My wife finally found the faith to let me have our Cine Films transferred to DVD. As we didn't know the running order, the guy in the shop offered us their "index" service. We received a DVD of the films and then went back to them with the order we wanted them in and with a title for each of the films. I have just collected the finished DVD and it is absolutely brilliant.

Ontodvd require payment from you before they release the results of their conversion. Unfortunately, if there is anything wrong with the results, in my experience, once they've got your money they do nothing more to rectify what they got wrong. They sometimes respond to emails with promises to do something, but then never do what they have promised. Avoid.

Ontodvd require payment from you before they release the results of their conversion. Unfortunately, if there is anything wrong with the results, in my experience, once they've got your money they do nothing more to rectify what they got wrong. They sometimes respond to emails with promises to do something, but then never do what they have promised. Avoid.

I'm not from UK and unfortunately I was trusting info on site and phone conversation with representative.
Since 2 years now I have sent my unrecoverable memories to be copied to SD card.
Still, today, only promises. I have contacted ombudsman, ECC but provider doesn't want to cooperate with anybody.
I am to be blamed because package is returned to him. However I have never received any proof (AWB, receipt).
I am to be blamed only because I had trust in this company.
Avoid. You will loose money, time and personal memories.

I had six old super 8 films from the seventies to put onto DVD. I found this company to be completely incompetent to perform even a simple operation. After many phone calls I believed that they were simply scam merchants, having paid for the dvd's by paypal they failed to deliver and I had to make further phone calls to chase them up. Promises to call me back, the "system is down", they have "been sent yesterday", the lies became almost predictable. I came to the conclusion that they were not criminals but merely severely deficient in business. How any body can work in such a pathetic unprofessional business is beyond me? AVOID this company to save yourself lots of heartbreak.

This company manage to get to the top of google searches and I had thought it was a local company so gave them a call... they were miles away but was reassured on the phone they were the best so sent my order in of some 15 reels of cine to put onto DVD. They were of my late father in law to give to the family as Christmas presents and was reassured they would be here in time. I followed up with a few emails and was reassured they would be here on time. Yesterday they said they would be calling me back for the payment then they will be couriered to me for Xmas eve... but no they again told lies and I have. Not received anything but just a ruined Christmas for the 5 recipients of the DVDs... I am so upset and disappointed. Will be taking legal advice so please don't use unless you live nearby and can collect or get back the dvds!

I waited for weeks, was messed about and lied to by this company. When I did finally recieve my dvds weeks after I was promised I was devastated with the appaling quality of them. The times i did manage to be in contact with them i was dealt with foul & abusive language and when I asked for a refund, the guy said what do you expect for £5 a DVD. I expect the job to be done correctly like they advertise! And not to be treated like complete and utter crap!

Sadly I didn't read the poor reviews until after they had my cine films and were behaving appallingly.

They took twice as long to process them from what they said and then having paid they took a month to send my order back to me.
They tell lies, don't respond to emails, never call you back and often don't answer their phones.
They told me repeatedly my order had been dispatched then when it hadn't arrived, they miraculously found it still in their possession.
The quality is better than the ones I made years ago but the films do not seem to have been cleaned and are full of dust spots and other dirt flickers.
I'm not impressed and would not recommend them to others - I'm just glad to have them back in my possession

Tip for consumers:
Go elsewhere - you'll only get grief and worry

After trying for 8 weeks with 14 Telephone calls 4 Emails & 1Recorded letter I failed to get a single response from OntoDVD.com, yesterday I posted my review on SiteJabber and a MIRACLE happened, Callum OntoDVD's boss telephoned me and I was bombarded with a hail of abuse, threats and foul language, this was followed up with an email. He told me to take the review off the site otherwise I would get no refund and he would contact his solicitor, I pointed out that almost 50% of the reviews on his company were mirror images of my complaints against him and that people had a right to warn others of company's like his and no amount of threats would make me take the review off. I will post the results of my County Court claim as soon as the case has been heard, any other complainants should consider taking court action against him and get them shut down.

