Trash!
January 19, 2022

I went to the location in willow grove pa. I brought 2 bags of brand new things. Mind you the things that they have in there are nasty asf. Dirty $#*! jeans, dirty sneakers that are dogged to the point of no return, nasty sweaters and nasty employees as well. I sat and waited because I came in when they opened. So it took less than ten mins. I had two pairs of sneakers that was worn about twice and both are in really good condition. A puffer coat only worn once and a Sherpa that was brand new and leopard print along with an Anne Klein bag that was brand new. The teen or whatever she was who worked there knew she wanted the coat so she acted as if she was looking through all the things and then she took the coat out and said that everything else except the coat was old. They tried to give me 6 dollars for the coat and of course I refused it. That's nothing and they think that everyone is desperate for money to the point that they'll take anything. No! So I took my coat and rolled! Don't come here! Everything they have is old and they like to keep peoples things that are actually nice and give you chump change. Watch them also with your bags because they like to tuck things under the counter and keep peoples things too. It's amazing how they say styles are old but the items in the store are nasty with spills and stains. I think people should stop patronizing this place so they can close down. Also the broads who work there have no style themselves and I see it's a high turnover there because they are thieves.

Rude little girls who knew NOTHING about fashion or style and everything in the store is old and outdated or knock-offs of nice things and there is NOTHING worth going there for and then if you take some things to sell you are insulted by the know-nothing sales girls. I had been told of their rudeness and snottiness by a 23-yr-old who took some really expensive trendy things in to sell and was treated the same way. DON'T GO THERE! You will be treated badly by rude employees who are working in a low-end resale store. I have been in others and the items were nicer and was treated the way any customer should be. AGAIN, DON'T GO TO PLATO'S CLOSET! I don't even want to give them one start but I must to submit the review.

Took in over fourteen pairs of High end shoes and boots to sell in Norman. As my state ID Has not arrived due to a backlog however I have been using my Comanche Nation ID and have never had any problems doing so until today.

I explained not having any Currently valid drivers license Although I had the old just expired one and my valid tribal ID card which I'lladd is even legally used by the state licensing facility as a valid and acceptable identification card.

The intake person in the store told me that each Plato's is individually owned and the Norman sure does not honor any tribal identification cards for any thing so I could not sell any shoes to them. Okay two pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes, Nike's Two Uggs, Clark's,, esprit going out the door.

I stated that with all of the Indian tribes in Oklahoma You would think that they would honor the tribes and she said, no, why would we. And offered to help carry my bags back to my car.

They do however take the voter registration card that has no picture at all so if hell freezes over and I ever find myself having to go here to Plato's Norman, I will take that.

Wow, another one bites the dust. I'm Comanche, Any money that goes from my hand to any establishment is therefore Comanche money. If you can'not honor my people or any natives then like they told me in the store, why should I honor you with my business.

The empty parking lot which I thought was odd when I first pulled in makes sense now.

Horrible
June 11, 2023

I went and so I have my friend's been to Plato's closet to sell items all new washed up-to-date. Went back to pick up the remaining. Clothes my bin was still on *******@5pm When I was told.back. Told me my clothes were not ready yet. Set about a 1/2 an hour to come back 4 minutes later. I get a text that they're ready. I go they gave me thirteen dollars that's right thirteen dollars. The bin had top of the line brand new some with still tags, up to date Clothes all of them were purchased in thr last year You could tell that the bin wasn't even gone threw. The clothes were folded just as I gave them earlier that day. When I looked what they sell and whats on they're racks out of date, some with stains, filthy. Shoes on are on there last leg. Besides some things that they consider top of the line which is behind the counter which I consider run of the mill. Beware and don't waste your time selling selling your clothes here.you have the blind leading the blind On what they consider is fashionable... Always in a rush the top employee there only makes $15. An hour in the rest of them make $10 an hour so rest assure. When they're. Going? Through your. Bin? To calculate your items. They have not a clue. Don't waste your time

Waste of time
October 11, 2020

Working in retail I receive a lot of new hollister and vs pink and when bringing in brand new items from back stock they claimed it was all old label or out of style when a lot of the items were still in store I just did not need them, the employees are rude, and are never dressed in name brand clothing, I understand not everyone has to dress in a certain way, but do not judge other people nwt items when you come to work in stained holey clothing yourself and be so rude. They also say they only buy stuff with date tags on the items when half the items I buy new like princess polly and fashion nova do not have date tags and when you buy clothes do you buy what you like or search for a date tag to see if you like it, its a joke, sorry but it is such a waste of time 99% of their store is donated items from target, but they will not buy michael kors, chanel, oakley or anything of value that people are looking for at a good second hand price, I feel like our store has a policy if the worker does not fit it or want it themself they wont buy it and sorry but not every one would want their style

Some of the clothing is just too overpriced for what it's actually worth. I recommend just going thrifting, you save so much more money for the prices of clothes.

Went in the Gastonia, NC store today with a trash bag full of brand name teen clothes, most of them practically brand new. Also an Old Navy coat and an Apt. 9 coat. I was told they were backed up and it would take a while. My husband and I left the store and headed straight to Sam's club. We had only been in the store approx 15 mins and I got a text from Plato's stating " sorry we cannot make an offer" Please pick up tonight by 9pm or reply with DONATE. They didn't even have time to go through the amount of clothes I brought in! When I got there and asked why? The girl at the counter said, they only take items that are current or have been on the shelf 6 mths or less. BS! If you look around in the store that's crazy. It's 2nd hand people! They are trying to make a buck. It's not even about the money with me. It's about the fact that my garbage bag that was very tightly closed and the tie was in a knot had not even been opened! They would have had to cut the ties to get in it. All they were hoping is I would say donate! That's how they get most of their stuff. What a racket, fraud at it's best! I am glad they didn't get my granddaughters clothes, I will be happy for someone to get that that will APPRECIATE them! Not some rip-off 2nd hand store looking to make a buck! I will never step foot in that store and I will be happy to tell people of my experience!
