The company exhibits a mixed reputation in the unlocking service sector. You are lead to believe that you will pay £19.99 for an unlock code.
After paying, you will then be hit by an additional fee of more than double that amount.
You will not be refunded.
Please read the small print before making any transactions.
Better still, do not use this website. I learned the hard way.
I had terrible experience with them. They charged me 23CAD. I thought it was the service charge to unlock my old cell phone. I was waiting for the unlock code, and a few days later, they sent me email it was pre order charge and if I wanted to unlock my cell phone I have to pay another 75$. I lost my 23$ without any benefit from them. They never mentioned that I had to pay more in order to get unlock code. Be careful and aware of that. They are just liar. LAIR. NEVER mentioned clearly in their web site what pre order is for. Kind of SCAM web site. Not reliable...
I paid $27 which was the stated fee to unlock my Telstra phone. After paying I received reply to pay additional $72 to have my phone unlocked. Telstra only charges $80 to have phone unlocked. Very ambiguous way to ear money.
I had a phone from Simplemobile to unlock, it had been in service for 3 years, so should be unlock able, it's in my personal possession (not stolen), it's marked as active by Simplemobile. All valid criteria. Official Sim Unlock i/face to perform the unlock is simple enough, and good status tracking.
Unfortunately it reports unlockable (claims stolen, out of service or other - all wrong) and no money back options. Feels like theft to be honest, as all criteria were met, they just don't have a product that delivers, and basically take your money for no reason.
Disappointed - beware, they don't deliver, at least in my (valid unlock able) case
Used these last year. Terrible service. Quote you one price then want more money once they start processing your order.
If you complain keep referring you to their terms and conditions which are such small print that you can hardly read. Terrible customer service. WOULD Not RECOMMEND.
Update
They say they have been trying to contact me well they're not trying very hard.
My opinion of them still stands.
Do not use them!
They have been working on my order for a week and it's supposed to take 24 hours? They have the same order tracking screen stuck at 20% and some dizzy broad Emma working in customer service total scam I would not give these $#*! suckers a penny
Advertise 1 off fast payment. After paying pre order fee to then get final bill of 34.79 to actually get charged it as an additional 34.79. Rip off. Don't know why people have rated highly for a bad review. Iwish I read reviews not just at star rating or recommendation from a YouTube video. I own the phone so I expected the little addition charge but until you pay each section all fees hidden no upfront quote as I would have gone elsewhere. Also customer support rude and failed to see issue of them hiding fees.
I paid online unlock of my cell phone service with this company. The code they provided doesn't work, then you only agree to refund partial of the payment. This has been a painful process with them. They ask continuous video record showing the fact that the code they provided doesn't work, we provided. They just refuse to refund the payment.
(1) They bait you with a low initial cost, three easy steps, etc. (2) But you might need their "premium service." In my case, they asked for $80 more. (3) The progress update button stayed at 50% for 30 days. (4) Support email responses always told me to wait patiently... for 30 days. (5) Finally, they said my phone was blocked (despite the fact that it works perfectly with other carriers). (6) Being wary of the scam, I asked for proof and asked how a blocked phone could work. (7) They offered no answers to my questions but offered 50% refund. (8) I refused the refund and asked for answers and proof they are telling the truth. No success. (9) If you are still reading, you could save $100 by not using this company.
Beware. They increase price before releasing code. If you try to cancel order they try to charge you even tho they haven't given any sort of service. Shocking service
I Paid the full €20 and checkout to be told the next day I need to pay about €70 for the code, I refused to pay and the will not give me my refund no matter what I do. The checkout is misleading and gives the impression that you are paying for an unlock code, but its just a pre order you are paying for and you will be sent a bill
It took a long time and cost a lot more than I expected. I could have understood one of those things but not both.
I chose Official SIM Unlock as the price was £19.99. It did say there MAY BE an extra charge which turned out to make a total price of £65.99! There was no way of cancelling the pre payment. I think this is very misleading and more expensive than other companies.
It's very easy to understand you pay £24 to be then told you got to pay more what a scam a waste of £24
Advertise one low upfront price, but that gets you nothing! They email you back asking for more $$$$
I paid them $38 to unlock my iPhone X. They were incapable of doing so, but refused to give me a refund. Buyer beware!
It was easy to enter details of the phone. It turned out to cost nearly £70 to unlock the phone which is very expensive. If we had realised total cost at the start we would have sought help elsewhere.
100% SCAM!
I was so stupid. I SHOULD KNOW THEY ARE SCAMMERS, their paypal address is enquires(AT)paydisputes.com
I've Paid 18.00 EUR up front then asked to pay another 129,00 EUR to get the code.
Honestly way to expensive for just a sim unlock. Go get it done in a store or call your sim company get them to sort it.
Complete rip off... very unimpressed over £50 with a 20% discount and extremely slow...
It does the job. I had some issues with finding some information about the pricing. You will get refunded your pre-order payment and the real payment will come after this. It is pricy but you can do it with zero effort.
Customer service helped me find out what I needed to know after not being able to find the information I needed.
Excellent service. Enabled my disabled cousin to have my new phone and bring her into the 21st century. Thank you
Excellent service so far proof be when phone unlocked
Answer: 100 percent a scam; morally, legally, colloquially speaking.
Answer: No I would advise you to go somewhere else. This company is a total ripoff.
Answer: You didn't realize it because officialsimunlock.com didnt want you to realize it, at least until after they reeled you in with a first "prepayment".
