HARASSING PLAY BACK ON WAIT - HORRIBLE
I spent $50 extra for a room so that I could be guaranteed two queen beds. I arrived at the hotel and they had no double queen rooms available. I was then given keys for three different rooms that ended up all being occupied or dirty. The hotel gave me free coffee the next morning as an apology and nothing more.
I contacted Priceline, because while I knew the dirty rooms were the hotel's fault, I wanted to request a partial refund for the extra money I spent for the room that I did not get, and I couldn't get anything else out of the hotel. Priceline refused repeatedly, took two months to resolve the issue, and ended up giving me a 5% off coupon in the very end. I can save 5% like... any day... forever... on priceline... or any travel website. I can save 15% if I just subscribe to their e-newsletter. What I wanted was the $50 I paid that got me nothing but a headache.
Just know that when you book something on Priceline, it's not guaranteed, and they're not going to make it right for you. They're going to pretend like they're making it right for two months until they're like, "hey, can I laugh in your face while I had you a measly 5% off of a service you no longer want because we suck at it?" To which I replied, "sure, you can do that, but I'm going to tell everyone I know that you totally suck." And they were like, "Okay, we're down!" So.
Weve been using Priceline for flights mostly. We used an Express Deal to rent a car to go to SFO. We assumed all the rental agencies will be located in SFO. There is a free AirTrain at SFO that goes to the main car rental building. Unfortunately, the deal we got was with Advantage Rent-A-Car, which is located offsite. Priceline was very helpful and understanding. We were able to cancel reservation, get a complete refund and make a new reservation with Budget.
Their website states free cancellation everywhere until you buy your trip after you purchase the story changes and on you itinerary at the bottom of the page the terms show non refundable. Totally disonist and customer service is rude not willing to help. They Interups you and dont alwow you even to finish your statement. No is the only thing they are trained to say. Checking their reviews they only have complaints no complaints. Never again
I booked two car last month from Priceline when I made it to the airport Alamo and economy were out of car. I had to spend double what I rented from them on my car from another company. Customers service don't know nothing they didn't try to accommodate me it was a mess. I will never rent from Priceline ever again.
I just booked a hotel at Priceline. Across the top of the page as I clicked on the Express Deal it had the name of the hotel I intended to book. After I clicked to purchase it, the name of another hotel popped-up that was in a completely different city. I contacted their consumer help line and told them my story and let them know I would purchase the more expensive hotel and that I had no way to even get to this hotel. The online chat person kept repeating the company line and said that there was Nothing we can do. I spend thousands of dollars a year on The Priceline website and that is the help that they gave me!
Outbound flight cancelled due to medical emergency. Okay, no rescheduling of this Priceline reserved Delta ticket from Seattle to Hawaii. I dont agree but I get it. Priceline/Delta also cancelled return ticket even though payed for and all people are available for return flight. We are not changing or cancelling anything on return flight, but we just found out that has been cancelled too. Priceline/Delta just obviates over $1500 of my tickets because I was unfortunate and had a physician corroborated medical emergency. My family lost tickets both directions. Had to repurchase new tickets while Delta resold our unused tickets - especially on return flight we needed return flight. Very bad policy and service. I felt robbed!
I booked last week a room in Myrtle beach SC. I thought ' Premier Ocean view ' meant i'd be seeing the ocean. Haha. I had a room reminded me of a seedy hotel in a 3rd world country. Could only see a wall of the other hotels and a slim view of the ocean by leaning out over the balcony and looking around the corner to see a slice of water and beach. I had to argue and threaten to contest the charges with my CC company to get another room with a 'partial view of the beachfront. Beware of priceline and Sandnsun hotel in Myr Beach S carolina. Dirty place and poor customer service.
Awful customer service! Never ever again! Awful customer service! Never ever again! Awful customer service! Never ever again!
Priceline quoted same rate as hotel quoted online; Priceline added $135 to a $318 room bill claiming this was for taxes. Protested but was assured it was the local taxes. Made the reservation and then double checked and found out that Priceline has added $100 to the taxes. Called them back and then they said it was for fees that the hotel charges them. This is completely false. In short, their rate was actually higher than the direct hotel pricing, no advantage with regards to cancellation protection, no time savings and actually cost us extra $100 for talking to them. WAY BETTER TO CONTACT THE HOTEL DIRECTLY! Priceline is a HUGE RIP OFF!
