Very poor customer service.
I wanted to post my profile and I've applied.
They replied that my profile requires corrections.
I've changed profile as they said, then I sent it again.
They asked me to change again. I've changed.
After some time they replied that they won't accept my profile and I can't be posted.
This is the worst experience talking with customer service.
Poor filtering of sellers, We fell for a scammer that never delivered, and while asking for a refund, we get messages for over 6months now that "superior departments are handling your case"...
I've asked, "well, bring me in touch with these superior departments, i need to report this scammer to authorities"
No response ever since and no refund.
Strongly advice staying away
After not getting a refund from a seller who did not carry out the work i paid for and my business was offline for weeks costing me a few grand in lost sales they left me no choice but to contact paypal to get me my money back.
Within a few minutes of paypal being contacted people per hour sent me a message saying that i should not be using paypal to get my money back and it is against the terms and conditions.
Why accept paypal i am paying for a service so that my money is safe the seller was clearly not paying me back.
So they deactivated my account as soon as i complained.
After using this company for a few years i can see that this company is purely money driven with no care for the types of people they let sell on it as i see so many crooked sellers that offer poor work.
I would advise people to avoid this company.
I would not recommend these guys, I lost money trying to hire someone and that person turned out to be so incompetent. People per hour would not refund my money.
They closed my account for no reason as a freelancer and I didn't even have an email to notify me about this. And on top of that, I can't get in contact with them. Stupid website

I made a profile on what is supposed to be a freelancer website where professionals make a profile to then be found in searches those looking to hire use. They charge for every job to which you apply and the buyer gets to pick among many without interveiw or anything. They read your message, similar to a cover letter, and quote to do job. They are very short such as 2 day projects. I quoted many clients never getting work. They said I did not apply to enough. I tried again, still no work. After so long of not landing projects, they shut down my account. I contacting asking why, and the person said "You broke our terms and conditions." I asked her how. She said "I do not know but I know you did." I tried making new account with another email which every time would come back deactivated. I contacted them many times to ask why, and how to get an account. All they said is "create a new account with a different email." It never made an actual new account. After so many tries, I told them I kept making new ones and they constantly were shut down. Finally, she responded with "we do not show an account with that email. Contact us witih the email on your account." Well if I do not have an account how am I supposed to have one in the account? After one year of paying for job I applied, I asked for a refund. They would not. It is basically paying to be a candidate for a job.
Sellers do not work on this portal. You will end up losing money even though you are right. PPH refunded an amount to the buyer giving me the reason that if buyer requests for a refund then legally they have to refund them, I was deep into 6 months development and PPH made the refund. PPH is very biased and never listens to the seller. If you want to really earn and work in a professional way do not work on this portal and choose upwork.com
They removed a message I sent to a client, and then penalised me for not communicating. Do not use. They are just awful.
I think this site devalues design work. Perhaps not intentionally but it doesn't appear to have a cap on how little clients are trying to pay and what for.
Some of the 'fixed prices' work out below minimum wage if you consider software knowledge, cost of software and time it will take for a designer to do it.
Anyone with good design experience won't generally be on there
Took my money and kept it in their accounts whilst the freelancer failed to reply to any messages. Still waiting for a full refund into my account after 15 days.
After completing numerous jobs on people per hour and being paid for it and having it transferred into my Paypal account (Which confirms all details when you open an account) I can not get paid for work that I did because People Per Hour now want me to submit a Copy of My ID and Proof of address before releasing the funds? Seriously! What does where I am in the world or my proof of address have to do with people per hour, especially when the clients are happy with my work?
You guys are nothing more than a bunch of thieves!
It's utterly disgusting as you get a message that if you pay $13 dollars they will speed this up... Taking money out of freelancers mouths more like it!
You guys need to catch a wake up call. Or someone else will use your business model and better it and take your clients and freelancers
So many people want to be a writer that many of them would like to do it for free. This is why we are really often underpaid, below the minimum wage, and encouraged to bid even lower to get the contract. The time I invest is not worth the money, but still, many clients ask for tons of changes that make this job unbearable. I have no way to leave when the client doesn't respect me because only they can cancel the job and not me. And they can give bad reviews to make sure I won't get any other job just because I had enough respect for myself to work way below the minimum wage for someone who doesn't appreciate anything. I get no money unless I let them take advantage of me even more for like $2/h. Don't waste your time with them. No respect for the freelancers.
I was new to this site and was able to get my first project but suddey I got email that your account is deactivated for doing payment outside the platform. I was surprised that I didn't started any project yet and haven't received ay messaged from any buyer yet. And they saying I am doing business outside. Complete $#*! website. Stay away from this.
Don't ever let this criminal outfit have your personal information. They do not abide by UK privacy Laws and will abuse your data. Nothing you will do will stop them spamming you. Messaging them, threatening them with legal action, pressing unsubscribe on emails, nothing will stop them. Engage with this awful company at your peril.
I intended to find a contractor via People Per Hour, pre-funded my advert but, when I decided to cancel (I had already found what I needed elsewhere) they decided to keep anyway 10% of the money I had deposited in case the job had gone ahead, only refunding me 90% of the amount. I consider this a scam.
I placed an order for my website. My request was to revamp website simply, use my existing Contact Us form, and use the same fields etc, this was agreed and accepted by freelancer for GBP 45.00 to which I also agreed.
Initially was developed with few errors, which I asked the freelancer to fix it. But the Contact Us form was playing up, again I asked him to fixed, which was eventually fixed it. Then I got invoice for GBP 55.00, even though I had not agreed to this price, but I still paid it.
As soon as I paid the invoice, the website start playing up, images were scattered on the website, and the Contact US form was not working.
When I complained the freelancer fixed the images, but till today the Contact Us page is not working, now the a representative from PeoplePerHour is asking me to work with freelancer, and the freelancer is NOT DOING ANYTHING to fix the problem.
However he is accusing my hosting provider that their servers are not working. But I proved that the servers are working fine, I used thier website tool to create a simple Contact US page form. Including Newspaper Subscription, and all are working 101%.
And now the freelancer has gone quiet and not doing anything to fix it!
Please DO NOT USE PEOPLE PER HOUR, WISH I HAD READ COMMENTS BEFORE I PLACED AN ORDER. BECAUSE THIER RATING IS APPALLING.

The seller is supposed to provide a Guest post on BeforeItsNews.com. He has provided a below fake link that takes me to homepage. There is absolutely no delivery from the seller. I have communicated with PPH but they have rejected my claim and PPH has blocked my account just because I raised this with PayPal.
Too bad experience high charges i buy an hourly last week and pay 10 gbp extra for buyer fee why i pay buyer fee when a hourly charge me instead?
Having been a Buyer on this site and worked as a seller, I have to say that preference is shown to Buyers. High rates charged for work completed, advertising add ons which seem overly expensive, no prior vetting of any freelancers, no access to funds paid when refunded (you are given a credit instead of an actual refund)
Commission fees are in excess of 20% for sellers, poor customer service, charges to lodge a dispute, most processes including refunds being automated and often carried out in error with no recourse to issues being remedied...
Would not recommend.

Answer: Nobody wants to talk on the phone. Everything is by email with a 2 to 3 day response delay depending on your Geo location.

Answer: Because there are lots of people who say they can do stuff, but actually can't, and when they fail, you still pay.
Answer: Definitely call your credit card company and dispute the charge.
