The hotel they booked me at on Sacramento was in a very bad part of town. As others have said, there were likely prostitutes right outside. I did not feel safe. I had booked 4 nights and moved after 1. They would not give a refund or credit.
Booked loads of hotels, car hire etc but very poor customer service. Car hire ended up costing over double with insurance add on. Booked 3.5 star hotel on bidding section was given 3 star Hostel which was cheaper booking everywhere else. They refused price match and to change or cancel booking. Will never use again again as can not be trusted.
I recently booked a room at the Quality Inn Suites for what was advertised as $58 dollars for a 2 star hotel. One night of ease and no complications. Priceline does not tell you that the taxes may vary upon the booking or that with using Affirm, you were adding extra hurdles. They do not have the option of adding a second name to a reservation. They also state clearly in bold, Non refundable/non changeable...but offer travel protection that does absolutely nothing. Why offer something that is useless but I digress. Spent all morning, attempting to add a name to no avail.
Many years ago I had two or three very good experiences with Priceline. However, over the last few years Priceline has become pretty much useless. The ads say "Rental Cars from $7" Rates in major cities are nowhere near this and not, as they say, up to 40% lower. Might just as well shop the specials from the car companies.
The "random" selection of hotels is misleading. They post that you will get hotels "like" some of the name brand hotels. I didn't. Yesterday in Columbus, Ohio I got some place that was so horrible on the outside that I refused to go inside. The neighborhood was scary. The building itself has deferred maintenance and looked like a motel where homeless or drug addicts live.
When I called them about it, they wanted to reiterate their BS policies, blah, blah. Had no concern for me or my safety, even after I agreed to pay more for a different location.
Every other travel partner more than happy to work with refunds or at least moving reservations. Priceline just sucking up the money. Absolutely no help and no heart. When the rest of the country is coming together they stand alone. I hope they end up bankrupt and forced out of business. I will never book anything from this horrible company.
I rented a car through Priceline with Thrifty. I was guaranteed unlimited mileage. I was told that I had to pay 60 dollars once I picked up the car, 20 per day, because I was going to the DC area. We actually went to Arlington VA. I called Priceline and spoke with customer service. What a joke. The only think they do is delay and hope you die! They have not done anything but continue to say they are working on it. How difficult can it be. They guaranteed me unlimited mileage without any conditional charges for destinations. Pretty clear cut.
PS I am on hold for the 4th time with Customer Service as I write this. 21 days and waiting. Not going anywhere!
The sales staff are not able to do anything. I made a mistake of booking one night instead of two and they want to charge me an additional $25 to stay an extra night? That is absolute ridiculous. I've been on the phone with them for more than an hour and all they do is keep transferring me to different departments with no ability to do anything! I will never use this company again and I will make sure to inform my friends and family. I know websites like these have restrictions, but Hotwire is such a better site! They care more about their customers. Who would be against a customer who wants to book an extra night and give you their money?!
The website will only let you order six tickets at a time. I needed 7 so I had to do two orders. The price was 363.59 per ticket for the first order. Within seconds I ordered the next ticket the price showed 429.59. I had no choice but to make two orders. After speaking with customer service (who was rude) she said there was nothing they could do even though each ticket had the same offer id numbers. I had never used Priceline... my BIG mistake. I am surprised that the reviews on this sight do not correspond with the other review sights... kinda makes you wonder. Never again. Please go elsewhere...
Booked a standard size car at LAX through Name Your Own Price. Email from Priceline said the car would be a Chrysler 200 or similar (4 doors shown in picture). Subsequently received an email from Hertz, the rental car company that accepted my bid. They bumped me down to a two door car…seriously?! Spoke to Priceline. Nowhere, when booking this car, was there any indication that they would possibly rent me a two door vehicle. I was told that Priceline has no control over what car you get. I feel that the did not disclose all information, and they DO have control over that. They obviously could care less about their customers. Will never use Priceline again!
Priceline SUCKS. Deceptive business practices that don't conform to the industry standard for flexibility in making, changing or cancelling a car rental. Ridiculous foreign robots in their 'customer service' center did nothing to help--no other humans could intervene to establish good will. The price you 'bid' is not only binding--you don't get a change to accept or reject their offer, they don't show or tell you the hefty amount in fees you will pay that make their final 'offer' worse than going to other car rental search engines. Never will do business with them again! If I was allowed by this site to give ZERO stars, I would have.
I have used priceline 3 times using name your price, all were very nice and I cannot complain. So I tried it a 4th time this week, book a room 3.5 star in Tucson, I was sold a room at the Sheraton Hotel Suites at 5151 Grant. The place is a dive, the BED BUG exterminator was fumigating rooms right above the room they assigned us. Mattress was covered in blood stains, room was old and run down. Complained was moved to what was considered upgrade, again blood but this time on the Sheets! Dog hair shed all over the white duvet cover. I called they said non refundable. I will never use price line again. The hotel is pet friendly I think they gave us the DOG room because we used Priceline. Curtains were stained and filthy, bedding was not clean this place is a disaster.
Priceline customer service is mostly out of US and will leave you on hold for so long you may find yourself having aged from the experience. It's a crap shoot, odds are the agents will be politely or not politely, indifferent jerks.
Looking for flights, they had better priced deals. Tried booking with them for the deal and all we got was the runaround. We were told that their site was not up to date because of the airlines changing their minds, well then update your site to be correct. I was not impressed with the fact there is no tel number to call. The online chat person was writing scripts to tell me to try a different date instead. (My dates were not flexible.). DON'T use priceline. You won't get anywhere, just frustrated with the flying planes on the screen that go nowhere.
Let me start by saying, I rather use more money elsewhere than trying to use Priceline. Total disappointment, i don't even know where to begin. I'd never seen a customer service worse than Priceline. Even scam website has better has better customer service. Promise of a full refund on their website. After talking to an agent it was 1 day deduction, then no refund was issued, and i was told it's too late. Even though i call them 48 hours ahead. They keep pushing back so they can push you out of the refund time frame. If you don't want to write your own disappointment Stay away.
The supervisor, Lara, is incompetent. Never appropriate to hang up on a customer if they've been polite. Was being told I was getting transferred to AeroMexico, only to get the call cut. Of course, there's no callback. I'll never use Priceline again and neither should you.
Offered a one-night hotels with a cruise - turns out it was only a $25 voucher. Claimed to offer upgrades - none given. Price came down and the didn't honor the difference. Also, non responsive to online support. Booked once and would NEVER use them again for anything.
Do not use this company for any part of your trip or vacation. Cancellations might not be refundable and customer service will do nothing to assist you. I had a horrible experience and then was told "we have noted your feedback".
I used by hotel from them, but not anymore. I booked a hotel in Italy through their website which was showing the price in US $ but they charged in Euros! This cost me more than what I was quoted.
After talking to four different people in their customer service department for an hour, No one even tried to help.
Be careful about booking international travel from priceline.com!
I recently booked a car rental reservation through priceline with full intentions of not needing to make any changes; however when you are traveling with aging parents things happen. I called to ask if I could just change the dates, not cancel, no refund... Just a date! I was told that in the contract I agreed to no changes. So I am out over $500, and needing to spend additional funds to rent a car for the following weekend. Buyer beware... it is not worth the few dollars you save to risk the potential loss. I have been told sorry, nothing we can due... I call BS on that! Looking for a new car rental company.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
