Do not EVER book with Priceline.com we booked a round trip flight and hotel through them June 25th of this year and when we arrived at our hotel we found out from our lyft driver that it burnt down over a month ago. Priceline line reps are giving us the run around about getting us another place to stay that is comparable. Comparable? To a burnt down building? Really? Then they come back saying they found one for us 20 miles away. Still trying waiting on them to find us a place to stay currently while we stand in a parking lot across the street. Could priceline not have told us 2 months before our trip that the hotel burnt down?
It was exceptionally clear to me that when I booked a flight and a Hertz car from Priceline that I WOULD NOT BE charged for the car until I picked it up. The car was charged to my MC immediately upon booking. I will not be picking up the Hertz car for over 2 months.
I found out they charged me $25 more for a room than if I had booked it myself. The room was not what I was charged for and was dirty. After sleeping in the room, the hotel staff told me it had not been cleaned Priceline told me they could not issue a refund; I had to deal directly with the hotel. Guess what the hotel told me? They could not issue me a refund, I would have to deal with Priceline. A total rip off company!
Was charged $25 on a room compared to the actual hotel rates. I called and complained looking for the difference. To which they continually refused. Never again will I use this scam artists.
Rolled into Winston Salem to find that the hotel Priceline booked me at was overbooked. After 50 minutes on hold I finally got through, at 12:15am in the morning. After an hour they booked my across town. I took a taxi to find out Priceline made a verbal reservation, meaning they won't get paid, then called back and cancelled the reservation in an effort to push their Priceline reservation through. Someone else took the room. It was the last room in town and it was 2:30am. I was on a motorcycle in NC, rode from OH. I called them and back and at 2:30am Priceline told me to find my own room. I slept on a metal bench in front of hotel B. In the morning I took another cab back to hotel A where my motorcycle was. I was out a nights sleep and $60.00 in cab fares.
I had a ocean front room booked at Grande Shores Myrtle beach September 4-8 arrived at 130 pm checked in had parking lot view went to front desk they told my call Priceline I spoke to 4 different agents over 4 hours finally spoke to a manager he did try to help but hotel had no ocean front rooms so for another hour he tried to find me another comparable hotel and had no luck then asked me to book another hotel and send them a bill so I did we checked in at 7pm a whole day wasted. Ive used Expedia many times and have never had an issue
I booked a hotel today on Priceline, the first I've booked in a long time. I was thinking - hey - I'm traveling with my 7 year old, we've got more luggage than someone on a honeymoon, what could go wrong - Priceline claims it's a 4 star hotel in the center of town.
Don't misunderstand me, this is a nice hotel. The rooms are acceptably clean (minus a couple small rips in the carpet). The rooms are exceedingly small though - I know it's common to downsize the rooms for boutique type hotels.
That is a minor detail, more importantly was the customer service. As I pulled up in a Taxi (cost 41 francs and was 15 minutes from town center) that had 6 bags in it, and proceeded to unload and move them into the lobby - not a single staff person offered assistance, not even a smile.
I am out of the business travel loop these days but I've always considered customer service as a hallmark of a good hotel, and why I paid significantly more on Priceline than competing properties through their secret hotel selection. I didn't know what hotel, where it was until I already paid for it. This seemed ok since they listed Hilton, Marriot, etc - I don't know if they listed Novotel, but I didn't know the brand until now. (Almost a Hilton garden inn, without the garden).
To top it all off I tried to file a complaint tonight, there is no way to email them about the issue. I
So - Priceline get 1 star!
The 24hr booking price match is a joke and there website switched between Can to USD so i paid way more on my most recent booking they didn't care that i found a lower price the day after and if you have issues with a really bad hotel they can't do much to help i got 50% back on a hotel that wasn't fit for any person to stay in i should have been giving money just for having to stay there!
The website is ok for me, but the senoir LYNN is very RUDE to customers... i am not sure why she is able to get in this position... ERIKA AND MARIO are much better service than her! Please, the website manager, if you want your customers come back to you, please remove LYNN OFF her position and dont ever let her talk to customers... she doesnt have maners of a senoir. She was screaming yelling, and argueing with us while ERIKA AND MARIO tried their best with very PROFESSIONAL maners... please, take LYNN off her position
I booked through Priceline 6 months in advance. Got to San Juan, they cannot find my reservation. I gave them all of my paperwork. They called Priceline, the hotel was 3rd we booked it that day. Again, I showed hotel ALL paperwork with dates! Once finally got a room, Priceline did not show we had pre paid for 7 days! Thanks to the Hotel and NUMEROUS calls to Pruceline we finally( several hours wasted on our vacation) got it taken care of
I landed in Spokane at 12:30 a.m. went to get our rental car I reserved to find the front desk lady already left early for the night. So, we had no car. We got to our hotel and they over booked our room and canceled our reservation, we had no hotel. Spent over an hour on the phone making calls, we got a hotel and car last minute. However, Priceline did find us a new hotel and covered the price difference. They also reimbursed 25% of my first night.
