Plugins often don't work
December 28, 2021

I purchased plugins before they were updated to the M1 version, and I had some errors right away when they updated the plugins to my system. I was happy with the support I received back then. But I noticed that the problems are coming back, and I often have issues with their plugins. The recent case is that I'm receiving errors "plugins not responding" while exporting videos, especially at the end of the export process (and the exported video contains a red screen). It's frustrating! Those plugins stop working randomly and updating them doesn't help. Of course, the remaining downloads disappear when you want to re-download the plugin. I can't rely on those plugins anymore. I barely use those plugins due to the red screens I'm receiving. I have the newest version of FCP and Mac OS so it's not a problem with my computer or software. PixelFilmStudios don't want to return the money (they have a short return policy), even tho their plugins do not work for a month so far. Go to other providers; with PixelFilmStudios is a waste of your money and time while trying to figure out why the plugins don't work.

We understand that it is upsetting that the issue has not been resolved yet, however please assured that we are trying to get a fix for this issue ASAP.

Pixel Film Studios has the best plug-ins and effects for Final Cut Pro X. I use them on almost every project and they make my content more effective no matter what video I'm making. The best part about them is their customer service. Any time I have a question they are quick to answer and are super helpful.

I paid for a plugin but they lost it.

I paid for a plugin, sent emails but they caim they cannot find any history of my purchase. I bought many plugin's from this business. Emails sent has not helped even though I tried to query why it is not in my downloads. I ask them to reset my downloads as I had to reinstall final cut pro. Before the reset my download was there, now missing in downloads and orders. The last email sent to me from Pixels was a smiley face saying sorry we cannot help. Shocking way to treat customers that spent lots of money. I will not buy again.

They do need cooperation in order to help to the best of their ability. NEVER AGAIN

I bought several plugins from Pixel Films Studio these last years and I go from disappointment to disappointment: programs complicated to use or too heavy, many bugs, final cut does not find the files from Motion Template... I recently bought "Propuppet" online... users had so many problems with this plugin that they finally created a second and "better" version... The first version doesn't work (can't activate the keys) and the second version can't be recognized by the system... Well, considering the price (USD 17.-), you shouldn't expect much... So, I threw this version in the trash and I bought the equivalent version proposed by MotionVFX and it works very well. This is the last program I buy from Pixel Films Studio.

Trouble Shooting

Went to the live chat to get a plug in I had just bought to work. They were able to get me up and running within 10 mins if that!

Can't go wrong with getting your video plug-ins from this site as well as any help you might need.

Outstanding Service

I had a very difficult issue that needed resolving with graphics not working properly. After trying the most likely resolutions, I was guided by the PixelFilmStudios rep to go further into the computer to see if the problem was at my end. Sure enough we found a disabled "Font Book". I would have never thought to look there. I am very grateful for the kind and expert guidance I received from the PixelStudio representative.

I'm a veteran 30 year film & video editor who has enjoyed using Pixel Film Studios FCP plugins for videos of all sorts with FCP projects, but due to their products being unreliable where they suddenly and unexpectedly fail to work on variety of different projects, I have decided I will no longer purchase from them. I have experienced a significantly higher failure rate from their products than any other plugin vendor. In addition to this, they have no phone support, their app is extremely flimsy and update function has never worked, their technical support is extremely thin and if they cannot apply a conventional quick fix, they will invent a technical reason so as to try to avoid blame. In my final case, they decided my external drive was blocking their plugin even though there was not 100% correlation. Their effects look nice in their promotional videos, but if the effects cannot work reliably for your clients, then their inconsistency and high failure rate will be your inconsistency and high failure rate. I suggest instead using FxFactoryPro's collection: https://fxfactory.com/info/fxfactorypro/

I upgraded my mac from Big Sur to Monterey and all my pixel effects stopped working (red screen). I contacted the support team at pixel. They requested some specific information and then offered a resolution which worked perfectly. Such a professional quality team. They had me sorted within a few minutes, very much appreciated, Mark

Great products, AMAZING support!

Purchased some plugins through PFS, have been happy with them but had a technical issue with one of the latest plugins I've purchased.

I reached out to support, which took maybe 30 seconds to connect to a real human, I explained I couldn't edit text boxes.

10 minutes later I was provided with an update file along with SUPER SIMPLE instructions to apply the file and within 1 minute the problem was fixed.

I'm speechless.

Great products, HUGE selection, fantastic prices AND fast, effective support? What more can I ask for?

Plug in doesn't even work
September 25, 2021

Running Pro Smoke 1.1 on a Brand-new MacBook pro core i9 with 32GB of ram. Anytime I try to use the plugin, fcpx just freeze with a beach ball. I tried many time, it simply won't work. The link they keep sending on "how to optimize FCPX" is completely useless to my situation. As for my specs, they blow your minimum requirements out of the water.
