I have used paypal for years, as once it was the single service that offered the most versatility and reach, synergizing with the most platforms.
My usage has dropped off in recent years though as competitors emerged who better worked with services I used, or who I found more convenient, or had innovated more.
The straw that has finally broken this camel's back is the interminable delays, holds, waits and the like, which are utterly are ridiculous. Yet again I've attempted to transfer my money and been told that it would be held for 72hrs while a "security review" was conducted - there's no rhyme or reason to these reviews that happen constantly, and it doesn't seem Paypal's customer service team has any training or information on why this keeps happening, or how to stop it. They offer nothing but buzz words while constantly trying to blame my bank. My bank confirms they have no say in it, these reviews don't happen on every transfer I attempt to make, and other wallet apps I use don't have this problem.
In this day and age these practices are absurd. If I can stick money in an evelope and have it arrive on the other side of the country faster then I am able to extract money from Paypal's clutches then the service simply isn't competitive.
If you value having real control of your money, and knowing you'll be able to access it in a timely manner, skip Paypal. There are better services out there these days that do as much as PayPal, without the glacial pace, lack of transparency, and terrible customer service.
I got scammed by a seller than was using paypal and they gave him 20 days to respond to my dispute-bottom line they did nothing, basically by do nothing they endorse theft of the users money. Second problem I sold an item for near $400 and the money is sitting there due to "security" who knows what? The refused to link the pay to my bank-too many accounts meaning 1?. I tried my wife`s bank not recognized-each institution has unique routing and account numbers. So I said send me a check at a cost of $1.50 and it goes in a loop. Tried to call Customer Complaints at *******161 from my written complaint and after 30 minutes of an automated recording they said write a letter to customer service which I did previously and got this circle of refusals. So far they have had my money for 10 days and refuse to send the funds in any way to me. Save yourself from the grief I am going through and stay away from the crooks. I donot know how the have a license. Next stop BBB- rating and maybe yet one more complaint will take them to a C rating.

I bought a product for 55 euros and pay for it using PayPal. I waited 6 days and the parcel was not still delivered so I called the seller and asked if I can cancel it. She told me that I can and that they will reimburse me. So I canceled it and bought the product somewhere else. Long story short, they never reimbursed me and the product was never delivered! I opened a litigation on PayPal and this is their response:
"Your seller has provided shipment tracking information in response to your claim. We used the shipping company's online tracking service and found that it confirms delivery of the merchandise. As a result, this case has been closed. We're happy we were able to help you resolve this issue."
I looked it up myself and they were right! They have delivered the merchandise! Except not to me! To someone else! But hey, all that matters is that they have delivered it, who cares if it was me or someone else!
I'm not going to waste more time with PayPal if they do not know how to use an online tracking service but it was my duty to give heads up to people out there

Fashion Nova declined the Paypal payment as they couldn't verify the billing address. The transaction went into authorized status on my pay pal.
It is now 12 days.
I had been promised refund within 7 days.
Fashion Nova & PayPal keep shifting the blame on each other. Each saying the other is holding the funds.
I used another method to pay for the goods yet i am now short of the monies i was debited by paypal with no help from Pay pal or Fashion Nova. I have contacted both on numerous occasions.
Fashion Nova dont even have customer care. The 1800 number they have is automated& refers you to help corner. At the help corner you email & its a robot replying the messages. One keeps getting same scripted answers over & over again shifting the blame to paypal whereas on paypals side they have incompetent agents that chat & say the same thing over & over.
When one uses a bank card to make payments& has a problem with the merchant. The bank is always willing to assist, why not paypal?
Be careful while transacting on paypal. Expect no help from them.