Now where what would have been a excellent review for their way off resolving our hotel promblem is not turning into a horrible review.
I called the car rental company today to inquire why the agent was not there last night. They let me know they close at 12:30.
When I booked my rental through Priceline.com they had the option available for 12:30 that the company was open. So they had me book a car rental that was closed! I called Priceline for them to tell me that it was my fault for choosing 12:30. What... why have the option available if the company would be closed? I asked for them to cover the cost of the rental difference I got through Hertz. They said no because I didn't book through them. They said I should have gone back at 6 a.m. when the company opens and purchased my rental.
So let me get this straight. They wanted me to purchase a taxi to take me to my hotel. To find out they over booked my room. Hire another taxi to take me to my new hotel 20 min away. Then, hire a taxi to drive me back to the airport to pick up my rental, all while running on 3 hours of sleep!
After back and forth and going through multiple "higher ups" they said they will get back to me in 1-2 business days. Basically they told me this why my fault for booking the time and getting a car through another agency. My rental is over $150 difference than Priceline what I booked through Priceline.
I had to get the only car Hertz had left which was a fully loaded suv.
On a side note kudos to hertz.com they gave me a discount on my car rental after they heard of our ordeal.
After entering the info for the location, room and amenities that I desire, Priceline advertise that they can meet my needs for a price much lower then what is currently going for after putting in my reservation. I got stuck with a $#*! motel that did not meet my need. They apologized and said they will returned 20%, when all I want to do is cancel out. Never again... please do your research, look at the high percentage of 1 star rating and stay away from Priceline.
If I could give a negative star rating... I would. I booked a flight for 2 to Maui. Paid for first and business class. Noe that we are traveling... wr have been placed in Economy. I don't mind driving a Honda as long as I don't pay Mercedes prices for it. They claim there was no price discrepancy between booking first class and economy (except it was $1500). And will not make this right.
I used my debit card to book a hotel room. I don't have a credit card. I was going to a funeral nearby. Priceline and the hotel charged me for the room. I was charged twice but the hotel charged around $28 less than Priceline. The double charge caused me to be overdrawn. Priceline got the hotel to refund their charge. Priceline refused to reimburse the $28 difference that the hotel had charged. I thought that was the least they could do considering the bind they put me in and that would be the lowest price. Will never use Priceline again.
My son is active military and make a mistake when purchasing tickets. They refused to help his change the flight even though we were more than willing to pay the fee for doing so. They lied to us and said if they could change the flights they would but that the airline wouldn't allow it. The airline said they absolutely will change the flights for active military for a fee. I do not like being lied to! Absolutely wrong. They should show more respect to active military and their immediate family
Although the price was shown and said to be charged in AUD, I was actually charged in USD and coped the international transaction fee that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the transaction page. Even worse, their system has a glitch that double booked my reservation, so I was charged the international transaction fee twice.
Priceline refused to help with anything and keep telling me to ring Agoda in the US. I don't live in the US! They're not even third party in booking.
After years of being a loyal customer and spending 1200-2000 a month this last year, priceline decided to rip me off 35$. If the thievery wasn't enough, when I contacted customer service through both Facebook and the phone, I was basically told to sit and spin. I was made to know they would gladly lose my business over the 35$ and that it wouldn't hurt their company. Well, now that I'm spreading the word around of their deeds, perhaps some people will be protected from these con artists.
I thought I'd save a bit of money with a car rental and booked a Hertz car through them - their "discounted" prices are inaccurate and misleading. I don't think it's simply a currency exchange thing (converting the US booking dollars to Canadian), it seems deliberately misleading and classic bait and switch. I initially was concerned when the required pre-payment was almost as much as the advertised full rate and on pick up the balance of $130 US (touted on Priceline as $167 CDN) was charged at $370. I messaged with the Priceline "agent" about the apparent price discrepancy and he said that there was nothing he could do - I'd have to deal directly with Hertz. I'll be bringing this up at the desk when I return the car - Priceline are crooks and scammers. It's a ripoff. Never again.
Priceline is unreliable especially with international flights never ever use them if you want good service. You'll end up losing money and not even traveling because they never check to see if your passport is allowed to go through the airports they put on your itinerary
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
