Priceline Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. My friend who was visiting me, left the Tampa Airport on Silver Airways that I had booked for her through Priceline.com. After an hour of a run around, Priceline saying the Airlines was supposed to honor the ticket and the Airline said Priceline was liable not them. The Supervisor, Magadelana who was probably from another country, was rude, curt, insolent and said that they could not honor the ticket because TSA had held her up at made her miss her flight. She arrived at the airport at 4:15pm for a 6:05pm flight from Tampa to Pensacola. NEVER BOOK ANYTHING THROUGH PRICELINE.COM they are crooks, I had to spend $132.00 for her hotel and $289.00 for a new one way ticket. They are the WORST. Do not EVER book a flight through an agent go directly to the airlines.

Booked a hotel@ RowNYC through Priceline. Priceline charged $800 and was told the hotel would charge $160 fee upon arrival. Upon arrival my card was charged $200 and upon checkout received an invoice for total fees of $160.64 so im assuming I'll receive the credit of $39.36 on my card. Instead I was charged an additional $241.87. To top it off we changed rooms 3 times because there was no heat. 4 days with a non working heater! NOONE will call back or return emails! Horrible customer service for both companies!

Do NOT use!
November 14, 2019

If you are short on time, do NOT use them, it's a rip off. After my fathers funeral today I booked my brother a room, then found out he had a friend to stay with. The hotel wouldn't answer their phone to cancel, two hours later they did and gave me Priceline's number. Priceline told me I needed to give 24 hour notice (I booked the room 2 hours prior) but had to give 24 hours notice. Never use them.

GougeLine aka Priceline
November 14, 2019

I booked a flight through priceline and purchased travel insurance. When I was abruptly unable to make the flight. The booking was cancelled as a no-show meaning no refunds or accommodation. Fine that was the airline policy, however now priceline has no record of the insurance, yet I have a policy for the same flight. Hmmmm let that sink in. No will not honor the insurance but we will offer to book a new reservation at full price... SCREW YOU PRICELINE and your refusal to speak to a management.

Got taken by Priceline
November 14, 2019

Went online to book a hotel with Priceline. First attempt and second attempt advised unable to confirm (the reason I tried a second time). I then went to Expedia and booked room. Priceline later confirmed room booked. I went through Priceline customer service and advised of issue and was told it would be resolved and taken off my credit card with them knowing I booked elsewhere. Still charged even though I was advised otherwise. Tried customer service again I am now contesting the charge with my credit card company. Stay away from Priceline!

I Reserved the car through Priceline for $65 for two days which are nonrefundable, went to the airport they said they were not able to find the reservation even though I have provided all details, then they made a new reservation for $120. When I called the Priceline, they were asking me to send the receipt from car rental and said it will take 10 days for enquiry and then they will refund the money. Guess what on second day they sent an email that they were unable to refund the amount because the Priceline reservation was active on the day i was about to pick up the car... this is insane and worst customer service...

I have used Priceline very often. I had problems twice and after the most recent, I won't use them again! I had issues with the hotels I booked, had verification, and they "cant'd do anything'.

I booked a car rental with Priceline in Orlando. When i went to the pick up location there was no car avAilable. Ended up calling their customer support and they were so rude i asked to see if they can switch to different pick up location they said go ahead and rent another car with different car rental company and they will refund them the full price plus the different. Last minute booking make me pay over 700 dollars to find a car available for same day. Then Priceline paid only the refund of 170 dollars and they never pay the difference. Please stay away if you wanna loose your money ho ahead and book something with them.

Pass the buck
November 11, 2019

My review concerns the booking process. The trip it self was great from flight to rental car to hotel... BUT the booking process and customer service aspect needs tremendous improvement. There was a glitch with the Priceline server while my reservation was made and i wound up with 2 rental car reservations for thwe trip. And no one neither Sixt car rental or Priceline wanted to resolve the issue. I finally had to contact the better business website. And then priceline wanted to resolve the issue. And finally did resolve it 2 months later. Great deals but need to work on customer service. The Philipines call center was a total joke. Tell the same story to a different person every call. So frustrating. Just wish it had not taken so long,

My husband and I booked a one night stay at a reputable hotel in Keywest through Priceline at $432.00 night. At that price point we expect great accommodations. It was a 1st floor room. I woke up to 2 warm like bugs crawling on the ceiling. I jumped up and screamed for my husband to kill them before they fell on me on the bed. When we open the curtains to let some light in, to out horror, we realized that these bugs were all over the room in different areas at least 10 were located some crawling others curled up in the carpet. We alerted management. They apologized for the inconvenience and said they would refund our money if we booke directly but since we booked through Priceline, we should contact them and they'd refund our money. After multiple calls Priceline refused to refund the $432.00 and did nothing to contact the hotel on our behalf. After the hotel manager inspected the room and witnessed these bugs crawling in the carpet, the hotel processed a refund. Needless to say that this was a gross and traumatizing experience. Most importantly we learned that we should avoid Priceline and a use a booking service that will stand with their customers if there's a concern or complaint. Priceline only worries about their money and could care less about customer satisfaction. I chose not to disclose the hotel chain or post the pictures and videos because the hotel manager did the right thing and refunded our money. As for Priceline Stay away.

