I have been purchasing the ImportGenius services for years, and it's an invaluable tool for monitoring our competition and our suppliers activities. I have been dealing with the same Sales Manager for many years (a rare occurrence in this age of job instability & mobility). Bret Light always goes the extra step to meet my requirements, even does my searches while out of the office! That's the type of person I would hire immediately to keep our customers happy! They don't offer a monthly subscriptions, but you can always cancel at anytime and re-subscribe when needed. Highly recommended!

Terrible technology, incomplete data, and utterly incompetent customer service. I thought Panjiva had gotten worse since it was acquired by S&P. Next to Import Genius, Panjiva is Google plus Apple plus the Library of Congress.
The information this company provided helped me keep a record of the shipments of goods my factory was selling to other companies without my permission.

Total waste of money. Was on this system through my partner's subscription for over a year. We kept getting told that we would get access to specifically the shipments and products we were interested in. We weren't. The data was confusing. It's just a very basic product for information you could easily find through US Customs. I also found their business practices suspect. I received a letter with false information in an attempt to get me to resubscribe at my new company. Horrible! And so low! If I could scan the note I would.
I was very generous with one star. This is rally bad. No info at all. No details for companies, nor for BOL, not able to filter, not to sort out. I asked info for 50 companies details (supposed to be allowed) and sent me for half of them...

I have so many USA transports calling me looking for loads when i have 0 shipments in USA in past 2 years. I am in Canada. I pity anyone that pays a fee for false information. Just because a vessel stops at a usa port, doesnt mean it get discharged there. Its a real shame. Has so much potential

Import Genius is an immensely valuable service to anyone involved in the import industry. You can get detailed information on every factory in the world. This means a lot of things. If you import shoes, you can find every factory in the world that makes shoes. You can see who in the US buys the shoes. You can see what factory Nike buys from, for example. This information can be used to get factories to behave better, to negotiate prices, and so many other things. If you don't see the value, look harder.
I needed to get some information and I contacted them today. I worked with Michael and he was able to find just what I needed, gave me the information quickly, and answered all of my questions. The information was also thorough. I appreciate his patience and willingness to research thoroughly.

I wouldn't advise anyone to waste their money. I signed up for a month to try it. The main company I wanted to check on, they couldn't find more than a couple shipments. Another company I checked on, they told me when a shipment came in but the name of where the shipment came from wasn't listed. They didn't have that information. When I closed my account, they billed me for another month telling me that it wasn't closed properly. My advice is, save your money.

This company is another company like Panjiva.com. They publish personal import/export data without the person's permission. Your personal data will be published by them even if you only shipped some personal belongings from abroad. Those founders are terrible money-oriented people.
The application has been very useful for my company and we use the site almost daily. We were able to find several new suppliers and tap into new markets. I've also been very happy with their customer service team. They take the time to make sure you're getting the information you need. Would definitely recommend!

Mr Kinal signed up for service online and accepted the Terms of Service, once he reached out to cancel which was yesterday, we cancelled the account. He did not try to contact us until yesterday.
These people have done wounders for me. Putting me in touch with many overseas suppliers that I could have never known about. I also was given personal training via phone on howto search and utilize the data base. They were able to answer any question I had the several times I called. Thats an A+ in my book
They do not want new business, trying to schedule a demo and guy told me that those time i am on lunch, i am working on such and such time.
Come on... give me a break... companies are speding $$$$$ to aquire new customers and here i am trying to give business and they dont want it, called toll free number and guy name BRUCE don't even greet properly for new customer.

I’m sorry to hear that you think Import Genius is a sneaky company. We pride ourselves on delivering top customer service to our clients so to hear you are displeased with our service is disheartening.
When you signed up for our service in January, you signed up for the account online which states the Plus plan is $199 per month. The terms of service, which you agreed to, confirms the account is a subscription that is billed monthly and you must contact us to cancel the account and stop recurring billing. Prior to signing up, you spoke to multiple representatives, saw several demonstrations, and received emails confirming the details of our plans including the subscription terms – all of which state that we offer month to month plans. I’m not sure where the confusion was but not once did we state that it was a “one month only” account. We do not offer one month only accounts. We are a subscription based service.
You had used the account in January, February, and March. When you contacted us in April requesting to cancel the account we happily assisted you with the closure of the account. We also promptly refunded the April payment as a courtesy since you had not used your account during that billing period. We feel that this is a very fair assessment of the situation, as it seemed clear that you understood the account is a monthly service from the usage over 3 months.

If you sign up for an account and give this company money, they will charge you every month until you call to cancel the subscription. They will tell you that all of their plans are monthly and they will keep charging you until you call to cancel. They will also tell you that it is their policy even though you will find it very hard to find this policy if it even exists. Someone will reply to this telling me they are very sorry that I did not understand their policy. They were more than happen to take my $399.00 for 30 days of using their tool. I was limited on how much I was even able to use it per day. This company has the perfect scam going. Give them money to use something that they limit how much you can use it per day, then they keep charging you for it the next month. I wish I had more sense than to give this company any of my money. You can actually use other sites that don't cost anything that will give you more than what I received from this company. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY MONEY TO FIND OUT THE INFORMATION THAT THEY PROVIDE. Rather than refunding me for the second month and just stealing my money for the first month, they charged my card a second month in a row and now they are trying to keep the additional $399 that they charged me. Don't have the same regret I have. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

As a client, you would have been told that you have access to any information that is provided on the Bill of Lading, which stands true. We get all of our information from US Customs, and although that information is free when researching it online yourself, it is similar to looking through a stack of millions of papers trying to find one single document on your own. We provide a service where we make it much easier and efficient for clients to search these documents through an organized database, allowing them to search by several different criteria. Again, the information that is provided in our database comes directly from US Customs, and therefore the information we are given is not false, but is what is given from shippers directly.
