The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with ticket delivery, refund policies, and customer service responsiveness. Many customers report being charged exorbitant fees, receiving invalid tickets, and facing unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations and claims of being scammed. While some customers appreciate the variety of events offered, the overwhelming sentiment reflects a lack of trust and reliability. The company's rigid policies regarding refunds, particularly for postponed events, further exacerbate negative perceptions, suggesting a need for improved customer service and clearer communication.

I did 2 chats explaining that i clicked on one date, instead, i got tickets for i got were for another date. I explained what happened and asked to get the tickets for the day i needed, instead, i was told to sell them, or not use them, or get a refund for 20 bucks, really? Worst customer service!
I was very cautious or nervous per say about buying my tickets online but the site was easy to navigate and I will just have to trust the fine print for what it says. Am super excited to go to this event
Site doesn't convert for Canadians to factor in the exchange as a single parent I never would have bought the tix if I had known
Also other sites gave a free album download for RHCP tix purchasers but didn't get one with this site;(
Use ticketmaster.com, thought price would be comparable, but paid over double for the same tickets available on ticketmaster's site
Received tickets in two days. Great online service
It is absolutely ridiculous how you ticket vendors price gauge the customer! Its already barely affordable to take my kid to see a show and then you add 40 dollars on top of the ticket! That is craziness! My kid really wants to see this show so you got me. Never again!
So far, I am VERY impressed with the service I've received from OnlineCityTickets. I found a very reasonably priced ticket on Wednesday, and it was delivered to me via UPS from the States on Thursday. We were away, but I had arranged to have it delivered to an alternate UPS pick-up location 1 block from our home. Today's Friday, and I just picked up the ticket. All looks good. Whooo hoooo... really looking forward to this concert!
We tried to purhcase two tickets, but were charged for four. We immediately called back and were told there were no refunds. After several calls explaining that it wasn't a "refund", it was a mistake on their part, we learned how to get the salespeople who answer the phone to send us to the next level support, however, for two weeks, prior to the event for which we bought tickets, every time we were transferred to the "right" department (whatever it was), we were put on hold for about 10 minutes until the system simply hung up.
The day AFTER, when it was too late to resell them, they magically started picking up, and guess what? They said they could have done something if we'd gotten hold of them before (although they weren't at all nice about it), but since it took so long we had to just refute the charge via the credit card, which I'm sure they will object to.
Despicable practices, and it's very difficult to believe that the timing was mere coincidence.
Do not buy from OnlineCityTickets.com They are nothing but a scam. They sell you tickets at 2.5 times the amount of what the tickets are selling for. They charge you a handling fee. They charge you as much as they can for the tickets and will not do anything about it. I sent an email and they told me that once you purchase you are in a legally binding contract. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS.
I was searching for concert tickets using the venue web site and they advertised using ticket master. I had no idea, when doing this all on a smart phone, that we were working with this reseller. It wasn't until the price doubled at check out that I suspected something was wrong. When you read reviews and call, they seem to have all the fine print to cover their rear end.
Hi,
I sure wish I had read the reviews on On line City Tickets dot com, before I purchased from them! I was in a rush to see Garth Brooks in Fresno and bought 2 tickets 10 minutes after they went on sale. The savemart center redirected me to On-line city tickets. The price was $900 each. Shortly after, 5 minutes later I saw them for $600 each on a different site.
I called On line City Tickets and tried to cancel. Of course, they would not do this, but offered a $200 dollar refund. Today is the night before the concert and the tickets are $234 per seat now.
A. This is the BIGGEST SCAM i have seen in a long time.
B. This company over charges on day one and slowly drops the price as they go along.
C. They also charge a huge processing fee $150+ per ticket.
D. Some say there seats were changed also.
E. I will find out tomorrow night if I have the seats I paid for
I called my credit card and they cannot stop payment, as when you buy these you have to check the box and accept terms.
Its my hopes, with enough bad reviews, we can put this company out of business.
Why hasn't anyone who writes a review ever contacted an Attorney or asked for legal advice?
I am going to do just that, i'm tired of companies thinking they can get away with this kind dishonest, fraudulent scam. I purchased tickets to the TSO concert, and did not get the section or row I paid for. I was told when I called that I was upgraded, that upgrade was a down grade as far as I was concerned. If I had wanted section 105, I would have asked for it.
I will never do business with this these scammers again. BUYER BEWARE. I will seek legal advice.
They use a deceptive email address xcelenergy.centerstpaul.com to make you think they are the primary ticket sellers when they are actually a re-seller that gouges you in additional service fees. No refunds. Customer service was horrible. Get your tickets from someone else! They're not even based in the US. Don't trust them!
Bought 3 tickets to Keith Urban at Rogers Place. Paid $1000 US. Not complaining about the price I expected that. Got into the event no problem but when we got to our seats there was people in them. Usher took us all to the Ticketmaster wicket. They said we both bought from a 3rd party and not sure why our tickets scanned when the other people had already entered.if we hadn't been let in by mistake we would have not gotten in. Luckily they found us all seats. Never ever ever use any 3rd party seller. Lesson learned.
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE TO PURCHASE ANYTHING! They will sell you tickets that cannot be used to get into concert venues. They will refuse to work with you and will stop all contact once you find out you cannot use the tickets they sold you. They have been kicked out of the Better Business Bureau and are listed as a scam/unsafe website. They don't even deserve 1 star. Why are these crooks still in business?
First, this site is perfect for a well educated consumer. Not so goo for people who don't read the fine print.
The positives: yes they have the tickets they say they do. We had no problem getting into the event, and no one else was in our seats (or tried to occupy the same seats). So if what you want is to get seats to a premium event and are willing to pay a market price for those seats, this is as good a site as I can think of.
The negatives:
(a) I didn't like the way I reached the site. I thought this was the official site. But once I was there, I realized what it was and I just made sure I understood all of the terms of sale before buying.
(b) There is always a huge service charge, so the amount that you pay can be more than $100 more than what is originally specified on a seating chart (or whatever) given the service charge. The solution to this is that you need to compare the total amount, with service charge, to what you'd pay on an alternate site, such as Stub Hub. On that basis, it's pretty comparable, so I wouldn't say it's a below market deal. Again, you just need to be very careful and compare.
Meaning, they have someone buy up all the seats for the event you are going to, then up the price and sell it back to the customer. Its a digital hawker instead of a hawker selling you re-sale tickets illegally while you are trying to find a ticket after an event is sold out.
This is despicable in that you are paying higher prices for the ticket and fees that the site charges you for their service to make a profit. I mean, "download" charge? Whomever heard of a download charge? Its on MY ink and MY paper? Then, they don't give you the option to mail them to you.
Its a scam.
Horrible deceptive trying to stop payment on tickets. Their site pops up on DPAC site when I clicked purchase tickets. Feel sick that I got gipped. Can't pick seats and out double amount of tickets.
Ordered red rock tickets the day of the show on a motorcycle trip at the last minute they had the tickets in my email and my hotel printed them off in plenty of time for the show and they called to confirm I got them and printed them great show don't know about everyone else but they rocked for me.
I bought a ticket and within a minute realized I got the wrong time. Calling them is useless, and even my bank wouldn't help out. Cost me $95 for absolutely nothing. Big ripoff, especially since I bought the SAME exact ticket at a different time for half the price and no hassle if I needed to change it. NEVER, EVER, use this site for ANYTHING
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