I was charged a fee for GrubHub that I didn't make. PayPal resolution said it is not an unauthorized charge. NO REFUND! I don't even have a GrubHub account!
Had sought help from Paypal regarding goods ordered however, when it arrived, it does not. Match at all what I have ordered. Spught hep from Patpal with my case with Strong Current Enterprises Ltd. Befored the 160 days period and Paypal instructed me to return the items which I did, but, nil action done by Paypal thereafter. I have not been refunded at all by the seller which I asked PayPal to help me with it because I transferred to PayPal to deal with this seller. I was told by Paypal earlier I am entitled to a refund and Paypal will deal with it but this didnot happen.
I want the Manager or even the Director of Paypal to investigate my case because PayPal as per previous conversation, PayPal will refund me of my money but I felt lied twice, first by the seller and Paypal. Where is the customer protection PayPal is talking about?
Company called sposamore cheated me of 511 Euro.
The company markets its self as an Italian tailor. In addition, when asked by email they reply their products are tailored in Italy NOT CHINA.
After checking the many positive reviews on trust pilot and contacting the web shop, I placed an order.
My Item came from China not Italy and I refused to accept the DHL parcel, the parcel was back sent to china.
At sposamore website, it states, 100% money back guaranteed when paying with Paypal, and the customer is protected and refunded which is opposite to Paypal protection terms and conditions 3.2 Exceptions stated. Paypal protection will never apply, if the order is marked as custom in any way "all Sposamore orders will be marked custom as default as the claim to be tailoring company.
This contradiction make this a loophole that customer will be subject to and will lose as I did.
Paypal is informed and full documentations of this case were submitted, but paypal is not willing to do a thing and will continue allowing people to fall in to this loophole and profit on this unfortunate fraud and deliberate. It seems making money surpasses anything else.
Please be on this lockout to avoid this kind loophole and fake and fabricated reviews.

Avoid! My business was setup with Paypal. The experience was horrific. On one occasion, a customer purchased a product, received what they had requested, but then initiated a chargeback through their bank. We sent Paypal all the evidence that this was a fraudulent attempt on the customer's part. Paypal just accepted the chargeback without fighting for us. More recently, a customer asked for a refund. We processed it. For reasons that were never explained, Paypal sent the customer the refund, but didn't withdraw the funds from our bank account. Instead, Paypal put us into a negative balance, and subsequently sent us to collections. However, they never sent us any notification that we had a negative balance. They never sent us any notification that we were in collections. The collections agency itself, which is run by Paypal, never even reached out to us. Paypal did, however, constantly send us spam emails offering loans and marketing services. We only discovered we were in collections after being unable to log in. At that point we had stopped using Paypal so weren't logging in regularly. When we called Paypal to figure out why they hadn't just deducted the funds from our bank account, they had no answer and no apology. They just directed us to their own internal collections agency. We've always been in good standing with every one of our other payment processors, have had no problems with these other payment processors, and we run a successful business. At the end of the day, Paypal just cost us money and time with their incompetence. Not worth it.
Whenever I need them to back me up they are rarely on my side and able to help me. Also it is really hard to properly upload anything to their website. I think I I'm going to stop using them
Someone set up a PayPal account in my husband's name. We received a tax deficiency notice from the IRS for over $31,000 in income that isn't my husbands income. IRS thinks we owe over 13K in taxes and penalties. Working with PayPal to resolve this has been a NIGHTMARE. They refuse to call us. I have to spend virtually the entire day "chatting" with a customer service agent, a different one every few hours. I have repeated what is going on ad nauseum. Had to send the IRS letter twice, to two different internal paypal email addresses. It has been four days and their tax fraud department still hasn't contacted us, still the regular customer service. They have documented that this fraudulent account has a different bank and address than ours, that is as far as things have gone. I have repeatedly stressed we have a very limited time to respond to the IRS and they refuse to send anything in writing, call us, etc. So I have resorted to screen shots of a very long message string. For something of this magnitude their help has been pathetic thus far. Save yourself a whole lot of pain and deactivate your PayPal account and work with your bank, credit card company, etc. to address any fraud you might face or identity theft. This is going to sound crazy, but working with the IRS has been much, much easier and way more productive and helpful than working with PayPal. As soon as this is resolved, we are both deactivating our PayPal accounts. Never again.

I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
