I agree with the other reviews. This company is a SCAM. I bought my son a new computer, tried to load word and somehow got directed via Microsoft to them. I paid $300 for them to allegedly fix my son's computer when NOTHING was wrong except for Omintech Support taking me to the cleaners. Now I cannot get them to stop calling me. Do no buy any service from them.

They do everything possible to correct any problem and to let you know what they did. My hard drive went out on my old PC and they were able to get me going with my external hard drive and I lost nothing.

They, in my opinion, rip people off. Today, they told me I had several files missing and wanted to charge me for 45 min of work. I cut and pasted the chat screen while I was still connected and they imediatelly erased my paste, dumped the info and disconnected from the session. Smells kind of fraud like to ME...?

I am very happy with my Lenovo laptop windows 8. It is very easy to use. I love all the Windows 8 options. It took a little getting use to. Omnitech was very helpful setting it up for me. The computer took their time with the tutorial.

I've had similar experience with this company. One thing I want to address is in one of Omnitech responses they state Microsoft does not refer customers to them. That is not true. I called Microsoft and Microsoft gave me their number and told me they serviced their issues.

We would like to state for the record that we are a Microsoft certified partner. What this means is that we have the requisite number of Microsoft Certified Technicians on staff, and we have gone through the certification process as an organization. We do not advertise this on our website and Microsoft does not refer us customers, and the support we provide is third party support for all computer and peripheral issues. We are not part of Microsoft and they do not refer anyone to us and we do not say we are part of them.

With regards to the issue of people thinking that we are Microsoft, we simply do not understand it. We clearly identify ourselves in every customer contact. By the time someone becomes a paying customer they have seen our trademarked branding at least 13 times. We have an IVR that answers every phone call with “thank you for calling Omnitech Support”. Every single agent that answers the call greets the customer also with the name of our brand. If anyone doubts this, just call us. We have a strict compliance team that ensures that not only if someone directly asks us if we are Microsoft we must correct them immediately, but even if someone merely makes a statement that it could be inferred that they are under that impression, we affirmatively correct them immediately. This is an offence that we fire for on the spot if is not followed. It happened once a few years back, and we called the customer, apologized, immediately offered a full refund, and offered to fix the computer for free.

Over the last 10 years we have successfully resolved many thousands of issues in our work on behalf of Sony and with many small businesses. We are proud of our A+ BBB rating and we work hard to maintain it by doing everything we can do to resolve issues and to offer a full refund if we are unsuccessful, even though we may have spent 20 to 30 hours working on the problem.

As always, we are here to assist people who need the help of our experienced technicians in solving their software related-issues at a very economical cost. Each week, we earn hundreds and hundreds of complements from our satisfied customers. My home computer anti-virus was disabled by malware and I ended up with over 1500 viruses. Anthony saved my computer and the one year support plan has been great. I've been able to have tech support remote in to my computer from home to load additional software so I don't have to pack up everything and take it in to the nearest Best Buy store. Really convenient.

I have used my omnitech membership several times to get my new computer running and to fix the old computer. Without this support i would never have been ale to accomplish getting the new system running or fixing the old one.

The tech will work with you as long as it takes to resolve you issue. I have on occasion been on the phone with a tech for 4 Hr. I bought the service to help my mother keep her computer in good working order. The one thing I would have the company work on is working with older person. Speak slower and give clearr step by step instruction. I had to do a 3 way in order to interpet what action my mother needed to take. This is a good service for kids helping their parents keep the computers working.

These omnitech guys are a legitimate scam. I purchased a new computer and my desktop was becoming unresponsive within a day of purchase. So i tried to get in touch with microsoft. I was tricked by these guys into beleiving they worked for microsoft. Then they remote logged into my system, EDITED my registry in front of my eyes. The moment i saw that, i knew it was a scam. But i played out the game. Soon they ran a registry check to tell me that 169 errors had been found! So they plant errors and demand 199 $ for undoing it. Ofcourse, i am just going to system recover to undo their malice, but what a sleek scam.

I cannot say enough good things about these people. My computer was a mess and they "fixed" it in just a short time... and the cost to me was minimal compared to buying a new computer that I couldn't afford.

This is a fraudulent company--they are a scam. I have a story to tell but to make it short--do not pay them anything; they cannot help you. They do not know what they are doing and use the information you give them to call you back, take control of your computer and use the information. I was scammed over $3,000 on my credit cards once they got my information. DO NOT USE THEM. I'm going to report them to my district attorney as soon as I close out this report. They keep calling me and use an unavailable number so they cannot be reported.

LACK OF OMNITECH SUPPORT

In June of 2013, I contacted Omni to fix my laptop, which they did however afterwards when they wanted to renew the next year, I refused. As of today May 22nd, I have recieved at less twenty phone calls, three to four of the most recent I asked to talk to a supervison and asked to be removed from their list, they just keep calling. I am now going to see if I can take legal actions against them.

We do not call anyone outbound, unless they are an existing customer and we are trying to reconnect their computer, or they are an existing customer that has a plan that is expiring, which we call once, or twice if they do not answer.

Joe successfully repaired a problem that I spent more than 5 hours on yesterday with OMNITECH support technicians. The process was completed in a much shorter period of time with much more expertise.

I cannot say enough about how grateful I am that he was assigned to assist with this matter.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! I could not get into my email. After being online with one of the techs for about 20 mins, I asked about the fee. Yes, I should have asked right off, then again they should have also let me know up front. They wanted $250 to fix my problem they said was caused by being hacked. The next day I called the cable company and now have email. I WAS NOT HACKED! This is a scam...

Anthony did an awesome job cleaning up my computer. My e-mail was not working and apparently I had a lot of spyware/malware on my computer. He helped get rid of it and I can see my e-mail unencumbered from code!

BEWARE~SCAM ARTISTS! I've been hoodwinked! I wish I would have done a internet search on this company first before shucking out $250! I was redirected to a so called Microsoft site and OmniTechSupport magically appears. I've had nothing but problems with my PC ever since. A female rep. Hung up on me because I told her I couldn't understand her heavy accent. Now here's the real slap in the face. I purchased a brand new PC and as soon as I logged into my email account, the OmniTechSupport signature shows up again with redirecting $#*! and abnormal PC behavior all while the Norton was active. I will be returning my NEW PC & cut off my internet & start going to the local library so they can do that crap on their computers! Makes me wonder if ANY of these so called PC security programs work@ all. > :(

I called this company with a simple question, thinking that they were Windows support. They said to me that they were contractors for Windows, not true! After a long time and no solution to my problem, they wanted to scan the PC and I foolishly agreed. After the Scan the agent launched into a sales speech and tried to assure me that there were many problems with my PC. I explained that both my computer people and HP had worked on my PC within the last month and there were no problems. The agent tried to tell me that HP just claims to do work and often has done nothing. I am sure HP would not like that. This company is a fraud and that is the most polite thing I could say! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
