I bought my domain through Namecheap, and the whole process was quick and easy. Finding the right name didn't take long, prices were clear, and everything worked smoothly from start to finish. Overall, a very straightforward and reliable experience.
While it was easy enough to purchase, the following clarifications on payments and constant confirmation of my order (even though I'm already using the domain and hosting the website) has made this experience wholly unclear and unacceptable. I've had domains I've purchase before and hosted on other websites and they've been seamless compared to this experience.
It was a very simple process. I came in, searched for my domain name, found one and instantly bought with a an ongoing offer.

I purchased multiple domains through Namecheap and received paid invoices, order confirmations, and ownership transfer emails directly from Namecheap. I was billed, received receipts, and my WHOIS contact details were updated. I received official confirmation emails from Namecheap that the domains were now in my account and fully active. Over 10 days later, Namecheap suddenly claimed that the payment "was not completed" or "failed" — despite their own receipts and confirmations showing otherwise. They are now asking me to pay again or risk losing domains I already own. This is completely unacceptable, as no domain can be transferred without payment clearing first. Their system confirmed ownership, updated WHOIS details, and issued invoices. This is not a buyer's fault — it is either fraudulent behavior or severe internal mishandling by Namecheap. I am posting this review so others are aware. Always double-check your receipts and WHOIS updates, and be prepared to escalate complaints. Evidence: I hold copies of the Namecheap emails showing order numbers, transaction IDs, confirmed payments, and WHOIS updates. Warning: Be cautious before trusting Namecheap with critical domain purchases.

What Happened I paid the redemption fee to restore my expired domain, expecting everything to work. But the domain did not function afterward. My email services were down for an entire day. Although Namecheap received my payment, they did not fulfill the service properly. I could not send or receive emails all day. I then contacted support via live chat. I was in the chat for over 2 hours, with the same questions repeated multiple times. I was asked to wait in 10-minute intervals repeatedly. I was transferred from one agent to another, and after nearly 3 hours, there was still no solution. Nothing was resolved. No restore of email, no clear ETA, nothing concrete. What Namecheap's Policies Say vs. Reality Their support page claims 24/7 support via live chat and email, and states that users should expect a response within 2 hours. They also outline domain redemption procedures: once you pay the redemption fee, you add the correct funds and contact support to "complete the process." Their grace period policy states that during the "grace period" ( 30 days after expiration for many gTLDs), you can renew without a redemption fee. Only if that is missed does the domain enter the redemption state. So, according to their own terms: I paid the redemption fee (so presumably Namecheap had everything to proceed). They are supposed to perform the domain/email restoration after payment + support follow-up. Their support is supposed to respond to urgent issues within ~2 hours. Where They Failed They collected payment but did not restore the domain or services (email) after I paid. Their support did not adhere to the promised response time. Waiting for ~3 hours with no results contradicts the "within 2 hours" policy. They repeatedly transferred me between agents without resolution and made me wait in long intervals. My Advice To Others If you use Namecheap: Be very cautious with redemption. Even after you pay, there is no guarantee things will be fixed quickly. Know that "response in 2 hours" is their stated policy, but in reality, urgent issues might take much longer. Prepare for possibly very frustrating support interactions.
There not very truthful in there advertising, they advertise a unlimited space plan, but in reality, it's only 40gb and only 10gb from each category. Below is from there terms of service: - A maximum of 10GB of a shared hosting account can be allocated to music, video or other multimedia files including but not limited to. Aac,. Avi,. Mp3,. Mp4,. Mpeg,. Jpg,. Png,. Gif files;
- A maximum of 10GB of a shared hosting account can be allocated to any archive and disk image files containing the complete contents and structure of a data storage medium;
- A maximum of 10GB of a shared hosting account can be allocated to databases and database dumps including but not limited to. Sql files;
- A maximum of 10GB of a shared hosting account can be allocated to Executable files and all other files which are the result of compiling a program.
- As a part of disk usage optimization, error_log files on our Shared and Reseller servers are size-limited to 10MB per file and 1000 rows with the latest logs. If you go over 10gb in one of those categories they will terminate your account, but first offer to move you to a VPS plan at more then 4 times the price. I have been a customer for a long time and they could care less, they just want to scam you to get more money out of you.
