I admit, in the beginning they did as they promised. My score went up, as long as i paid my account off. But it was the closing of the account that their true colors came out. I cancelled my account on September 2nd, 2017. I wanted to use my deposit to pay it off, they said they couldn't do that and that it would take up to 10 weeks to refund my initial deposit. Well 12 weeks went by and nothing happened. I called them. They said they would investigate and it would take 7 days. I called back 10 days later and spoke to someone else who said no, it wouldn't take 7 it would take 10 - 15. I asked to speak to a manager. She stated more than likely it would be done in 15 days. So i called back a week later ( 17 days after the initial call) They said they had no answer and couldn't guarantee when my deposit would be available. So then i asked for a manager again. Then i asked why he was the 5th person i talked to who gave me a different answer. He said the others must not have known what they were talking about. Now I'm at almost 14 weeks after my account is closed. I had to contact my states attorney general to get my money back, otherwise there is no guarantee that you will get your money back. I officially got my money back 18 weeks after i initially closed my account. That is just horrible business and in my opinion, i think they would have kept my money if i hadn't gone the extra step. I HIGHLY suggest you go somewhere else. The end of the relationship wasn't worth the beginning.
Last year, I cancel my card in October 2017. I was approved for my deposit back because I didn't have a balance. I paid this card more than I should have thought my credit score would get higher, but it didn't and I wasted a lot of money. Anyway, I still have not received my deposit back and it was going into the month of November 2017. Now OpenSky has this policy that after you are approved for you deposit they will send out your deposit within in 2 weeks. Well, it was past the 2 weeks mark. I wanted my deposit before Thanksgiving and I got it too. Let me explain how to all those who have not received their deposit back yet.
First, I realize their customer service was friendly to me and I was sick of how I felt after the phone call. I got no action from them and I still didn't get my deposit, yet.
I went on a site called Consumer Financial Protection Bureau www.consumerfinancial.gov and I visited Federal Trade Commission. Let me tell you this for anyone who can't get through a credit card company. These two sites that I visited will get in contact with anyone dealing with consumer's rights. These companies don't play and mean real business and they stand up for us the consumers who were mistreated by credit card companies or any companies.
My story is I complaint on these sites about my situation dealing with Open
Skycc, com. A real true story, I got my deposit before Thanksgiving 2017. I say if you are having issues with any credit card company, complain about these sites because they stand up for us consumers. They protect us from companies that try to violate consumer's rights. After I have received my deposit, now OpenSky writes me a letter about telling the consumer financial protection bureau and federal trade commission to leave them alone.
My credit score was 594,619, and 627, today I am seeing a huge difference in my scored with Equifax. I pay this credit card on time before time since I had this card and my score jumped from a 619 down to a 588. I have not done anything different while having this card. I am very disappointed in this card especially after I was speaking up on this card about how others were talking down, now I am not so sure about this card since my score has went down over 30 points and dont know why. I had this card to build up my credit not down. I am trying to be patient with this card, thinking my score will go back up and maybe higher. If my credit score dont improve while having this card, I will definitely give this card a very bad review and will encourage others to stay away from this card. I hoping this card is not effecting my score negatively...
I have had the card for 1 year and have had issues since day 1. It took forever to get the card. Then when I put in for an increase, it took an act of congress and approx. 2 mo for approval ( for a secured card). Then once they approved it, 300 was available not 400.00. That was about a month to get that worked out. Now, after 1 year of diligently watching my spending and making my payments on time, my score has been dropped down to only a few points higjer than it was when I started. I am convinced now that this card is actively seeking ways to increase it's profits by exploiting card holders. They made a change to their website and ask that people sign into the new site. I saw nothing about updating automatic payments or updating statement receipt preferrences. Why would you? I geel this was just a way to scam thousands of card holders. They reported a 3 dollar statement fee when I was on paperless statements, which dropped my credit score 40 points. This card has far too many issues and horrible customer service. They appear to be a scam in my opinion. I intend to close the card and report them to the Feds. I suggest that anyone else having issues does the same or they will continue to operate under the radar, scamming hard working people like you and me.
Good Afternoon. I have been trying to contact someone in your corporate office and I have had absolutely no luck at all. I found out that I owed a small balance of $185. After contacting the credit dept. my call was sent to Carson Smithfield who informed me that they could not accept any other payments other than mail. I paid the $23.75 to have the payment over-nighted via USPS on Mon. 11/27. The payment was received. They told me on Thurs. 11/30 that my account was updated as of that day and that they will mail a letter out to me and that Opensky CC would update my (3) Credit Reports. I contacted OpenSky CC today 12/8/17 only to find out that the balance was actually $185.17 and that they have not closed my account because of the $0.17 left. I would have to get a supervisor approval to waive the $0.17 balance on the account before they report to the credit bureaus. They were also unable to tell me how long it would take to process the approval to waive the $0.17 balance and they were not able to tell me when the letter would go out once the supervisor waived the fee.
They take a deposit and then all they do is find ways to charge for non existent "payment reversals" and keep your money
This is pure theft, and takes advantage of the poor people trying to reestablish credit.
Someone should file a class action.
Been calling every couple of days to wait on hold for hours. They have yet to fix my account and at this point I don't think they want to. I've had them for two years and after the changes they've made the past two months I'm defintely switching. I've never made late payments and now I'm gonna have to sink one because they can't get their stuff straight.
