Opodo and their insurance partner company eDreams have the worst customer service in the world! If you buy an insured ticked, don't ever expect to see your money back, because you won't! However, they will make sure that you lose tons of your time and nerves while they are shifting responsibility, making you talk to idiotic chatbots until you go insane and finally give up, letting them keep the money they owe you, so you can have your peace of mind again. This is criminal and I am wondering how much money they stole from their customers so far. Probably billions. Criminal companies both Opodo and eDreams. STAY AWAY FROM BOTH!

Booked a flight with Opodo and this is the email I received 2 days later ( original email but the names and booking is removed:

My flight was cancelled by airline on Monday 28th August 2023. Opodo are not interested in listening or assisting in anyway. If you send a complaint within minutes you get a standard rejection letter. In other words they don't even bother looking at your complaint and/or email. I never cancelled my flight, the airline did. The airline said im entitled to my refund, but Opodo don't even want to listen.
Don't ever book with them. Disgusting, dismal, terrible service

I booked two flights. Both of them were cancelled. I had to fight for a refund. They kept my money for weeks (and I'm still waiting). And despite not taking any flights I booked, they charged me £80 for the privilege. I would love to know from opodo what I received for the £80? Absolute joke. I have spent three hours on the phone to attempt to get a refund and have been met with rude robots. No refund has arrived yet for tge flights. Never use this company.
Soul destroying experience. I can usually detect scam vibes but these guys took my money for a flight they couldn't book because the airline has blocked them. Do not trust the prices. This company send you in circles with no resolution and no human contact. I have had to buy an entire new flight. They are a scam and the good reviews are likely planted by them. They are a sophisticated scam so don't be fooled! Book direct with the airline or provider!
Total Scammers. Cant log in to my account so you cant cancel prime membership. Was very happy until i tried to log in to buy extras with my prime membership. 2 weeks on still cant log in. Prime says calls answered in under 1 min. Not true. Total scam in my eyes will never ever deal here again

Opodo's checkout process is one of the worst I have ever seen anywhere. You are constantly bombarded with a minefield of vague and unclear upgrade options.
Their strategy seems to be to try and trick you into picking some upgrade options somewhere to increase the price of your ticket. Stay away!

Had a flight cancelled by the airline from Valencia to Lisbon under booking *******4914 and to this day I'm battling to get my money back. Called numerous times, sent numerous emails including the CEO Dana and I am still waiting nearly a year later. Please AVOID this company AT ALL COSTS. They are ok if you don't have any issues with your travel but if something happens to your flight or holiday you won't get your money back. Their HQ is now based in Spain and no longer part of the ATOL Protection scheme leaving the UK consumer powerless. Check reviews and forums before booking.
They seem to have 2 Trustpilot set of reviews now so PLEASE PLEASE check before booking your holiday. This company is scamming customers. They keep blaming the airline for not passing the money to them, excusing themselves from the transaction. Please protect your mental health, family and your money. Booked a car, payed for prime insurance. End of the day I was late to the desk and haven't got the car neither any refund or discount for a new booking. Stuff by the desk wasn't interested in helping or solving the issue. Great start of the holiday.
- Booked a flight via Opodo and short time before the flight, they notified me about the flight being cancelled. Interesting enough, the airline never cancelled the flight, probably Opodo just sold seats they did not have. I also had to book another flight on my own and having to do that just a few days before the flight date, I do not need to mention how expensive that was.
- 2 years later and NEVER received my money back, regardless of how many times I requested it. Time lost doing so should not even be mentioned as their customer service would never respond to your chat if you use "Refund" as a reason. If you use something else, they will say that you reached the wrong department and they will transfer you, and nobody will answer.
- Only once I managed to get an answer from them saying that I should request that from the airline and that being said, they will close the ticket because they consider it solved. Needless to say, airline's feedback was that if you booked via 3rd party, that party is the one that is in charge with paying you back the money.
- There are so many social media groups where people are complaining how they never got their money back that actually makes you wonder how is it that this company hasn't yet been closed by the authorities and the owners arrested. It is a very-very shady one.
They're a scam! Don't be tempted. You'll get their "free month" membership plan, but really, they charge you for the entire year in advance and refuse to refund upon cancellation. They will however cancel your membership - without a refund. Not worth it, big scam. Stay away.
Not happy with service. Kept calling me a lier and refused to help me. All I want is my refund which the company is liable for as I received NO contact from them to inform me of flight changes.They lie to say they contacted me on my BIRTHDAY March 31st but this is NOT true. No contact was made and NO Email received. I am very upset with this company as they left me stranded in Kathmandu Nepal. I then had to pay another company to get home. I will never book with Opodo again. It even still says that the flight is leaving at 20:20hrs but it left at 18:00hrs! Proof in picture. Would NOT recommend using this company as they will take your money and mess you around just like they did to me and many others. 4 times they changed my flight to Nepal and not once did they tell me about the flight changes for my return flight. All they say is not liable for a refund as part of airline policy. They won't help you. Don't book with these people.
Answer: Guys, it would only cost you about £40 to take them to small claims court. Dont just take the loss, these people need to be held to account. Id also contact Rip Off Britain to get a programme made about their tactics
