OneTravel Reviews Summary

Many users appreciate the ease of navigation on the website and the variety of travel options available. However, some concerns were noted regarding the effectiveness of overseas representatives, with reports of inadequate support during interactions. I booked with onetravel from Edmonton to Toronto to attend a funeral for my grandpa. I was given a total of 1,279.88 For both tickets. As I viewed my visa statements I noticed the total was $1,577. They did not send me a 24 hour check in email, so coming home the plane was over booked and we had to wait an hour for people to either no show.or volunteer to wait for the other plane. Very inconvenient to deal with after dealing with a funeral. When I called they informed me that because I booked with a Canadian visa I had to pay the USA currency rate. I'm sorry but when I am told a total of something I am purchasing, I expect to get the TOTAL! This should all be added into the total. That's why it's called TOTAL. I am not a happy customer. I asked if I was the only one with this issue and the representative told me yes. Now looking at the reviews I realize I am not the only one this has happened to. Onetravel needs to get their $#*! in order. It should be protocol to explain to the purchasing customer of any legalities such as the extra currency fee. Will never fly using onetravel again.

Made reservation Janaury 22,2015 through One travel after few minutes I recieved a confirmation and summary of fligth. After a few weeks I recieved an email informing me that the airlines had change the fligth schedule asking me if the change fligth is fine with me. I called one travel to make sure that I will not pay more since they are the one proposing the change, I was assured by a representative. So I said ok, one travel said ok we will send you the new fligth summary with your new e ticket within 24-48 hours, unfortunelely until now March 24,2015 still didn't recieved any updates from unless I call... called many times and they keep promising me that wait for 24 hours. So now am still waiting for a 2 months advance booking ticket. I am supposed to use this ticket on March 27,2015 been 10 days waiting. And they tell that non refundable when what's the use if the ticket arrive the day when your supposed to use, now one travel drop my call. Imagine the big trouble they cause because I trusted. Please for those who want to book online Never use one travel...

ONE TRAVEL SUCKS.
March 8, 2015

We book a planned trip to Las Vegas, 3 months prior to travel date, and we purchase the travel insurance to avoid possible issues. My mom pass away a month prior to our trip and we cancel the trip, and our nightmare was just beginning not to loose the money we paid. After filling the insurance claim, sent with mom's death certificate, and after 2 months waiting for a credit or my money back, this is the outcome: my mom's death does not qualify for insurance cover because she pass away out of the covered area (absurd) and a partial credit with American Airlines to be use within 1 year period.

We decide to use the credit to visit family and for my surprise, the credit available was reduce, and $200.00 per person penalty was subtracted from us. I do have both emails with different policies same booking and I'll dispute, I wish then out of business. The insurance is to protect their monkey business, preventing customers to dispute charges with credit cards, you can't dispute with your credit card a denied insurance claim.

Now I have both emails, and I'll dispute showing they change the story, not sure I'll get it. Feels like rip-off. (THERE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL, I WON! THANKS TO THE CREDIT CARD WHO FOUGHT FOR MY RIGHT.)

Nightmare
March 6, 2015

I booked two tickets from San Jose to Athens on Iberia and American which had the best travel times and what seemed a good price. First - after they had my credit card it took 18 hours for a confirmation that I actually had tickets. During this time I tried calling - on hold and never to through to an agent. Finally got confirmation and found that I had to go direct to the airlines for seats. Both Iberia and American charge me for making seat assignments - even though I had no choice. The extra fees came to $120.00. When I called Iberia it took several tries to get through and had to wait so long the line went dead and I had to call again and wait again. I actually meant to get the tickets from Iberia but the ASK took me to OneTravel - so I gave it a try. Never, never again.

Be careful
February 28, 2015

They don't offer the service they promise. Customer service never contacts you even when they promise to within 24 hrs. They have yet to resolve my issue. Waiting hold is long and when you finally connect, the line disconnects or they can't help you. Bad customer service. Very bad experience. Check other reviews and fraud activity. If you write a review on their page, they remove it and only leave positive feedback for everyone to see. They are coming fraud and unfair advertisement.

Be aware that prices shown at onetravel are in U.S. dollars. For a flight originating in Canada, I would not expect to be billed in Indian Rupees, British Pounds Sterling, or U.S. dollars. This is the 3rd time I've been tricked by a Las Vegas based business. Shady, deceptive business practices affect all online sellers. Booking directly at AirTransat.ca would have been cheaper. I will take it up with Air Transat, as this third party seller is operating under false business practices. The OneTravel rep even stated that they have an equivalent Canadian webpage, and that if I had called within 24 hours of booking, he could have helped. There is technology in place, where a Canadian ISP entering US territory website will be warned or immediately forwarded to a Canadian website. A tiny clause (fine print) stating that prices are billed in US dollars (on your after-purchase receipt) is a shady way to exempt onetravel from litigation. If AirTransat does not meet my expectation, I will not fly with them again. As for onetravel, there is no excuse.