Don't it's the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Came across these guys whilst travelling to work. Finally handed my late fathers Cine film and my camcorder tapes in. Collected them on Saturday and had a good weekend watching them. Lovely to see the old films. I'll be back.

Called last Thursday with a genuine enquiry, about putting tapes onto DVD for a Christmas prezzie. Was told the pick-up would probably be Friday, and they took my name and contact number to reach me. It's now Wednesday, and I've heard nothing. So, I'm doing it myself. Sad really. Would think in this day and age, companies need word-of-mouth and sales to keep them going. Won't even waste the phonecall on them next time!

Absolutely shockingly bad company. Please see below email I sent them - without get any response what so ever! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

''I've recently received some cine films back that you put onto DVD for me. I've had so many issues and problems with my order I don't know where to start!
However, before I leave some awful reviews all over the internet I wanted to give you the chance to redeem yourselves.

A catalogue of disasters:

* Before sending the films I was told via email the turnaround time was 5-7 days. From you receiving the films to returning them you took a staggering 36 days! Do you, running a business, find this acceptable?

* You received my films 5th July, I awaited my promised call back with price quote. Heard nothing so chased you via email 6th July and 7th July. You confirmed and quoted a price of £66, which was incorrect. I queried this on 7th July and again on 11th July. You confirmed you quoted wrong price as you'd input wrong footage in data base!

* After getting the correct price I confirmed for you to go ahead and asked for a paypal invoice.

*15th July chased my invoice and tried to find out where the order was at. Told order was complete. But still no invoice sent.

*20th July chased my order and invoice twice - no reply.

* 21st July you sent invoice, again you tried to overcharge me £18! Emailed back asking for new invoice.

*22nd July correct invoice sent and promptly paid for. Called that afternoon to find out when I would receive my films, told I'd have them by Tuesday 26th July.

*Went on Holiday and when I returned on 10th August I STILL had not received my films! Over the next three days I called a total of 10 times. Leaving messages every time as there was never anyone in your office able to help me. No one ever bothered calling back and I finally received the films on 13th August - they had only been sent on 10th August!
Why would you complete my order and have your payment but not send it for another 19 days?

* After watching the films I'm rather disappointed with the quality as on your website your promise to 'slow films down to appear more natural'. This certainly hasn't been done as part of the film speeds up in places. You also offer free colour correction, this hasn't been done either as a couple of the films are a very red in colour.

Not once did anyone get back to me with any explanations or apologies. The customer service has been appalling. I'd love to hear back from you to find out how a company can get things this wrong.
I'm so glad I only sent a few films to try your service out before I went ahead with the full 170ft worth of films.''

Like many people, I found family Cine Films while clearing my parents attic. I found these guys via Google, and sent my films off. They arrived a couple of days ago, and the results are wonderful. My sister and I have had a wonderful time wathching ourselves as children and enjoying happy memories once again. Thank you so much.

Don't hesitate in using the service this company provides. It has been amazing to see my childhood memories again.

Have not go a good word to say about these so called pro people they have more excuses than sinking of the titanic. Orders promised not completed or delivered on time. Do not trust anything they say as they cannot deliver as promised. I was promised 7 to 10 day turn around for my work had to fight to even get them back. The owner said that if any staff had promised that turnaround time they would not be working there (beware staff.) Please never never use this company.

I sent VHS tapes to be copied onto DVD. The results were pretty awful. I know that the quality of the VHS tapes was not good, but I didn't expect further deterioration in quality. Annoyed, I called OntoDVD to request a refund. The person I spoke too, Callum, refused and virtually accused me of wanting free DVDs, or of copying them and sending the originals back for a refund. Despite being outraged at this accusation, I reluctantly agreed to return the DVDs on the understanding that they would refund or replace them with better quality versions (if they accepted that they were not good quality) and, in any event that they would refund the postage for returning them (another £8.50). After I returned the DVDs, they allegedly recopied the tapes and sent better DVDs. The improvement was negligible! Now fed up with the fiasco, I had the tapes copied elsewhere to make sure that better quality copies were in fact possible. The versions I now have from the alternative supplier are fine. I have had no refund at all from OntoDVD, not even the additional postage cost that I was promised regardless of the outcome of my complaint. They no longer even reply to my e-mails. I would certainly not recommend this service.

