I use Club Pogo literally everyday. It's the page I have set up to come up when I first come online. I've been using it for about 5 years or so now, and am completely addicted to it. I'm usually not much of an internet gamer, but Pogo is my go-to for the games I do like to play. They have a lot of word games and I love word games. Scrabble, Boggle, word whomp, tumble bees, and wordsearch are among some of their addicting word games. The only thing that is a "Con" for me is that there are waaaaaaaay too many card games! I'm really NOT into card games at ALL. Also, tokens are pretty much useless now, can't use them for anything except entering to win $25 gift cards or buy mini items (though even those are mostly requiring gems now, which you have to pay REAL money for). I always thought anyone who pays money for a set of clothes, furniture, accessories, a background, etc. that their character can wear on a game site which many people don't even look at the profiles anyway... has too much money and is spending it on ridiculous things. Also, the badges. You have to pay for badges! You're paying for an achievement, again which no one will see or know anyway lol. I don't know. I just think that sort of thing is ridiculous. I'm not trying to embarrass or insult anyone who does pay for mini items or badges, but it's just not my thing. Just my opinion. Besides that, I love pogo. Just don't love spending money on it lol. Even my yearly memberships are bought with my free coke rewards!

Long ago Pogo was fantastic, it's barely a shell of what it once was.

I've yet to find a game that isn't controlled or rigged in some fashion... Their slots is the most obvious. Others just freeze up if you are on a winning streak. But slots. They claim it isn't a casino game, yet it's listed under casino games. Most often while wheels are spinning, you can tell it's going to skip over any big payouts, just too obvious. If you should win free spins, it obviously switches screens, something that has worse payouts.

If you ever go to the forums to post your thoughts, you're not allowed to write/post anything negative. You can't be honest... no free speech there. One of their Knoxie moderators will have it deleted before you leave the forum. I will never believe they are volunteers, I believe they are Pogo/EA staffers on patrol.

They say they are family oriented, nothing is farther from the truth. My wife gets hit up 2 to 3 times per day to go into private chats. She does noting to get that treatment. Ya can complain to Pogo/EA sports... they basically tell you to talk to the hands, the eyes ain't reading it. So the pervs & lurkers win again. You can't block them. They keep coming through. Just think. That could be your preteen son or daughter getting hit up.

Pogo just isn't what it once was.

What an awful experience. It's hard to see for one and you can't even get through 3 numbers called before an advertisement interrupts your game.

Been a member 11 years but since they took 99% of good games off and replaced with stupid games, I've cancelled my subscription

All things must end
February 12, 2017

As a pogo player since 2002 I have decided to no longer be a member.
EA I believe has made this site what it is today. All things must end.

I stopped playing games on Pogo because they were boring and took way too long to load. There are lots of other game sites that I can go to!

I played games on Pogo for years, many of those as a club member. I let the club membership lapse a couple of years back awhile (I had no time for it for awhile), but recently decided to peek in on it again.

Seeing the dreaded EA logo, I had a feeling I would be in for disappointment. Was I ever not wrong.

First of all, I found that all my points (or whatever Pogo used to call them) were just... gone. Along with all my custom minis, and the little bits and bobs it used to be fun to do challenges and win points to collect.

From other reviews I see that some folks (likely lacking in prior experience dealing with EA) have tried reaching out to their... *hack*... *cough*... "Customer Support"... for help with these and similar issues. At least I already knew not to waste the time.

I stuck around long enough to try a few games that didn't require me to shell out $$$ for a renewed membership just to play. That's when it became painfully obvious Pogo's gone microtransaction-happy. A $72 a year (monthly) subscription just isn't enough for them. These new games are going to require "tokens" or "energy" or "sand dollars" or what-not to play, and they are clearly set up so that not long after you're hooked in, you'll find you can never "earn" enough of these resources through normal play to keep up with the growing "cost" of that next round.

Do I want to play the next level of some puzzle game now without endlessly grinding through boring stuff (if they've even made that possible) to earn enough tokens for it? Looks like I'll have to shell out extra $$ then. I mean, who hasn't got spare bucks lying around for that kind of nonsense, right?

Or I could just move on.

I avoid games (and companies) that employ this kind of business model like the plague. Anyone else who doesn't like burning money for nothing should probably do the same.

Paid Pogo member since 2008. Pogo sold to E. A. Most preferred games have changed to never ending looping and all the same format. Goal is to have you purchase power ups but the games are BORING. Many of these games are identical except for themes but they all require you to play over and over and over and when you finally win the level, you move on to the next which requires the same ridiculous repetition. The original CASH jackpot of $2,000 for members was reduced to $1,000 and now it will be eliminated completely. The cool Holiday badges now require you to play multiple games, winning a plain utility badge and if you get all of them - like 10 games for this Christmas challenge in 1 week where the games are extremely long and some are difficult - then you get the pretty badge. It's just a cheap $#*! scam now - milk them for all they're worth because they're the only game in town. After almost 12 years, I won't be renewing and that's too bad because I have spent a fortune on mini items and such via the gem packages but I'd rather do without. As it is, the mini fun is gone: No contests, no reason to purchase that stuff anymore. The current "25 days of Christmas" celebration is ridiculously cheap and there isn't even a NEW offering for each of the 25 days - so really it's just a Bait and Switch. This is the 1st year I didn't receive a birthday gift and yes, those things are or were a part of the paid membership. Buyer beware - you're better off having a variety of games using MSN gaming or even facebook but EA isn't going to treat their customer any better than they are right now and as we all know, the service will get worse. Good luck Merry Christmas.