Can not reach customer service. No statement no email but my credit report shows i own $25. I am not using this card for the last one year. Recently they have closed old online accounts and i am not able to setup new account. No one is there to help.
I had a 2 dollar amount that I was told I didn't have to pay since I was closing my account and that they would take it out of my deposit instead. Instead they charged me $25 dollar return check fee and refused to give me the money back. Didn't send my deposit to me for 4 weeks.
I lost my card and had my account freezed. Once i received the new card, I have activated, but it keeps declining each time i am trying to make a purchase and that's really embarrassing. So i call customer service and they activated my card then i mentioned to her that i am traveling and dont need anymore embarrassments. She puts me on hole and says sorry for the inconvenience but your card is frozen again and we need a copy of your ID and a decent utility bill. Well at this point I have had it and asked her to close my account, not possible without that information privided to us. So i asked for a supervisor, she comes back from a long hole ti tell me no one is available. This is really a joke, they didnt ask for this information when they were taking my money, but when i need it back they making it so hard. I would like to know if they are robbing people blind legally or this business practices are allowed by our goverment. As a consumer i dictate what happens to my money, not a company tell what should i do. I will not stop posting reviews all over the internet before someone thinks they can rebuild their credit score with this company. I wish i have seen this review before i gave up my hard earned money to those thieves. And i wonder if they even care about their customers.
Ok so my card is locked and I have funds available... I've called (*******412 at least 5 times on different days. I hang up after 1 hour of waiting. I've NEVER seen anything like it in my Life! Will someone from OpenSky contact me! Do opensky have any customer service reps? IDK what to do? Can someone from Openskycc call me? GGGGRrrrrrrrrrrr
I recently made 2 payments of 50$ each in that past 2 weeks and each week theyve reversed my payments causing me to loose 150$ altogether including the 25$ reversal fees. I called them and theyre saying my bank declined the payments for insufficent funds which is a lie. I called my bank and in their system it doesnt show no signs of Opensky trying to take money out. As well as my online account. Its making my credit score drop, and me loose out on money. Dont get this B. S. card go to another company that doesnt play these kind of games with your money and credit!
DO NOT send this company any money! First off... if you see they don't even have an email you can use for contacting them... run! I have tried to call them on their "CUSTOMER SERVICE" line for 2 days straight and have just been kept on hold for 45 minutes at a time! WHAT A JOKE! I can't close this card fast enough and get my 3000 back to actually pay for things in a timely manner!
I haven't had any problems until they did a new "update" I was enrolled for automatic payment withdrawls and this month they sent a bill saying i was late not to mention I've been on hold for 1 hour and 30 mins still no answer I'm really about to close this account so pissed! Don't think about opening an account RUN the other way!
First off let me say this card should not get any negative reviews. If you used this card accordingly and are patient, there should never be any issues with it and you will see results. Customer service could do better with hold/wait time when calling but all that tells you is call when you have time to spare. Again, Im truly shocked at how many negative reviews have been posted against Opensky. Using this card has helped open doors that were once closed to me. Ive had this card for 3 months and saw my credit score rise like never before 150 pts/ 3mo. Thats saying a lot coming from a person who has had a credit score of 441 for the past two years. All I did was buy small purchases like a pack of cigarettes, $10 in gas and energy drinks all at separate times of course. Keep your card utilization under 35% for best results, lower the better. If anyone is still on the fence about applying for this card i hope after reading this will make up your mind. I speak from experience Opensky is a legitimate game changer.
This card is a scam. They have all kinds of hidden fees. Example: you only learn this after your first bill, that they charge $3 for a statement fee unless you waive receiving paper statements. No app. Website is horrible. Security verification is a joke.

I've had my secured credit card from OpenSky for over 7 months and it has not added one point to my credit score. It is a useless investment. Do not use OpenSky! Scam
I cannot access any statements, I pay my balance every month, online says previous balance was 0. Online says I have charged about 170.00, but that my balance is now 396.00!
Ever since the new online update. I have not been able to login and I have tried calling multiple times only to be on the phone for over an hour and still not able to get ahold of anyone.
This is ridiculous.
Every since the new online updated I have not been able to get in to my account i have resign up like they said too but once i try to login i get this error msg

I now have been on hand to speak to customer service and be waiting for over 1 hour. This is horrible customer service!
Attempted to access a portion of my available cash and entered what I thought was my pin number. The pin number I entered was incorrect and my card was locked. I called Opensky and had to wait 25 minutes to reach a representative.
The representative told me my card was locked but he could unlock it if I answered the verification questions. I answered the verification questions and he then told me that everything was successful but for some reason he still could not unlock my card. He said that my card could not be unlocked because of too many attempts. He then told me I would have to wait until tomorrow for my card to be unlocked. (I'm writing this review as this situation happened 15 minutes ago)
I advised the representative that my card being locked until the next day was not an acceptable option for me. I requested to speak with someone else. He then told me he get his supervisor on the phone. I waited an additional 15 minutes, on hold, while waiting for the supervisor, and the call was disconnected. I am now on the phone waiting to speak with someone else. The customer service is of no help as of now.
Also, when you make your payment, Opensky processes the payment, however, they take up to five additional business days to make the credit available again.
I am not pleased with this card at all.
Answer: I too, gave the my money on 2/21/17 and am still waiting on a card so that I may use my funds that I gave them!
Answer: I got a letter stating up to 10 weeks. What a grifter organization. Probably Hunter Biden is on their board and the big guy runs the check book!