Took my money in the form of a cheque, cashed it and then sent a PayPal payment request. My order is being withheld and 3 phone calls and empty promises have not resolved the situation. Avoid...

I sent off an audio tape of my parents singing in the 70's. The CD arrived on Saturday, and it is great. We had many laughs at my parents singing competition. Really pleased with the results. Would use again. Thanks

Got my camcorder tapes put to DVD by this company. Very good price, and quality DVD, and they were local so I could take them in person. Would recommend for anyone in Glasgow.

A very good service only took a couple of days, and it looks like there isn't anything they can't do.

Just like to thank you very much for the good work with my cine films.
The difference between the transfers I did years ago with a glass-screen and what I'm looking at now is unbelievable!
Very impressed considering the quality of the films weren't that good to begin with.
The good parts are nearly as good as hd dvd's!-BRILLIANT-so pleased with them.

Further to my review about ontodvd, I would like to say that I eventually received my DVDs and was very pleased with the results. I think that their problem is with customer relations. They did not return any of my phone calls as promised and few e mails, so I was in the dark as to what was happening with my films. I did require the films for a special occasion, but did not get them in time, that's what frustrated me.

I have an old (+30 years) VHS cassette which had been poorly stored at high temperatures (50c+) and in high humidity, yet ontodvd managed to faithfully copy the film and provide a good quality DVD despite these challenges. There were significant delays in order completion which needed multiple phone calls to rectify but an apology was given and the DVD was received by the time required; sent by 'guaranteed next day delivery' at their expense.
The cost was extremely reasonable and despite the hiccups about return delivery, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them for their high quality work.

I sent a mixed batch of video tapes to ontodvd at the end of August/early September, having spoken to Callum a couple of times on the phone, and been very impressed with the response. The courier arrived to collect my tapes very promptly, and I received an e-mail in mid-September to say the transfer was complete, and requesting paymenrt via PayPal - this was done on 18 September (£120). Since then, I have been awaiting delivery, and have contacted the company on a number of occasions, I was given several reasons why the delivery has not been made - a couple of discs failed quality check, bad weather prevented courier collection, change of courier/backlog of delivery. I was told yesterday (8 October) that the delivery had left ontodvd on the 5th October and would be with me today latest. I have just spoken to ontodvd again, to ask for a tracking number, and been told that there is a note on the delivery from the courier which needs to be followed up - they will call me back! Having just stumbled on this site, I hope that I am not suffering from what a number of others seem to have suffered from, and that Callum will deliver on the promises he seems to be making. I will let you know what happens!

Whilst clearing the garage, I came across tapes of my kids. Went on line and found ontodvd. I took advantage of the free collection service, and the order was returned at the end of last week. My wife is over the moon at seeing the kids when they were younger. Well pleased with the service. Thanks!

AWFUL SERVICE! I will not use this company ever again. I sent them two VHS tapes and one DVC, the two VHS tapes were returned with DVD copies as requested, the DVC was missing with no copy. I rang them on numerous occasions (at no time did they ever ring me) to find out what had happened to it and they were totally clueless and said all they could do was replace the cost of the blank DVC, which incidently I never received. I lost an irreplaceable video of my father.
DON'T LET THEM LOSE YOUR PRECIOUS VIDEOS.

Awful - spoken to via telephone 3 times as to when i would be receiving tapes/dvd back. Took day off work only to find they hadnt been sent as promised. When phoned girl just said ` well wasnt me u spoke to yesterday so not my problem. 3 weeks now and still havent got them.