I had a hotel reservation that I desperately needed to cancel due to a family emergency. I had already paid for the room and tried to cancel with plenty of notice. Neither Priceline or the hotel (Extended Stay American - Raleigh/Cary, NC) were of any help at all. They both insisted that my reservation could not be canceled and that I would still be charged for a room that I will not be staying in. This is a TERRIBLE policy. I would not recommend either Priceline or the hotel to anybody.
Rented a car thru Priceline.com for Dublin Ireland. Agreed to price was 134 euro plus any upgrades/add-ons. Hertz/Thrifty in Dublin ended up charging me 341 euros plus add-ons. Agreed to the add-ons but disputed the base price change. Priceline originally agreed that this was an overcharge but then decided to do nothing. BUYER BE WARE - Priceline isn't honoring the agreed to price and won't stand behind their customer.
The express deals can get you stuck with a less than suitable situation. You may find yourself stuck in a smoking room with no recourse and paying for multiple rooms. Many hotels sell rooms they could not otherwise sell using the express deal. This could be extremely run down rooms or more often smoking rooms with heavy smoke saturation. You find you can't stay there but wind up paying for the room anyway because of the fine print and no refund policy on the express deal./
Priceline conducts business in a horribly dishonest manner.
Priceline advertised $20 rental car per day. I reserved a car for 5 days, and was charged $71.52 for taxes and fees (71%.)
Furthermore, they allowed you to indicate special requests. I requested a booster seat. They did not disclose the additional charge for the booster seat.
Finally, the rental car reservation is non-cancellation and non-refundable.
Afterwards, I was told to pay $13 extra per day for the booster seat.
In conclusion, I had to pay more than $47 per day for a rental car through Priceline whereas I could pay $32 directly from a rental car company.
This was my first and also my last time doing business with Priceline.
I am just appauld at Priceline.com's fraudulent online pricing. I have never written a review for any company or website before but I am so disgusted by my experience with Priceline that I feel compelled to do so.
I have been looking to book hotel for Ottawa, Canada. Priceline website showed prices on their website. I selected a hotel to book, as soon as I hit book button the price would go up $100+ per night. I tried with several different hotels on their website all had the same issue.
It is clearly fraud. If I wasn't careful in looking at the numbers they would have charged hundreds more by tricking me.
So I tried calling their customer care phoneline. System asked me for my phone number and the system would say that they cannot pull my itenary and system would hang up.
In one case where the price was honored by the website, the system kept rejecting my credit card number. I used different credit cards thinking there was something wrong with the card but it didnot stop.
I used the same credit card to book the hotel through Booking.com half an hour later and there was no problem. I think Priceline's system was rejecting the credit card because they didnot want to honor the advertised price which was lower than any other website for that same hotel. What a waste of time and energy!
Very disgusting! Never use this website!
Rented a car through Priceline to attend a funeral for three days. Returned the car to the original airport after just one day but Priceline refused to refund any difference. This is a rental car not an airline flight! I will never use Priceline or Avis again.
My wife and I work together running small business in NJ. She was to fly to San Diego, California, from New Jersey for 5-day business trip recently. One day after she booked her trip, hotel and rental car through Priceline.com I found out that I have to be in San Diego also for few days. In order to fly together my wife's itinerary had to move to one day later, same for hotel and car reservations. She call Priceline.com and got on the phone with a representative (too bad she did not write down his name), who quickly and seemingly professionally changed everything for her with a $200 extra cost. He even sent email confirmation with her new itinerary. I also saw withdrawals of funds from the bank account. When we arrived to JFK airport on the date of our flight to San Diego I got my boarding pass right away, but it turned out that my wife's booking was not there... Airline rep could see original booking and its cancellation but there was no trace of my wife's new booking. None at all! In the end we paid extra to have a last-minute new tickets for my wife and we flew to and from San Diego in different airplanes and different airlines. Priceline never offered any explanation or even apology, not to mention reimbursement... We used Priceline before and did not have problem. But as they say, it only takes one... Priceline no more for us.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
