When you're thinking about online photo hosting sites and think of Photobucket, stop and move along. Trust me, they suck in every way.
Taking your customer base at ransom? Come on, thats a really scummy move. Your company wont be around much longer
Think of anything that a scammer will do and this company has done it. Don't even think of doing business with em or handing them any of your money.
Long time users deleted account. Site was getting increasingly slow, charging for 3rd party hosting was the last straw.
I was directed to this site by the US Army where my son just completed boot camp to be able to see pictures. This site was INSANE with advertisements trying to download. Then, of course, the click button where you could get rid of the ads for $2.49 per month. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a website. I plan to notify the Army and actually have the army try and use the site so they see just how bad this experience is for every new family that has a son or daughter in the service looking to get photos of the experience. The government should locate the owners and press charges for gross negligence or for just being the worst site possible to share their soldiers experience in boot camp phase. This site makes the Army look very bad. PEOPLE SHOULD LOSE THIER JOBS OVER THIS. Both with the Army, with the decision maker that allowed this to happen, AND the leadership that allowed PhotoBucket to become this dysfunctional and unattractive to today's consumer. You will NEVER in my opinion, have a worst experience that the one you will have if you logon to this site!
I was asked to pay $5.00 a month or $60.00 yearly to get my photos from 2012. Photos are not there.
I ordered a 3X3 Canvas Print during one of their sales. Website timelines indicated production would be up to 5 days and shipping up to 5 days. My order including shipping was just over $200 Canadian ($150 American). Two weeks went by and it still said "In Production" so I contacted "customer service" to find out what the hold up ones. I received an answer back that it was going to ship and allow a few days for it to update on the website. 1 week goes by still "in production" so again I contact them. A week later I get an email that it has finally shipped. YAY... well another week goes by, and it the shipping website says its on its way to their depot, which happens to be in the UK (remember I live in Canada). Then, the next day it says its on its way back to the shipper. Once again I contact customer service, to find out what the hell is going one. Tamara's response "I've contacted the shipper, production and will update you when I hear back" that was a week ago. Today I finally hit my wits end. If I don't have a timeline as to when I will receive my print by Friday end of day, I will be contacting Visa, to report the transaction as fraudulent, and will be contacting consumer affairs. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SERVICE AT THIS COMPANY, and there is evidently a reason why everything is always on sale.
I've had a photobucket account for over 10 years now, it was my main space to save photos I wanted to have available with me wherever I went. At the time, the website was still growing, and the need for funds to keep the website going was understandable. There was a lot more freedom on the site, and I enjoyed using it immensely.
Now it's riddled with ads, restricted, user-unfriendly, and terribly greedy. Instead of keeping with the times and the competition, (Google, Deviantart, IMGUR, etc.) it instead paywalls the photos I want to keep, significantly reduced storage space for accounts, and even made it extremely tedious to download the photos gathered by making it impossible to download more than one photo at once. So here I am, downloading 1 photo at a time on each album, waiting on each page to ensure that each photo downloads successfully (because if you go to the next picture too quick before the website recognizes you want to download it, it will skip that photo).
The website has gone down the toilet, the morons running it aren't improving it in anyway, servers are slow if you want to download photos quickly (and I'm sure they do that on purpose so downloading it makes it more tedious and forces people to pay the premium instead because it would be "too much work"), and it's just overall bad.
People, there are better sites out there, with better support, improved tools, great service, and way more storage. Don't settle for this crap, don't pay their premium. Even if you have thousands of pictures to download one at a time, I promise you will feel so much better to be free from the chains of the corporate idiocy that is this website. People deserve better, and Photobucket says otherwise.
Easily the worst image hosting website ever. Half of the time any image you try to see from there doesn't work any more.
Photobucket has completely ruined searching forums for useful information making most forums useless.
I logged into my Photobucket about 7 months ago to recover old photos & was immediately sent to a "Pay for our Premium" screen stating I had to manage my account because it was over extended. Believing this to be a requirement to continue, I merely looked through the Premium options, but did not complete the transaction. I quickly realized it was not a requirement, then checked my account to confirm that I was signed up for premium; assured that I was still under the label "Free Account", I downloaded my old photos & went on my merry way. I SHOULD have checked my PayPal, but I use it for so many small things & subscriptions that I didn't notice the reoccurring charges until a few months had passed. Once I did, I went directly into my account to cancel the subscription, but again was shown a "Free Account" screen under the account details. Confused & angry, I emailed Photobucket about the issue & NEVER HEARD BACK (shocking/s). I then went to the PayPal to dispute, but as I am currently in the middle of a move, missed the escalation date & was charged YET AGAIN! I couldn't shut down the reoccurring charges until I contacted PayPal DIRECTLY... This company has taken $34.93 from me for a service they aren't even actually providing me! Stay away, they are scammers!
After sharing hundreds of photos free online for years, they now want me to pay hundreds of dollars to let the photos be available.
I put up with the endless pop ups for years and now they want $400 or else? GTH. I switched to Fotki and will be glad to see Photobucket die.
$400 for third party hosting... LOL. Way to completely ruin your credibility overnight. Doesn't get any worse than this. Stay away!
It would be a more pleasant experience to rub sand in my eyes than use Photobucket. Shocking system.
Photo bucket sucks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Photo sharing hijacked by $400 price. Avoid them. They changed their pricing driving people away in droves.
Hold people hostage to a $400 hosting fee for images and you will get a lot of bad reviews. The worst website to host your images - BEWARE.
Answer: Pay to keep your photos there or lose 2/3 of them, Taken away the option of bulk download which means download 1 photo at a time of 1000's of photos and do it before photobucket deletes them all because rule changes put you over their new limit. Extortion.
Answer: Because it does. They make you click around madly to get out of the "pay us money" options just to get to your library, and then they force ads... 19 of them per page... and won't allow mass downloads.
Answer: I don't recommend using the mobile site, as phones (especially Apple), adblockers don't work and still flood up your screen. My worse experience is the m@ms ads that take over the screen and reappears every time you refresh or go to another page. TV commercials is better than this.
Photobucket has a rating of 1.2 stars from 211 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Photobucket most frequently mention 3rd party, customer service and free account. Photobucket ranks 88th among Photo Sharing sites.
