I have never used import/export data before panjiva. The spreadsheets and data are easy to follow and understand. Kristin was a delight and willing to answer any questions or confusions with a positive attitude! Their pricing is competitive for the information that you get access to. The company is willing to train you on how to use the data to fit your companies needs. It's an awesome tool to help develop the company further and give them a competitive advantage with data thats up to date.

Panjiva Rocks

I've been using the free version of Panjiva for over a year, I finally got my company onboard with a small trail version. Panjiva beats Datamyne and Import Genius with data search for countries all over the world. It makes it easy to find new clients and suppliers. I also use it to vet potential customers or suppliers. Being in partnership with DNB and other Credit Services is a plus! I recommend Panjiva to companies that have a vision for growth and expansion overseas. This is the tool that will give you peace of mind.

After subscribing to Panjiva yesterday -- "Enhanced" Subscription -- I had a one-on-one telephone/shared screen training today with Panjiva. Rep gave me an informative overview of all of the major search options and data sets and then walked me through a sample search within each of the data sets. After that he taught me how to do the searches in which I was most interested. This part of the training was most helpful. The teaching went fast, the content was organized and well presented, and I walked away functional in less than 30 minutes.

The Panjiva customer service contacted me via phone a few minutes after my request and helped me to find the right plan and offer for my project. The guys were responsive, took their time to answer all questions and explain the database in a tutorial the same day. Payment was done in a secure and safe way.

User interface can definitely use some improvement. In addition, if you view the same profile (saved or not) over two different dates, they will hit your Profile View credit. We were doing some research one month and realized how quickly we used up the credit.

Sorry, but I don't really think it's worth the money.

Small Company's View
October 25, 2017

We are a small company that specializes in a limited number of chemicals.
Once we have the data provided by Panjiva, which is a year's worth, we don't need to keep close tabs on things for another several months.

Plan to rejoin around the March 2018 timeframe.

This should actually be 0 star.
This company is extremely unethical and place people's lives in jeopardy.
They literally collect shipping data from US customs and publish this data on their site. With names and addresses of the shipper. They apparently under a questionable loophole under the freedom of information act. If you've ever shipped anything via sea to the US and you're a victim of ID fraud, then this company should be held responsible.
If you fall in this category, just search for your name and city on Google and you'll see your shipment details, with your address on this site.
Completely callous and unethical company.

This company publishes my full name and shipment details online without my permission. When people search for my name their silly listing comes up, very annoyed. Yes US customs is the worst offender by making my personal information available to those who seek it, this is them made much worse by Panjiva publicizing it. They should cease this bad practice. An individuals private shipment and their details are nobody's business but that person and the shipment company. The government should pass a law to control the information US customs and Panjiva can access.

First of all, I asked for a free demo to see whether the system really works out. They replied next day with a long e-mail, asking same information that I already put on the system. Anyway, I replied this mail in details and waited for a call for the demo or at least another mail. After 3 days I still didn't get any call or mail. Then I decided to write them again. Explained my request and asked couple simple questions, which could be answered only in 2 mins. However, I didn't get any response for that mail either.
Honestly, I was a potential customer who was ready to register on the system but not anymore. If they don't even have a time to reply a simple e-mail then they don't deserve my money. One of the worst customer service I have ever seen!..

Panjiva publishes import/export data without a company's permission. Panjiva also refuses to take down any company listed --- which is listed without the company's authorization -- from their web site. Their staff is also very rude -- if you call them to request to remove your company from their database --- something that their competitors do --- they actually hang up the phone on your face without hesitation. Hope they go out of business soon.

Research on overseas suppliers - Having previously suffered through the challenges of sourcing contract manufacturing in China, I've been looking for a tool like Panjiva to help me research overseas suppliers.

The service certifies companies based on past performance along criteria such as customer loyalty, experience, management quality, and environmental responsibility. Panjiva hasn't been around very long (2006) but they have been working with Elie Tahari, a well-run high-end fashion company, which gives me some faith in the quality of their data. Also, the company was founded by a solid team from Harvard and MIT. If you're looking for a supplier in the apparel space, it's probably worth the fee.

Don't get involved with Panjiva. After we cancelled our subscription they relentlessly bombarded us with renewal offers. And eventually, if you don't renew, they will agressively promote your own shipping documents over the Internet to attract new subscribers. A very vindictive company. Panjiva doesn't seem to value a customer relationship or the possibility of your repeat business with them in the future. Instead they burn bridges. Also, I am not convinced that their services are any better than doing your own search queries. Panjiva touts all kinds of technology, bells and whistles for data search, but for our company it did not reveal anything new.

I think Panjiva's own rating is very flawed, just because a company has decline in total weight shipment to the US their ratings dropped by almost half. This puts the company in a negative spotlight which is not a real representation of the reputation of the company. I work with a very reputable company for over 30 years. Their rating was at 96 last year, this year they dropped to 57. This is very misleading. The manufacturer I work with has been growing at a constant rate of 10-20% in the past 10 years. They are very well known in our business industry.

Thanks for the feedback. As we always tell our clients, the Panjiva Rating is just one data point you should consider when evaluating a potential supplier. The Panjiva Rating simply evaluates whether a company's business with U.S. customers is growing, stable, or declining. If a potential supplier's business with U.S. customers is declining, I recommend at least inquiring about the health of the business. Are they making up for the lost business with European customers? If so, that may give you comfort that the supplier is worth doing business with.

Other data points that Panjiva provides that I encourage you to consider: whether a company has certifications for social and environmental responsibility, whether the company appears on blacklists, information on the company's financial health, and how much experience the supplier has producing the product you're interested in.

We're always looking at ways to improve Panjiva (and the Panjiva Rating methodology), and we'll take your thoughts into account. Thank you!

Customer information

Why is it okay to put out peoples name and address for the world wide web to see. Including bill of sale this is a breach of confidentiality. No one is told that this will happen but I can assure you my work is a big company and I have a big mouth and will be telling anyone and the companies here that you put the information on line for everyone to see. Panji does not care about customer confidentiality

AFRAID TO SUBSCRIBE AGAIN

Panjiva is a good source for suppliers, However they are not very honest and charge your credit card without authorization.

I took out a subscription for one month and told them not to charge my card the next month. They still did and still have not reversed the charge.

To make matters worst they harass you and harass you. Their sales tactics are totally unprofessional and unethical.

I have been wanting to subscribe again but afraid too because I do not want my card charged for second month and neither do I want the harassment to begin again

* Panjiva offers monthly subscriptions that, renew automatically. You -- and all of our customers -- can cancel anytime, and we always remind you when your subscription renews. If your subscription renewed and you didn't want it to, just let us know! We'll happily refund you.

* I'm very troubled to hear that you were harassed. We do market to our past clients to encourage them to make use of Panjiva if they ever need us in the future, but every email includes an option to opt-out of future communication from Panjiva. If you received too many emails -- or the emails didn't include an option to opt-out -- I want to hear about it!

I am not a Company I do no export I just sold junk to somebody How could a Company use my name and personhal address tnat now appear first page on internet when I type my name?! I love working with the team at Panjiva. I don't often have issues with their system but when I do, I get a prompt reply and someone is always able to solve the problem. If they don't have an immediate answer they let me know that they are aware and working on it, and they give me a timeline for reply. You can really count on the team at Panjiva. Highest marks.