Our site is based in the US, customer booked his flights on our US site therefore the charges are billed in USD. Our site did display the fares in usd and did advise at the end of the transaction he would be billed in USD. We do have a canadian site, however, the customer didn'
T book via www.onetravel.ca. If he had, the ticket cost would of been in CAD. No matter what country you are booking from, as long as you use our USD site, you will be charged accordingly.

Seriously THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS EVER! I called three or four times because I needed to cancel a flight. I was on the phone for almost 30 minutes waiting for the guy to change my flight so that I could get the same flight after having paid for a new flight. He ended up just canceling it after making me wait for that long because he was not able to make the change on his end. He told me I would get a refund confirmation email. The email I received only stated the insurance amount and not the full refunded flight amount so I called them back to find out why. The guy was so short and rude in his demeanor. I'm never booking with them again.

You need to know upfront how this agency works and what you will get. Their system does not allow you to access your flight online even though you will have the code from the airline. You need to make very certain you are booking the correct date and time as it is very easy to accidentally book the wrong thing. You cannot book your seats and must take whatever the airline assigns you at the last minute or pay 12 to 15 dollars per person for them to book for you. You should be able to call the airlines as soon as you are confirmed with the airline code but that may be difficult or impossible in some foreign locations. If you need assistance or are travelling with a child or really need particular seats due to physical issues you may want to book elsewhere.

*Consumer ABUSE*I made the unfortunate mistake in booking a flight through this company... After a devastating loss in my family I deemed it necessary to reschedule my flight for a later date. Unfortunately after attempting to contact insanelycheapflight.com - (a OneTravel company) 2 days before my scheduled flight, I was never contacted, not even so much as a phone call. Because of this i was labeled a no-show with zero possibility for a refund. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, I am going to school full time with very little money to spare. What this company is doing to consumers is not only poor business practice, but also down right un-American at that! I will post this everyday until this company addresses their faults and injustices to consumers worldwide.

It's a total scam
October 20, 2014

It's a total scam. I would not give them any star. They called me from no where while I was booking my tickets online on Kayak. Gave me a higher price and the wrong dates. They did not even assist me with changing my tickets. Thank GOD the airlines was more accommodative then these travel agents.

I wanted to cancel by wife's booking to india on Jet airways flight. When i called the agent to cancel it he said the penalty would be 200$ and so and so amount would be refunded back on my credit card. But then when i check my credit card statement I was charged 200$ extra on top of the penalty fees which the airline charges... the customer service representatives doesnt mention about these charges that the site will charge for processing your refund. The representatives are not clear in what they say and dont know about the charges and put all charges on you and make you pay... useless website. Would never recommend anyone buying ticket from here and talking to customer service is like talking to uneducated person..

STAY AWAY FROM ONE TRAVEL.COM AT ALL COSTS! I should have recognized the bait and switch when I first tried to book, but I didn't. I selected my flights and when the confirmation came, the dates were different than what I wanted. So I called them to fix the problem. I have to say that they made that change (I requested the change within 3 minutes of booking.) When I started to review my itinerary for my return (admittedly a couple of days later), I THEN noticed that the RETURN date had been changed. I tired calling only to et a message that they wee only open during business hours. NOTHING on the the web site shows how to make or request changes... so I went to the FAQ. Found the 1-888 number to make changes. Called it. The only option from there was to request my Walmart gift card (if you don't take the option, the call disconnects). The woman who answered could not and would not help me in any way. She was in the promotion department and she became belligerent and nasty when all I wanted was to change my flight. NEVER. NEVER. NEVER. Avoid OneTravel.com!

STAY AWAY, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING, BIGGEST SCAM, DONT BELIEVE THEIR WEBSITE, LIARS! My mother and I were searching for flights when we found a cheap US Airways flight, we went to click one and were redirected to their website. First of all, they charged us an additional $40 to request seats next to each other and a hefty tax amount making it the same price as if we were to have purchased the tickets directly from the airline. The following day, within the 24 hour window, the website had posted the same flight at a more convenient time for the same price. My mom called the customer service to request a change in flight, where he insisted he would need to charge her an additional $100 for switching the flight despite the website insisting it was the same fare. My mother asked him to hold for one minute to ask me if we indeed wanted to switch the flight where the customer service representative hung up in her face insisting he didn't have time for this and there were other customers on hold. I literally called five minutes later requesting to switch flights and insisting to speak with a supervisor after seeing my mom treated poorly, where he told me it would be $150 to change the flights, which included additional service fees and taxes. After explaining to them we were just told $100, he insisted it was due to a recent change in fare, even though on the website the price was still stated the same. I wish that were all, but they still insisted we be charged an additional $40 to sit next to each other on the new flight. These people are scam artists, constantly changing prices to cheat you out of your money, do not believe anything that's posted on their website, its cheaper and easier to go directly through the airline.

I use this website every time I travel. You can easily find flight tickets from different airlines that has decent price. Also, customer support is always there for you if you have any problems with booking or canceling your trip.
