My OOT son was staying w/ us due to the COVID pandemic, and needed heartworm pills for his pup. I ordered some from Pet Rx and rec'd an e-mail later that day, that we needed a Rx from his Vet. (not unreasonable). So he called his OOT Vet who e-mailed him the Rx but we were told by a service rep on PetRx that it must be hand mailed. RIDICULOUS, especially during the COVID pandemic! I am a physician and can electronically ERx medications, and yet PetCareRx insists on snail-mail for Pets Rxs? I will buy all future pet needs at my local pet store. Jennifer R, MD

Our first introduction to your pharmacy was a phone conversation with Tamara. We told her about our rescue dog Henry and his diagnosis with canine cushings disease. Henry was taken from a puppy mill at the age of 8 along with 18 other dachshunds by the state. He was placed in two different shelters for adoption. Henry was adopted once and brought back to the shelter by a family that could not meet his needs. When we met Henry, he was living at his final chance shelter and scheduled to be put to sleep the week we found him. We adopted Henry and he has been a part of our family for the last 4 years. After only a year with us he was diagnosed with canine cushings. Without his meds, he quickly becomes very ill. Our original small pet pharmacy was bought out by a big corporate machine. Needless to say, we lost our connection with anyone who really cared about our Henry and his well being. Due to a disconnect between customer service and the actual pharmacy, our Henry went without his meds for days until our local vet could expedite his script to their office. In the meantime Henry became very ill and suffered with overheating and stress. We were so happy to meet Tamara and PetCareRX. Tamara listened patiently and helped put our worries away. We knew we had found a group of caring professional people who are genuinely concerned about Henry's health and well being. Tamara walked us through the set-up process and helped us find ways to save money on a prescription that is fairly expensive industry wide. On our very first order we knew we found a gem in Tamara. She was able to problem solve a quick delivery to our home here in Maine and followed up with us on Henry's script. Tamara is absolutely a patient, caring professional who sets the standard for what customer service should be. You should give her a raise and use her calls to train your agents. Thank you Tamara. In general, the service representatives are polite and nice. The company cancelled my Pet Plus enrollment and my order at my request without an argument, except to assert they had no intention to deceive me. Hah! The representative even apologized. That is rare. However, the enrollment in the Pet Plus plan, which is the only way to get a decent discount on the outrageous prices for worm and tick/flea medications, severely lacks transparency. They do not upfront ever tell you the cost of the plan. Instead there is a marketing pitch that the average customer saves $200 above the cost of enrollment with no mention of the actual cost of enrollment. Suffice it to say, my savings did not even cover my enrollment fee so today they offered to discount my enrollment fee. I don't want to be charged for a service that didn't cost anything when I first enrolled two years ago, I don't want to be subject to an automatic enrollment without notification especially when the cost of the service changes and goes up, I don't want to be charged for something that does not appear on any of my order invoices. There are benefits to the plan but not for me. The deceptive way the website sucks you into agreeing to the plan makes its legitimacy sorely suspect. The cost is never disclosed until after you have agreed to the discounted price for medications. Evil marketing. Any plan that is worthwhile should stand up to basic scrutiny and using discounted prices to lure you blindly into a plan that does not deliver the promised savings is deceptive. I can get discounts at other pharmacies, maybe not as large but as least they are not trying to hoodwink me. All told, the price I paid elsewhere was $250 rather than $225 I would have paid to PetCareRX with the discount from the Pet Plus plan. That doesn't offset a $170 enrollment fee for my two dogs, even when I need to purchase these medications twice a year.

Just in case you may not know there is a savings guarantee where if you don't save at least the amount that you paid for your membership at the end of the year you can get a refund for the difference or a credit towards the following year. It is an annual automatic re-occurring membership but its non contractual so you can cancel at any time if you wish not to continue. The membership offers our entire site at wholesale pricing and free shipping which is not limited to only medications. You can also get your pets food, vitamins, toys, preventatives and any other accessory or item you'd need for your pet which makes the savings pretty significant. My little pup was recently diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and I needed 2 Rxs (Vetmedin and Furosemide). I searched another company's website and their Vetmedin was out of stock. My pup had only enough meds given at the vet office to last a week, so I needed these meds ASAP. Upon a quick online search I found PetCareRx and was pleased to see they had the meds in stock.
I placed the order and also joined the PetPlus program as it surely appears to offer future savings. Each representative I spoke with was very knowledgeable, professional and above all else... courteous. I also had a detailed question about the Rxs, storing temperatures, etc. Since I became a PetPlus member, they put me in touch with their "Ask a Vet" department and my questions were answered efficiently and effectively.
I believe good customer service is incredibly important and PetCare Rx representatives were all top notch. My most recent communication was with Peggie Johnson and she was outstanding! Thank you PetCareRx for offering excellent products, pricing and customer service!
**Update: Took my pup to the cardiologist today and she added 2 more Rxs to our regimen. Called PetCareRx and spoke to Aaliya and she informed me that since the new medications are available at human pharmacies that I could take the paper scripts right to my regular pharmacy and it would be billed directly through my PetPlus program. What a convenience! Once again... OUTSTANDING customer service today while speaking with Aaliya!

We wish we were able to accept electronic prescriptions from customers however Pharmacy Board Law regulations do not allow this and do require us to have the original signed copy from customers to fulfill orders if the veterinarians office is not willing to provide a verbal or faxed authorization.
