They are very secure. I was scammed on a sale on ebay, user payed by paypal, but later claimed the money back once the packet was there.
The claim was filed, and i never had a problem.

Paypal does not protect you from scammers They are no help even when you open a dispute. You still get scammed as they take no notice of emails proof of a scam or complaints.

What a SCAM their "Buyer Protection" is.

PayPal is USELESS, WORTHLESS, and UNTRUSTWORTHY
PayPal is USELESS, and allows sellers on its platform to commit FRAUD, by refusing to enforce both the seller's return policies and PayPal's own "Buyer Protection" policies. PayPal is a JOKE and is complicit in seller's FRAUDULENT SCHEMES!

I filed claim number PP-R-MZB-*******. The seller had a 30 day return policy. I emailed the seller, who provided a Canad Post return label, and the items were returned after only 5 days, with verification of a signature by the seller. Now the seller is refusing to refund my money after they got their product back, and PayPal seems quite ok with that.

I'm deleting my PayPal account and calling VISA to re-issue any cards that were associated with my Paypal account as I CANNOT TRUST PayPal to be an Honest Broker.

I suggest you DELETE your PayPal account and put that WORTHLESS company out of business!

I lost my money

I use PayPal for over 10 years and I always recommended
And they always refund ed me but on small purchases
But recently I made a purchase on Ebay for 646 dollar using a PayPal transaction
Accordingly to Ebay history the seller didn't have the item I paid for it so ebay placed my item as an available and they remove the seller the I tried to contact the seller I couldn't because he had already been removed then I tried to filed a refund from paypal they came up with some sort of excuses then I tried to get my money back from ebay they also refused to refund my money so I lost my 646 dollar
And the hardest part of dealing with eBay or paypal is that they don't have employees and they are using some kind of robotic machines.
So sometimes I thing that it was probably a set up scheme by Ebay and PayPal
And I definitely never going to use PayPal again.

Unfair chargeback
October 9, 2023

I want to warn all potential sellers against using Paypal. I sold several items using the website - over 130EUR. Paypal, of course, charged a commission of over EUR 6 for this.
I sent the goods to the buyer by registered mail in two parcels.
After a few days, the buyer reported that he had not received the goods at his banking institution. Paypal blocked my payment.
Then on the dispute page, I entered the required tracking numbers. After a few days, Paypal wrote that the money had been returned to the buyer, and additionally charged me a chargeback commission of EUR 14, Paypal say that they will try to get the money back if possible, and it may take up to 75 days! At the moment I have neither goods nor money. Paypal charged a commission on the payment received and a chargeback fee.
PEOPLE, DO NOT USE PAYPAL. YOU WILL LOSE A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS.

If using paypal to order, they do not help in getting a refund if item is not received. I started using paypal so I wouldn't worry as much about scams.

Are they part of a scam?

I bought an item from a UK company. The item failed after a few days and they insisted that I send this weighty item to Germany, at my own expense, for review. I had paid by PayPal and opened a dispute, later a claim. Despite the clear problem, PayPal changed the dispute to say that the item received was not as specified. I never said that, PayPal did. Then PayPal said that I had modified the item and I was therefore not entitled to a refund. Where they got that from, I don't know, but certainly not me. They closed the dispute and I was unable to answer this false accusation.
So I opened a second dispute. Again PayPal changed the nature of the dispute, saying that my complaint was because I had never authorised this purchase. I never said this and once again, PayPal closed the claim so I am completely unable to contact PayPal to find out why the nature of the dispute was changed, by them, to something that was untrue and was never said by me.
I have now checked various review sites and aas a result closede my PayPal account. It seems something pretty horrible is going on with them.

A good idea which sadly with time has been seriously denigrated. I am not going to complain about the fact that you pay ebay fees and then they state that you must use paypal in order to "extort" further fees, neither am I going to worry about the restrictions etc which they place on your account.

My main concern is their latest set of terms and conditions of service, which led to me cancelling my account. They state that your details will be passed to a multitude of credit referencing agencies (why - I am not borrowing money from them, I am actually paying money into them), but more importantly that they have the right to pass your details onto 3rd party advertising agencies (with the right to demurral).

Screw that - the web is invasive enough without paying paypal to pass my personal details onto random web enitities.

Seriously guys - if you are not selling on Ebay you don't need a paypal account - just use the guest option and don't get roped into their "3rd party advertisers" BS.

So I had money sent to me for an emergency my bills was due so my mom sent me money and we used PayPal because it was a urgently matter PayPal put my money on hold for 24 hours and it wasn't the best outcome for my bills not being paid thanks to PayPal it was a reason we used PayPal to get my funds immediately but not with PayPal my 1st and final time using their app they are trash

I am totally disgusted by the services from PayPal. I was paid my salary on the 1st of June because I am working with a US company and I am based in the UK. However, they refuse to release my money. There have never been any fraudulent activity on my account. The money was put on hold without them giving me a reason why. When I contacted them they mentioned that my company had to confirm the payment. My company did - so the money is now in my Paypal account. I then try to withdraw the money - and then I get an alert that limitations have been put on my account and I can't withdraw the money. I then contact them and their final answer is - amongst some other BS, they will do a final review and the limitations will be taken off my account in 3-5 business working days! So in short - I was paid on the 1st of June but I won't receive MY money (because of PayPal), an amount in the excess of £4K, until the 11th of June! What nonsense is this and how has this company not been shut down for these appalling way of doing things?