BAD
November 10, 2019

Booked 2 rooms with 2 queen size beds on 9/30/19 for 11/9/19. One room for 2 adults and 1 child and 1 room for 2 adults and 2 children at Comfort Suites in Nacogdoches Texas. Tried to check in at 2:30 but hotel said could not check in until 3:00 p.m. No problem.

We went to a football game and tried to check in at 8:00 p.m. and was told the only rooms available were one room with a king bed and one room with a full size bed and since we had booked through a third party (PRICELINE) the only thing they had to provide was a room that would accomidate 2 adults.

Called PRICELINE and was first told that they had to upgrade us or provide the same rooms we had originally booked with a sister hotel close to our location. After they called COMFORT SUITES they told me the same thing about only having to provide rooms for 2 adults. PRICELINE would NOT refund my money or offer a credit for future bookings.

Will NOT ever use PRICELINE or COMFORT SUITES again!

Searching For Car Rental
November 9, 2019

I was searching for a car rental, I came across Hotwire and Priceline. Hotwire was cheaper but Priceline had a price guarantee and in the past didn't require payment up front, where Hotwire did. Before booking either of them, I called Priceline customer service (which was very difficult to get beyond the automated system) and spoke with an operator. I just wanted to know how the price guarantee worked. I read to her both prices and all the details. She said I needed to book it with them first then she would check the other web site and issue a credit. She said the itinerary needs to match. I read all of the details to her, dates, location, vehicle pick up and drop off times. I told her I would book it while she was on the line. I booked it and then she said the car agency didn't match. Both sites were blind agencies and did not reveal until you made the purchase. My initial call was just to find out how the price guarantee worked. Once I had it booked it charged my credit card, it was not a charge at pick up like in the past but that was OK as long as they matched the price, they would not. They said it was not a perfect itinerary match because it was different agencies. I tried to talk to a supervisor to either match the price or refund the charge, they would do neither. I understand my responsibility in this, every screen you check must be thoroughly read, but their operator was on the phone, I just wanted information and could not get it until I followed her instructions. PRICELINE is a scam and I will never use their service again or recommend it to anyone.

Wrong booking
November 8, 2019

I got to my hotel and Priceline put me in the wrong room. I ended up having to pay additional fees upon arriving at my hotel. I called Priceline they gave me a crappy excuse stating that was the room I booked when in fact it did not accommodate my needs. I will not be using Priceline to book for anymore of my trips. Bad customer service.

Booked a hotel stay for 4 nights.

The website showed CAD funds and the price was incredible!

After we paid, we had a page pop up that said the price was in USD and rates can fluctuate.

Wound up spending over $500 instead of the quoted $300 for a room for 4 days which didn't even give us breakfast for free (a common freebie in Canada).

When we called Priceline's customer service, they were adamant that the page popped up BEFORE we hit "book" and that we agreed to their terms. Basically suggesting that we are liars.

Any of the good reviews online must have been made by USA customers or are ALL FAKE to begin with.

Other review boards all have 2-3 star ratings on this company.

Why in the world would you advertise CAD funds if you are only going to charge in USD?! Jerks.

You are completely unethical, liars, poor customer services and we hope you rot and karma bites you back REAL good.

My last horrible experience with Priceline, they didn't even have the decency to have their name anywhere on the website I was on, or even on the receipt! I went on Google to find a hotel, and thought I was making my reservation through La Quinta Hotel the entire time during the payment process, since I wanted the discount to pay ahead. It wasn't until I was at the hotel I found that I had booked through Priceline. If I would have known, I would not have made the transaction, since I had another bad experience previously only a couple of months before this one. Personally, I would stay away from using any of these booking companies. You don't get a deal anyway. Why not just call the hotel itself?

Misleading & overcharged
November 5, 2019

Priceline is so bad in all their transactions, they hide behind a neutral brand called "Reservation Counter." They over charged me. The hotel is unsavory. And when I called in for assistance, after they had the money, they went out of their way to not be helpful. I cannot tell you what to do, but it's clear to me not to do business with them.

Don't trust the site
November 3, 2019

They say you are getting a deal but go to the actual hotel site. The site does not disclose additional fee and when they don't tell you what hotel you are getting you don't know to check. Site told me I would save 37% which should have been $225 but the actuality the difference between booking with them and booking with the hotel they saved me $87. Don't bother with customer service cause they are some kind of robot that can't think or do anything about the super legal agreement you are apparently signing when you book. Not a deal, don't fall for it. Or if you do don't be surprised when your fees are actually doubled or better yet just be ignorant and believe them for your own piece of mind.
