I HAVE USED PAYPAL SINCE 2000 AND SOMEONE MADE (6) UNAUTHORIZED PURCHASES AT A RESTURANT FOR $150. I CALLED PAYPAL 8 TIMES AND THEY GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND. (FIRST TIME WAS WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF THE NOTIFICATION ON MY PHONE). EVERY TIME, I CALL THEY TELL ME THEY DON'T SEE AN OPEN INVESTIGATION FOR UNAUTHORIZED USE. I CAN BARELY HEAR THEM DUE TO KIDS YELLING IN THE BACK GROUND. THEY ASK, IF I MADE THE CHARGES. I WOULD NOT HAD CALLED 8 TIMES AND WASTED 2 HOURS OF MY LIFE IF I MADE THE CHARGES. I'LL BE USING VENMO FROM NOW ON.
SO ON THE PHONE WITH A MANAGER AND HE SAID WE CAN TAKE YOUR COMPLAINT AND FORWARD IT TO OUR SECURITY DEPARTMENT BUT THEY WILL PROBABLY DENY IT. I TOLD HIM EVERY COMPUTER HAS AN IP ADDRESS AND THEY CAN LOOK IT UP AND SEE THAT IT WAS NOT ME THAT MADE THE CHARGES. HIS REPLY, "WE CAN NOT DISCUSS OUR INVESTIGATION POLICIES". SO YOUR PROBABLY SCREWED IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU AND YOU WILL SPEND 56 MINUTES ON THE PHONE. I'LL UPDATE IF THEY FIX THE ISSUE AND REFUND MY MONEY.

I received money from a customer for services rendered as a one time courtesy to my customer. Typically I would only accept check or credit card directly to my business bank account. Not only was I charged over $17 for the service, they are holding the money for a variety of ridiculous reasons. It was sent to me, it is none of their business what it is for. It is not up to them to determine my selling status or anything else to release the funds. No options for customer service other than a chat function that isn't even a live human just a bot that takes you to different places you have already checked. As soon as I get my money I will be deleting my account and their app. Too many better options out there than this
Apparently when the customer deliberately ask for the wrong thing and file a complaint for the product to be not as describe, paypal still sides with them, this company has an IQ of a tapeworm.
They approve unauthorized transactions and then take your money or put it on hold. They took my money 3 times and refused to give it back after I called the place that the purchase came from myself they even sent a email and pay pal said there was nothing they could do.
As a merchant, Paypal have hold our funds for 180 days and promise to return after 22 February 2022. After 27 February 2022, there is still no update on the release of funds. I will NOT recommend as they are not merchant friendly. Paypal required holding funds for reserve with high transaction and dispute costs. I would avoid at all costs. Their actions will disrupt your cash flows and opportunity costs.

I opened an account and my account access was immediately limited. I cannot use the account nor can I close it. They say, and I quote, "we noticed that you've been using your PayPal account in a questionable manner". I printed out my account statement because there is no activity on my account whatsoever. They are insane! And they are asking for my bank statements and stuff in order to remove the limitations. I told them I will not give them that and to just close the account. They refused. I bought a car battery at Autozone, returned the core and received a Paypal approved receipt for $23.32. That normally goes right back into your bank account, right? Not at Paypal. I bought a skirt and top on Etsy account and the payment went through and I received the outfits but two months later the seller from Etsy contacted me that PayPal company sent her a message saying for her to contact me because something went working. The seller got mad at me and I tried to resolve this in my PayPal account and it the system made it really difficult for me to resolve my problem and it accepted my identity it told me that it caught my face in camera and my id verification went through and than it denied it after saying it got accepted. Than I contacted the message chat service and when I addressed the conflict they said repeat it once again like ten or more times I even took Snapchat. The third step I did is go to all my cards information and tried to delete the cards I disactivated and than the message came out that I've cards couldn't be deleted like several times for each card. The fourth step I took is calling the PayPal customer service phone number and I asked the lady politely what was her name and she told me Susan. I told her I wanted to delete my older cards that I don't utilize no more and she had a really mean attitude but she felt forced to assist me we spended twenty minutes and she didn't resolve anything after being mean. Most of the times I'm pretty occupied with work and school so this was a waste of precious time I needed to do more salient things like homework.
PayPal allows company to rip you off and then tell you that you have fraudulent acts. Never said we will return your money. I ordered a scanner and received a boop or ring.

PayPal used to be a good company. I used to feel safe when I made purchases with PayPal because PayPal used to back thier consumers and make things right. That all ended with Covid and PayPal customer service was pretty much nonexistent. There was absolutely no way to reach PayPal during the covid lockdowns of 2020. During that time, I purchased 2 pairs of boots from an online retailer from China. The retailer completely ripped me off and scammed me by sending me 2 completely hideously wrong pairs of boots and PayPal sided with the retailer and I was out $75 and PayPal could not be reached. I have never been able to trust PayPal since.
I highly advise all of you to not use PAYPAL, they have stolen around 2,000 USD from me from my legitimate business, they say suspicious activity and steal all your funds, PAYPAL is disgusting and do not use this terrible service.
NEW: What a HORRIBLE Company. I have deleted my account so many times that I've lost count. But sometimes it's the only option. TODAY, like many times in the past, I go to buy something but my CC doesn't show in the pop-up! I worked a 1/2 hour before. The purchases show at my CC Company. But yet when I try to buy something else, it's broken. This happens way too often. So now I'm sitting on the phone with support for over an hour while trying to see if AI understands me. Nope. Just crappy music, a dumb BOT and wasted time. The item I wanted was the LAST ONE too. Thanks a LOT PayPal!
OLD REVIEW: HORRIBLE! I try to use them to send money. I use my Bank with a Credit Card Back-up. Try to send some money to grand daughters in college on holidays and for their Birthday. NEVER has it been a smooth process even though I have been with them for YEARS! At the completion of the process you get a message "The money will be sent right away". FALSE! 14 hours later and it is NOT in their email. It is NOT in their JUNK folder. THEY LIE! There has to be something better than PayPal. Well, VENMOO isn't it. Because they are OWNED BY PAYPAL! Both failed. 17 hours wasted...
Having charged a large sum I had 6 months to pay off. I was late by one month due to illness. I went to pay balance and was charged $1,000 in interest. I was told the promotion expired one month prior. No notice, no accrued interest on any statement. Was told had I paid a month before, there would have been no interest. Awful customer service! Will file a claim and never use them again.
I'm not one to leave bad reviews. I rather share a good review unfortunately I have nothing good to say about my experience with customer service. I called to dispute a dispute and was transferred constantly for over thirty minutes only to be told that I had to call a different number. When I asked to speak to a manager the manager REFUSED to speak to me. I told the csr that I would wait until a management member spoke to me and was put on hold several times only to be promised a call back that never came. I will NEVER do business again with paypal nor will I allow my family to either. I will persuade my friends to stay away and if you are reading this, use a different company.

I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