Usbestdeals is stealing many $$ and has a 87% Bad Reviews. But... PayPal allows them to do this to the public even though they know that they take orders and DO NOT DELIVER ANYTHING. COMPLETE AND UTTER THEIVES is ok with PAYPAL. I have spent hours on phone with my bank and paypal trying to get my money back. No invoice from bestdeals, no track #, no reply to emails, no reply to voice mails. No Nothing for my $75.00

We have raised funds for our charity on FB which only pays through PayPal. However, PayPal for some reason has put a limitation on our account and so we cannot get the donations. PayPal has asked us to upload a bank statement and a government-issued tax exemption document. We have done that. More than once - and yet, nothing... We have uploaded a letter from HMRC and our bank statements. Every time we call, we talk to a different person, we need to explain the whole situation again and again. They all promise: upload these documents, this time it will work... It never does. Last email received - and please, read carefully! -: "We've received your government-issued tax exemption document, but we also need a bank statement. Please upload a bank statement that shows the charity name. We've received your company house registration number, but we also need you to upload a government-issued tax exemption document for your charity." Shame I cannot upload a screenshot. In the same message they both acknowledge to have received the government-issued tax exemption document and they ask us to send them a government-issued tax exemption letter. Is this a joke? And this has been going on for months. We will raise an official complaint with the Financial Ombudsman.

2nd time in month account locked poor custmer servoce. An all they got to say is waite 72 houers after being on phone a houer. Got to talk to a computer for 5 min just to talk to a real persen. Meanwile all I can tell ppl is I can't pay them even thow I have the $ had account for years no problem an now my account has issues

I sell on eBay

Money is sent to pay pal
I enter my tracking info on packages
Anything to make it run smoothly but not quite

I received a $105.00 payment 4/25

I still don't have it I called and got it off hold which is what happens to funds once eBay is payed it's sent to pay pal and is put on hold eventually beinv released to show up available on your account summary in pay pal

To have it sent to the bank or a card it takes an additional 72 hours to do that

So I sold item 4/25 was paid 4/25

Had $105 taken off hold yesterday and sent it to my card but was given the up to 72 hourhours

Buyers Beware

Paypal no longer supports the buyer, I ordered a quilt from TEXAS, I received something you can loosely describe as a quilt, not even close to what I ordered. The item is cheap, not homemade, not the materials described in the advertisement. I looked for reviews on that company and they have scammed many, many folks. Problem comes when I ask to return it they want me to spend my own money to ship it to CHINA. I knew without a doubt Paypal would have my back, boy was I wrong. Weeks into this fiasco Paypal sends me this canned response "Send the item back to (China) this address and you will receive your refund". So I tried to get anyone to listen to me from Paypal, nope, spend $70 of my money to get the $99.90 refund. Paypal is no longer the company it once was. So sad, I used to love Paypal, felt safe, that is no longer true.
PS: I just searched the address I bought the item and it's not even AZCozy's address, it belongs to another business but they have gotten many calls about AZCozy.

Used to be okay, not anymore

Orderef 50 pounds chlorine tablets from Michael Bailey at USAonsale. Seller wouldn't respond to email. Never did receive a tracking number; when I filed a dispute PayPal comes up with tracking number and said item was delivered and closed my case. Number one, it was delivered to an address other than mine! Number two, the package that was shipped and delivered weighed less than 1 lb! How could 50 lb of chlorine weigh less than 1 lb as noted by the US Post Office?!?!
Yet PayPal accepted this as proof that I got the merchandise, even though the post office says that item did not go to my address and did not weigh anywhere near 50 lb!
I've used PayPal for 20 years and used to recommend it to everybody because like I told them, it's better to have your credit card information in one spot than spread around with a hundred different retailers on the internet. Of course this was before Google Pay so take my advice ditch PayPal and start using Google pay like I am! And stay away from USAOnSale! These guys aren't just scammers or crooks, they're wire frauds!

100% buyer protection. Bull $#*!
I have 7 cases with them all being closed by them my refund by them. Never receive any communication from them. I call them, they said they sent emails never got them. Ask for them to be saints again cannot do was on the phone with them for 40 minutes. I know such a short time, been served fast last time all was on the phone with them was 2 hours. I am escalating its I am going to the ACCC with my case against them. And they have threatened legal action against me stay away from PayPal they threaten legal aid should against you when you are in the right. They do not protect you, they only care about themselves. I would love to take a class action against them. I am hoping the. ACCC will help me with them.

When I was on the phone to them. They told me I had to call in and escalate the claim by email and which I never got from them. I ask them to resend it, and reopen the case cannot do. If you want our customers in customer service you resend the email and reopen the claim that no we can't do that more light we do not want to do that
It is your bad luck if you don't get the email
